Teenagers are always excited and are feeling free about getting their license when they turn sixteen years old. Many states legislatures are now raising the driving age to eighteen. Most parents and adults would agree, but not the teenagers. I, as a teenager, would actually like the idea of raising the driving age to eighteen. Most of the teenagers at the age of sixteen today are not mature enough to get behind the wheel of a vehicle. There would probably be less car accidents. It would even give them more time to learn about other safe driving techniques. These are some of the reasons why I think eighteen is a great age to start driving. Several sixteen year olds are just trying to live their life in the moment. Today many teenagers think about their relationships, friends, and the kind of car they have. Although driving is an exciting experience, teenagers also need the basic safe driving techniques to keep them safe. Eighteen is a grand age for new drivers because if we did not have the extra two years in between sixteen and eighteen, then would we not have enough safe driving tips to help us when we get out on the road. Giving these two more years will be useful because we could learn more about safe driving, help us before we get out onto the road, and help us into the real world of driving. Being mature, having less car accidents, and learning more about safe driving will help us in our future. Raising our driving age to eighteen will help us accomplish these goals. Wouldn't people want to make the world a better place? I know I would because I do not want to end up living in a country where I have to worry about driving because teenagers are too immature when they behind the wheel.
