Problems In Today's Society
There are many problems right now in the society. Some of these problems can be easily solved, or can be impossible to solve depending how bad it is. Many people think these problems should be solved by the governments, since they are in charge. But we can also solve these problems if we get together. Not all the problems, but some that can be solved. I think the three major problems in the society today are: unemployment, violence, and pollution.
The first problem in the society right now is unemployment. Many people today are either unemployed or underemployed. Some of these people just stay home and collect their welfare cheque every month, when they should go out and at least try to get a job. If there are more people like this, the country would be poor and therefore the government would have to collect more taxes.
Also the standard of living would decrease because of their income that is way below the average income. Right now, there is also a big gap between the low income people and the high income people and this is becoming a problem. Low income people are starting to get lower wages and higher income people are starting to get higher wages.
Another problem in the society is violence. Today, there are many violence in the streets, some schools, and also in the media. These violence in the streets can cause the neighbourhood to become a bad place to live. This will cause people not to go there or move in there because of these violence.
There are also many violence and gangs in some school, causing some of the school to be very unsafe to go. With these violence and gangs, students will probably be afraid of these people. In addition, the media can contain violence too. These violence, can cause kids to do what ever is on TV. For example, my little brother likes to watch wrestling and he sometimes does wrestling moves on me for no reason and thinking it's fun. Even though it doesn't hurt me because
I'm bigger than him, he might hurt someone smaller in school or something.
The third problem in the society today is pollution. Many things these days cause pollution such as cars, air conditioners, refrigerators, factories,
CFC cans, etc.. All these things together can cause a pollution problem in the society today. The CFC cans used to be a serious problem to the ozone layer, but luckily it was taken off the market. Refrigerators and air conditioners are also a problem to the zone because of the liquid called freon.
“In 2008, 21,000 Canadians died from the effects of air pollution.”(Geduld) Although most of these deaths are from long term exposure to the pollutants there was still “2,682 deaths caused from short term exposure.”(Geduld).“5.5 percent of cardiopulmonary (heart and lung disease related) deaths can be attributed to ground-level ozone exposure, which has increased over the past decade.” (David Suzuki Foundation)
Modern Canada has been subject to several different issues that have raised a number of troublesome and difficult circumstances, though one of the most notable being the 1980 and 1995 Referendums in Quebec. The province has provided its residence, and the larger national population, with a great source of conversation and controversy. The Parti Quécécois introduced both referendums, although the party was under different leadership: Réne Lévesque in 1980 and Jaques Parizeau in 1995. Both were strongly in favor of the provinces secession from Canada. For the citizens and politicians of Quebec during both Referendums, the results speak volumes about voter turnout and the true support for the potential movement – which looked to achieve provincial sovereignty. This paper will explore the strategic wording of each question and the sentiments that surrounded the goings-on around each individual referendum.
According to familiesusa.org the poverty line is a single individual who lives alone with no dependents making $11,490 a year. The annual salary goes up by $4,020 for each person you add to the household. Minimum wage is mainly used for part-time jobs, and part-time jobs are not meant to support a family full-time. These jobs are meant for teenagers or people who have others to rely on for income. People who live on minimum wage typically live alone and can support themselves. If a woman has a dependent child she either is receiving additional monetary compensation through ch...
Modern Society has set certain standards that they expect everyone to conform to, but in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger Holden Caulfield is used to show what happens when humans do not conform to society’s wishes. J.D. Salinger uses Holden Caulfield to tell some of his own story and to show the consequences of not conforming to society and how society will eventually force everyone to conform. Salinger subtly points out may of societies demands, such as growing up and understanding sex. Holden refuses to give into society and will not grow up because he formed an unfounded definition of adulthood. Conformity plays a large part throughout the novel because it eventually leads Holden into a mental institute because he cannot and is not willing to conform to all of society’s demands. J.D. Salinger uses a young Holden Caulfield to show the affects of self-alienation, that people cannot run away from the inevitable, and how sexual identities affect humans in a society where conformity is expected.
adults. The combined income of the household amounts to an average net pay of $84,431 a year
Stratospheric ozone absorbs 97-99% of ultraviolet radiation. As this protective layer continues to dissentigrate, human health will suffer. One American dies every hour from skin cancer, a direct result of ozone depletion by anthropogenic chemicals, primarily CFCs, which damage the ozone layer. Alternate chemicals are now being used in the place of CFCs that will not damage statospheric ozone, and there is international recognition of the importance of developing these chemicals. The Montreal Protocol is an international treaty which limits the production of ozone depleting substances. Still, human health is at risk from the deletion of ozone, and the risk factor will continue to rise unless people and industries become more aware of the implications connected with everyday use of chemicals which destroy stratospheric ozone.

important problem. This problem must be focused on and dealt with or the world is going
For our nation to be successful in the future, governmental leaders and citizens must come together to find solutions to the problems of terrorism, illiteracy, and lack of moral values. If we do not, our nation will weaken.
Everyone believes something different. Many people believe society has a large impact on today’s world. Many people believe you should read a book by its cover and not allow any underclassmen into your life due to their class in the world. While today many people are not punished for what they have done, in the olden day in age, everyone of everyone was punished for every crime that wasn’t allowed. Society has changed so much through the years, it has helped and also harmed our small and very large communities greatly. The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Of Mice and Men are great ways to show how society has affected today’s day in age.
Throughout human history, man has always encountered problems and seeks to solve it in order to alleviate his own suffering. Pain is one of the pertinent reasoning behind almost all actions taken by humanity as a whole, not dependent on status, class, race, gender, etc. However, as humans, we are also constrained to the society in which we live. We behave the way we do, and react the way we do because society has structured us to do so in that particular manner. Civilization cannot exist without the existence of man, however, man never ceases to change the construct of his civilization. In his Civilization and Its Discontents Sigmund Freud explains the conflict in which humans experience self-entanglement, primarily due to the conflict with the self and civilization. Freud defines the conflict humans have between the self and culture, both of which are structured by civilization. Similar to Freud, Adrienne Rich also sees herself locked in conflict caused by society. However, in comparison to Freud, Rich describes these conflicts based on personal identity, whereas Freud describes conflicts based on personal desire.
Television violence causes destructive behavior in children, however; television can be a powerful influence to young viewers in our society. Unfortunately, much of today's television programming are very violent. Many researchers like scientists, pediatricians, and child researchers in many countries have studied to find out what it is about television violence that makes it such a big affect on the way kids act and behave. Sometimes, children think that is a normal thing in our real life, by watching only a single violent program, which can increase aggressiveness on children and become violent, aggressive, and vicious.
Some people would say that society has changed. They say that times are getting harder as the years progress, and people 's ways of thinking are different from back then. Some even think that the world will come to an end based on society problems. Our generation is the future that is very lost if you ask me. So has society really changed are just is it still the same just different ways that we handle it.
The earth is considered as one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It is the only planet in our galaxy that has enough water to support life. Unfortunately our planet is suffering due to many problems which should be solved before it is too late. The major problems that are facing our world today are population, pollution and animal extinction.
There are many things wrong with society today. Some of the problems could be easily solved, while others may be impossible to solve. Today, many of the problems we have in society people feel the government should fix seeing as they are in charge. But, many of the problems start and should end with people doing their part as a group and want to make the world a better place for future generations. Not all problems in society can be fixed at once, but with people coming together we can come closer to bettering our society as a whole. Three major problems in society today would be: racism, violence, and immigration.
