Princess Diana once said, “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” Princess Diana was a selfless, caring woman who left behind a legacy of love, passion, and support for the world to follow, even twenty years after she died. She holds a special place in so many people’s hearts for all the good she has done around the world. The Princess will always have a worldwide admiration. On July 1, 1961, Diana Spencer was born in Norfolk, England. She was the youngest daughter of five children: Charles Jane Sarah and John Spencer (Diana Par. 1). Growing up, Diana was a quiet and reserved child until the age of eight when her parents suffered a harsh divorce and left her to live with her father, who won custody of all four children. When she turned twelve, she was sent to West Heath School and developed a passion for ballet (UXL Par. 3). In 1995, Diana accomplished her goal to be a dancer and performed “Uptown Girl” at the Royal Opera House. Wayne Sleep was Diana’s good friend who helped her accomplish her lifelong dream to become a dancer. Diana became bored with school and decided to drop out at age sixteen. Her grades were not the best including her O-Test (Standard Testing) which she failed. Her father, John Spencer, sent her away to a Swiss Finishing School but after a semester she became homesick and moved back home (Diana Par. 8). Although she did not enjoy school or even finish it, she is still shown as admirable because looking at her now, she had many successes in life. People can look to her success to help with their own life if they cannot afford to go to school or do not enjoy it like

The first and most noticeable change which happened to the Disney’s princesses is the existence of woman of color as the princesses. From the first princess movie in 1937, Disney exclusively uses a White woman or a Caucasian woman as the princess - from Snow White to Belle, all of these princesses are White women. Though the notion of racial discrimination abolishment had been reverberated since 1950s in America, only on the sixth movie in 1992 the first colored princess, Jasmine, appeared as the official Disney’s princess. After Jasmine, impressively and consecutively, Disney releases three more princesses from colored women before using White women again as the princesses.

Ideas suggesting equality between both genders went unappreciated by society during the French Revolution. Marie Antoinette welcomed these ideas by implying individualism. Scholars classified Antoinette as a rude tramp, basing their conclusions off primaries from the frustrated poor folk. These frustrated people had been cheated by their king and his financial advisors, who failed to create solutions to help the country’s ailing economy. The public looked to blame anyone who may have caused the present situation. French societal norms demonstrated this as women had to obey society and their husbands’ orders, who instructed women to only do domestic work. When queen Marie Antoinette defied these normalities and refused to comply with the public’s standards and demands, they disapproved and thought poorly of her. Thus, French society misinterpreted Antoinette’s self-confidence and nonconforming personality for selfishness and inappropriate behavior. Although she lived extravagantly and bought personal pleasures using tax dollars,
Diana, the youngest in her family of four, remained close to the Royal Family of Britain even at a young age. FIRST: Let me first begin by telling you about Princess Diana’s life. In a book by Andrew Morton titled “Diana: Her True Story In Her Own Words” published by Simon and Shuster, Morton talks into great detail about Diana’s life. He says that Diana, Princess of Wales, was born Diana Frances Spencer on July 1st, 1961. Her parents divorced at a young age, leaving her and her siblings in a bitter custody battle. When her father inherited the title of Earl Spencer, she became Lady Diana Spencer. After she finished with school, she worked as a nanny and a kindergarten teacher. She had a passion for taking care of children. She grew up knowing the Royal family quite well. Princess Diana’s younger brother is the Queen’s godson. Although their families had known each other for a long time, Prince Charles of Wales and Lady Diana met again at a party in 1977. In F...
Many people remember Princess Diana for her very fragile and loving nature, however during an interview with BBC, she often remarks “I am a very strong person,” an ironic statement for someone whose life was full of challenges and disappointments (Elliot& Pederson, 1995, p.62). Beginning with her birth on July 1, 1961 to aristocratic parents Viscount and Viscountess Johnnie and Frances Althorp, Princess Diana (then Diana Frances Spencer) believed she was a disappointment to her parents because she was not born a baby boy, the desired heir to the Spencer estate. Feelings of disappointment continued for Diana during her parent’s divorce at the age of six and her father’s second marriage to Raine (a woman she despised) when she was 16. Shortly after her father’s marriage to Raine, Diana failed her “O-levels” (or college placement tests), and was sent to a Swiss finishing school to develop her passion for skiing rather than focus on academics. It was based on this new sense of freedom that caused Diana to exhibit problematic behaviors, such as relentless stubbornness and lying, as well as early symptoms of an eating disorder (Elliot & Pederson, 1995). Thus, it is the purpose of this paper to examine how the events of Diana’s life in conjunction with psychological components contributed to her development of bulimia nervosa.
A. N. Wilson, biographer of Milton, Tolstoy, and Dante, shows his expertise with his latest biography about Queen Victoria. Queen Victoria is an interesting subject. Throughout her life, Queen Victoria was a prolific writer, who wrote in diaries, and corresponded rapidly to various key figures of the era. However, despite, or perhaps because of the plethora of information on Queen Victoria, no previous biography on her has been written without a positive or negative slant. A. N. Wilson has succeeded in writing a complete biography of the complicated character Victoria, while allowing the reader to assume his or her own judgement.
Diana showed great determination by following what she believed in. She had a passion for ballet throughout her entire life. When she was at boarding school, she would sneak down to an empty corridor at night and practice for hours on end. Even though she grew too tall to accomplish her dreams of becoming a professional ballerina, she kept dancing throughout her adult years (Morton 125).
Diana went to school not to learn but to find new things to do for the world. She failed almost all her academic courses which made her parents push harder. Diana did excel in: singing, dancing, playing sports, and working at volunteer shelters. This made Diana realize that helping people was what she was set out to do.
