The film Zootopia is not quite an ordinary Disney film. Usually, Disney films are the epitome of happiness. One usually finds themselves reaching for a Disney film when in need of a little encouragement. This film brings critical thought about the social issues relevant to today’s society. The most prominent issues addressed in this film are racism, stereotypes and the accepting of diversity. Throughout the film, there are subtle jokes and comments about political correctness and social issues. The film, Zootopia, directed by Bryon Howard, Rich Moore and Jared Bush bring in positivity and encouragement to current social issues through the help of the characters, the plot, and the script, although the only critique would be the contradictory jokes and comments. The characters brought out a sense of hope in the audience which makes the film a bit more uplifting. While some mimicked characters from older films such as The Godfather and shows like Breaking Bad which made the audience giggle which brought happiness to the audience. The character of Judy Hopps brings a sense of hope to the audience. …show more content…

In the scene where Judy must speak about the recent found savage mammals she suggests that their biology may have something to do with them going savage. Judy thinks she cracked the case but rather damages the way prey looks at predators. Being that her self-appointed partner is a fox, she loses the friendship. After she thinks she “broke” the world, she goes home to her parent’s carrot farm and finally cracks the case. She discovers the real reason why animals were going savage so she quickly heads back to Zootopia to fix it back up. This scene helps the audience understand that before the good can come there will most likely be bad.
