I am applying for the SEMA Scholarship for some financial assistance in my road to making a mark in the automotive industry. My education at McPherson is unique. I am pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Automotive Restoration, which is only offered at McPherson College. But, unlike most students here, I added a little, personal twist to my studies by adding a communications based path to my major alongside a minor in business management. As a student at McPherson College, I have learned how to become a leader in my surroundings. I took on a position as an Resident Assistant, through my job as an RA I have grown skills in creativity, teamwork, and leadership. I see myself as a willing person in all the areas I am involved in. I am always willing to learn, willing to help, and …show more content…
willing to participate. My peers see me as engaging. As an RA I am in charge or lots of events here on campus,so I must be electrifying and uplifting to make the events memorable and fun.
I believe all the skills I have learned as an RA will help me with my future career in the automotive industry. I have learned how to make a not so fun situation into something a little more exciting. Some days at work aren't so fun, so knowing ways to brighten the mood of the shop is a good skill to have, in my opinion. My talents vary across the board, I am one to learn new things often and pretty much anything sounds cool to learn to me. Some of my favorites are playing guitar, riding a unicycle, telling awful dad jokes, and I am pretty good at taking pictures. Having many talents makes it easy for me to achieve my daily vision of not going a day without an accomplishment. The days that most people call their lazy days, are my worst days. In order for me to have a successful day, I have to accomplish at least one task. Whether it be an accomplishment at work, school, or just expanding my talents or skills. Having a good spirit and a sense of thrill is what makes my days go on in a positive way. All in all, I believe I have a great future in the automotive
industry. My personality, skills, and goals make it easy for me to relate to any situation that is thrown at me. I believe with the skills I have and will learn from McPherson College will be a great help in starting my career. Through my past jobs and internships, I will have the experience necessary to know what to expect when I start my career. And finally, my personality will be a useful piece in my future career, making it easier to get along with my peers and coworkers. I can't wait to make my mark in this industry.
Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
Introduction What does it mean to be an effective supervisor? Before taking this class, I thought that if a supervisor is able get their employees to work effectively, and efficiently, then the person is an effective supervisor. I didn’t realize until taking this class that supervisors do so much more. After learning more about the other tasks supervisors do like planning, being effective listeners, and motivating employees, I have a better understanding of effective supervision. I am aware that I have had supervisory experiences.
What experiences have you had which prepare you for this position (e.g perhaps as an employee, leader, or working with people different from yourself, etc)?
Finally, leadership, my most valuable skill. Leadership is useful in any career and any situation. In band, I've used it a lot. Now that I'm going into the real world and my career, I know I will use it even more. My leadership has rewarded me personally. I feel like I have already made a difference in the lives of my peers. Leadership can get me anywhere in life and I expect that this alone could get me all the way to my college graduation. These skills in combination will keep me on top, and hopefully at the top of my college

On February 14, 2018 at the Hollidaysburg Area Jr. High school located in Pennsylvania, a Career Fair took place. What is a career fair? A career fair is when people with different careers/career pathways explain information about their career to students so they can begin planning what they want to do. Some of the speakers that presented were from science, communication, and business pathways and all had interesting explanations however, the most interesting was the Human Services career pathway.
When I get out of high school I want my career to be a farmer. The roots of farming began in the areas of present day turkey in the middle east about 10,000 years ago. There is about 570 million farmers worldwide. More than 90 percent of farms are run by an individual or a family and rely primarily on family labour. Family farms occupy a large share of the world’s agricultural land and produce about 80 percent of the world’s food. I have been working with a farmer for half a year now and I love it. I have seen and learned what I need to know and what I need to have to run a farm. It’s going to be a lot of working and learning to save up money and to learn what I need to know to have and run a farm.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of having a job where I can help people. After doing research throughout my twelve years of school I stubbled across the occupation of a registered nurse and I realized that is the ideal career for me. While researching registered nurses, I determined that anyone can try and become a registered nurse, but it requires a tremendous amount of hard work. This future job will require me to have a great education, extraordinary communication, listening, and personal management skills. As a registered nurse the pay is more than ideal, and it would provide me with the lifestyle I would want to live. This occupation would also give me the chance to work anywhere I want, such as close to home or somewhere in a different state.
The Senior Experience was an excellent project to prepare me for the challenges common in college and the real world. One obstacle I faced was creating an appointment with the Lexington County Sheriffs Department. It was difficult waiting on the police department to contact me back, while deadlines for when I needed job shadowing forums steadily approached. Along with that, I had difficulties managing my time, because as a Student Athletic Training Aid I had to stay late after school everyday. I overcame this by finding work I could do in the baseball dugout and working over the weekend. On the other hand, Ms. Capers and I worked well together. We had the same ILT and could meet whenever needed. The only problem was that I chose a teacher that had not been an advisor before, luckily I was able to explain what her role was well enough.
While working or while looking for work there are certain skills sets that are universally important. No matter what job or career path you have chosen these skills make it easier to obtain your goals, whatever they may be.
Students all around the world have dreams of what they would like to be when they grow up. “I just messed up. Here I was, runner up to the valedictorian and the Eli Lilly scholarship, and I had just thrown it all away to party. I just hated myself for blowing my chance,” This quote from my career interview with Justin explains very clearly the reason I chose to interview my cousin for this assignment: to explain the struggle between what you are and want to be. Justin Lanman, who was kicked out of Rose Hulman for failing grades and later graduated from the continuing studies program of Indiana University, is a 32-year-old male works at Cook Medical and lives at home with his parents due to an accumulation of loan and credit card debt. Throughout this paper, I will detail my career interview with Justin and try to do him justice in

Unlike regular universities, RMC guarantees work placement after the degree is completed. RMC is a better option for most students than a regular university.
