Communication plays a significant role for success in the workplace. Effective communication is key to build productive relationships with others, to emerge cohesive team, and to be a more valuable job candidate.
Relationships are built by positive encounters with managers, coworkers, and customers. Effective communication is significant to this process to properly construct and foster productive relationships. One of the effective communication is to give the audience what they care about most rather than just the content you want to be shared. If the message is not suitable for the audience, they may not be interested or miss the point you are trying to make. This is very important in business communications since the communication will not be successful if the audience is not the center of the message. For example, your audience already has expertise in a given area, don't waste their time with the unnecessary background. If you talk about what they already know, they may be tired of the tedious talk. Engaging the audience means communicating in such a manner that they are interested in talking with you. This is effective to keep the audience attracted and involved. Effective communication skills also help managers to provide constructive feedback to their staff and build better relationships.
