Task 1: The Private White VC is a brand to remember its namesake WWI hero: Private Jack White. The factory has been in operation for over 100 years and continues to produce clothing in the traditional way. All clothing is made by skilled craftsman hand and in its own factory. And they control the whole supply chain to ensure high-quality hand-made clothing with the best materials. The Private White VC is not just about male fashion but also is about British hand-made luxury clothing. Task 2: The general brand strategy is differentiation and added value (Krake, 2005), which means the products are different from competitors and have more value for customers. However, different brands in different markets should focus on different brand strategies. …show more content…
Keller (1998) is the first author who points out how to build a strong brand by SMEs, such as build one or two strong brands, focus marketing program on brand associations to serve brand equity, and use brand elements to support brand awareness and brand image. However, Krake (2005) disagrees two guidelines that Keller said, they are designing push and pull system to attract attention and broadening brand associations as much as possible. Keller’s guidelines are easy to understand by SME, but the activities scope is too big for SME. For example, design push and pull system. Most of SMEs’ aims are directed to the sales and profits. They will not spend much time and money to research marketing or to do their push and pull system. Therefore, as figure 1 shows there is a new model maybe more suitable for SMEs. Firstly, the entrepreneur has more influence in SME and plays an important role in SME, because the entrepreneur is not only the manager who decide how to manage a brand, but also he represents the brand and through him to communicate the brand with the customer (Krake, 2005). He is the owner of the brand at the beginning, so the clothing prefers the classic military style, bases on skilled craftsman’s hand-made, and updates with new functions for the modern man. The Private White V.C’s creative director is Nick Ashley, who is famous in the fashion industry. So he delivers the male fashion to the outside customers. These persons represent the Private White V.C and closely integrate with the brand. Secondly, the company structure has more influence on SMEs than large companies. Because SMEs focus on brand management and how to manage it, but the large company has to be more specific about how many people in marketing and how many brands dose each manager to manage (Krake, 2005). Thirdly, the type of markets also influences on the role of brand management, as well the type of products, market orientation, and the state of the competition (Krake, 2005). For example, the Private White V.C is in the luxury market. They focus on quality hand-made and male fashion to compete with other luxury male brand. What’s more, available budget and marketing creativity are influencing on the marketing activities and communications. Compared to

Minor White was an American Photographer and considered one of the most influential photographers of the post WWII era. He was not only a photographer but a teacher of the medium as well as one of the founders of Aperture Magazine which is still around today (Stamberg).
In E.B. White’s essays, “Once More to the Lake “and ‘The Ring of Time”, the author demonstrates two different interpretations of time and how it is used to symbolize meaning to each piece. “Once More to the Lake” is an essay that is derived mostly from White’s personal experience while “The Ring of Time” is mostly examining a teenage girl performing at the circus, in the eyes of someone else. Both of these articles give the reader insight of how the author uses the theme of time to show different aspects to the storyline. In White’s essays, he uses strategies that reflect on the past and foresee the future, use other individuals as vehicles to access an alternative temporality and demonstrate his own perceptions and visions in order to explore the reality or notions of time.
White privilege is a concept that many people are unfamiliar with, but not because they do not benefit from it. In the paper “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack” by Peggy McIntosh argues that white people have an advantage over those of other races, though most are completely unaware of it or simply take it for granted. Her recognition of white privilege came from the concept of male privilege. She says that she looked at that concept and realized there was certainly something similar to it in regards to race (McIntosh, 1988, 11). This paper has great importance to the function of society. Because many white people do not recognize their unfair and disproportionate advantage in society, racial tensions can rise even more because there is a major wall blocking people from fixing the current issues.
Sweat beading up, rolling down my face, wincing in pain as my body aches, but I keep on, knowing that the past four years of my life had led to this moment. As my day trudged on things finally came to an end and I’ve achieved my goal, I received my black belt. This happened around seven years ago.
White privilege are privileges that are given to white people who they do not earn, it 's an asset they get; on daily basis just because of their skin color.; White. Peggy McIntosh describes the white privilege as "an invisible weightless knapsack of special provisions, maps, passports, code-books, visas, clothes, tools and blank checks (McIntosh 1988, p175).” I believe that the white privilege is the same as racism because the word white privilege itself explains it. It is privilege given and offered towards only the white people. If someone is given a special privilege because they are white then that is racism.
Now Levi’s brand is supposed to be seen as “a style for every story” – again emotional impact emphasized. But as we can see, although they stressed different features in different periods of time, LS&Co maintained core values which they stuck in people’s mind – quality, comfort, uniqueness and emotional impact.

Case Study: Victoria's Secret OVERVIEW Victoria's Secret, one of the world's most recognizable fashion brands, established itself in the Bay Area in the early 1970s. Originally owned by an ambitious Stanford graduate looking for a comfortable and high-end retailer to buy his wife lingerie, Roy Raymond opened the first store at Stanford Shopping Center. Styled after a Victorian boudoir, Raymond's success prompted him to open three other locations, a catalog business, and a corporate headquarters within a few years. His inability to balance finances with his creative vision, Roy Raymond fell into trouble and was forced to sell his company for the small sum of $1 million dollars to The Limited, an Ohio-based conglomerate owned by Les Wexner.

Mr.Lauren had more dreams to fulfill. He chose the name Polo for his line of ties because the sport repsented to him a lifestyle of athletic grace and discreet elegance, an image of men who wore well-tailored, classic clothes and wore them with style. With that image in mind, Mr Lauren established Polo as a separate menswear company in 1968, producing a complete line of men's clothes. Using only the finest fabrications, Mr. Lares's menswear was distinctive, innovative, but always classic and refined. His suits blended the American Ivy League natural shoulder silhouette with the fitted shape and expensive fabrics of the best European custom tailored clothing. His shirts were all cotton, richly patterned and expertly made. This same care was, and still is, applied to every element of...

Miuccia Prada once said that “What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language”. Miuccia Prada and the Prada brand have grown from humble beginnings making quality leather goods to a public traded company with a current market capitalization of over $26 billion (USD) . With the development of Prada as one of the world’s premier luxury brands it provides an excellent case study to examine how strategy paved the way for the success of the Prada brand. The acquisition history of Prada will be reviewed, where some preliminary conclusions can be made about what has been contributing factors to both the successes and failures. Then finally, an evaluation of what the future holds for Prada and the sustainability of its competitive advantage.
The White Man's Burden, by Rudyard Kipling, suggested that the cultural development of people from other ethnic and cultural backgrounds should be encourage until they can take their place in the world by fully adopting Western ways. According to this perspective the advancement of western political, cultural, or religious beliefs is a missionary activity. The colonial empire was motivated at least in part by the idea that it was the "white man's burden" to civilize "backward" peoples (Jalic Inc). The colonization of native cultures by imperialist powers is emulated in The Tempest. The character of Caliban is considered primeval, he is the child of a sorceress and a devil, his savage nature is intended to symbolize man's primitive instincts
