"You’re sure that you want to do this?" This summer I applied for a job so I get could some money to put towards college. I found a job I had some experience in, a camp counselor. The position was at the Winston Lake YMCA. I interviewed and I got the job. I was so happy, but my supervisor told me that the kids you will be working with are much different than the ones you have worked with before. These kids were from varies places in the community. Such as Ladera Crest, Rolling Hills, Town-view, etc. The first day came and I was so pumped. I was ready for this new job because I had never had a job before. I tried to get past the bad behavior. If they wanted something they would have to listen, it took them a long time to get the concept. Most of the kids don't really listen at home so when they would come to the YMCA they would go crazy. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't doing my job right multiple times because the kids weren't acting right. I would come home worn out and stressed out from these kids. Still trying to see what I was doing wrong and how I can fix it. Then my supervisor told me, "You are doing your job right, you are trying to understand these kids. You are doing the best that you can!" This boosted my confidence so much I tried new things with them to make it better. I taught them Spanish, their location, zip code, some sight words and most of them learned how to read by the end of the camp. When I started doing this with the kids I felt like I was doing something right for a change. We started having more fun. After those couple of weeks I knew how each person in my group acted. Then one day when they came to camp all of them weren't acting right. I got frustrated again and I was still trying my best. Then my supervisor reminded me that, "You’re not going to get to all twenty five of them, but you’re going to at least touch one of
