Priscilla Rich is a Danville resident who is working to engage homeowners and renters on creating affordable low-carbon lifestyles. She and her student interns are promoting a contest to reduce water and energy, support renewals through CCA’s in the County and encourage smart food choices to reduce water and energy. calendar. He believes ending the semester at the beginning of the winter break would be advantageous and supports the change. He noted that the state PTA adopted the homework policy which supports quality over quantity and notes that the state PTA advocated the reduction in school work done at home to promote health family interactions and the benefits of a balanced life. In closing Mr. Moore asked the Board to take advantage of the committee’s suggestion as the most reasonable source of information and follow their guidelines on recommendation of a calendar change. Luke Haley, senior and ASB President at California High School stated that the leadership program supports the proposed instructional calendar change. The students believe that they need a break during the winter holiday, and that their test scores would improve if finals were done prior to winter break. Cynthia Spain, has 2 children in the district and spoke about the proposed calendar change. Ms. Spain feels there is an information gap. She would like reasoning that shows how a change that impacts so many families would make a positive difference for students. Ms. Spain shared handouts with the Board of her outstanding questions and asked that the answers be posted on the District website. Yazan Hanouneh, Student Board Member from San Ramon Valley High School, shared information regarding current events taking place at local high school. SRVEA President, Ann Katzburg noted that she spoke with Mr. Haley about the fact that at the college level finals are done prior to the break, and that aligning a break for our students that replicates college is helping support our students. Ms. Katzburg enjoyed the new teacher breakfast and appreciates the new format of SRVEA members sitting with the new teachers. Ms. Katzburg also noted that the evaluation procedure will be addressed during negotiations and the first item they will be looking at is how to be more informative on their practices and improve conversation. Renee Heikamp, 19, and case worker from the Catholic Children’s Aid Society (CCAS), Angie Martin, were charged with criminal negligence resulting in the 1997 death of newborn baby, Jordan Heikamp. The charges were dropped shortly after Jordan’s death, due to a lack of evidence from the investigation of a 63-day inquest. (CBC, 2001). Renee Heikamp and her baby were residing at the Anduhyaun shelter that services Aboriginal women fleeing abuse during the time of his death. Jordan Heikamp had starved to death, weighing only 4 pounds, 4 ounces less than what he weighed at his pre-mature birth, in May 1997; a photograph shown to witnesses at the inquest revealed the corpse of the baby who was little more than a skeleton.
When conducting research for my project, I came across a website that contained a few primary sources regarding the Salem Witch Trials. One of these primary sources was the photo of a legal document explaining the death warrant and reasons for execution of a woman named Bridget Bishop. Bishop was claimed to be a witch in Salem during the year 1692, and the document explaining her significance involving witchcraft resides in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. My thesis for this primary source is that the judge and jury believed they were seeking justice by executing Bishop, a woman whose death was truthfully based on her differences as a person rather than actual crimes she committed.

The court’s decision based on the treatment of young people in this case emphasizes on the concept of social justice, which means the fair allocation of wealth, resources and opportunity between members in a society. The appellant in this case, Louise Gosselin, was unemployed and under the age of 30. She challenged the Quebec Social Aid Act of 1984 on the basis that it violated section 7 of her security rights, section 15 of her equality rights in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and section 45 of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. For the purpose of this essay, we shall explore the jurisprudence analysis of section 7 and section 15 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Section 7 states that everyone has the
Carla Washburn, an incredible, inspirational woman that has sadly witnessed the 3 closest male figures in her life all pass on. This has resulted in Carla becoming depressed over the unbearable experience. Carla embraced in giving back to the community and that’s not surprising because she’s a person of spirituality. While, Carla is the client and is suffering through grief, it’s likely she’d benefit immensely from creating a program to work with the kids in the community and may give her a sense of worth she’s been seeking since these 3 tragedies.
Ashley Smith was a young girl that was placed in a juvenile detention centre at age 15 for throwing apples at a mail man. Her short sentence quickly extended into a life sentence because of so many infractions within the prison system. Ashley suffered from extreme mental health issues and was place in a psychiatric prison facility, however this facility was shown in the documentary to be corrupt and their actions with Ashley were extremely illegal. Furthermore, Ashley wasn’t given the proper help and treatment that she needed, instead she was physically and verbally abused by guards in the prison, and she ultimately passed away in the prison. Her death is still being debated about whether
You would think Andre Rand would have come to his senses after being sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. However, that was not the case. Rand cast himself as a “scapegoat victim” of a “corrupt” legal system, according to a series of letters he wrote and sent to a newspaper dating back to 1994.(Donnelly) In 1969, Andre Rand convicted his first act as a suspected serial killer, and convicted murderer. This must have set off a trigger in his mind that told him mentally to forever be a kidnapper, killer, and pedophile. Rand did not stop his ways after his 1969 act of crime.

There is one hundred and eighty days of school and seven hours in each day. Out of the whole year, one day is dictated to the environment and talked about for five hours. On this day, every teacher makes sure that they have their shiny blue and green buckets out right next to the door that they have set out themselves a few days before this special day. That way when the environmentalist comes to visit and starts to show pictures of the recycling bins, no one starts acting clueless. These very important people start explaining the reason for choosing this particular school to give a very important speech about saving earth as well including that prizes will be passed out if all questions are answered correctly at the end. But only to find out

Strong and outstanding Political and Feminist poet, Adrienne Cecile Rich, captivated her audience with her true and soft words. She is a prime example of uncovering hidden struggles for more than one community and responsible for delivering so many eye-opening pages to read. The most stable way to describe her tremendous gravitational pull would be to quote the woman herself, “Art means nothing if it simply decorates the dinner table of the power which holds it hostage”. She is a creative individual to me because of her courage with standing up for Women’s Rights for so long, and unveiling what should be in everyone’s line of view to begin with.
