Princess Diana once said, “Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” Princess Diana was a selfless, caring woman who left behind a legacy of love, passion, and support for the world to follow, even twenty years after she died. She holds a special place in so many people’s hearts for all the good she has done around the world. The Princess will always have a worldwide admiration. On July 1, 1961, Diana Spencer was born in Norfolk, England. She was the youngest daughter of five children: Charles Jane Sarah and John Spencer (Diana Par. 1). Growing up, Diana was a quiet and reserved child until the age of eight when her parents suffered a harsh divorce and left her to live with her father, who won custody of all four children. As her father moved on to another relationship, Diana struggled to have a relationship with her stepmother (Diana Par. 4). When she turned twelve, she was sent to West Heath School and developed a passion for ballet (UXL Par. 3). In 1995, Diana accomplished her goal to be a dancer and performed “Uptown Girl” at the Royal Opera House. Wayne Sleep was Diana’s good friend who helped her accomplish her lifelong dream to become a dancer. Diana became bored with school and decided to drop out at age sixteen. Her grades were not the best including her O-Test (Standard Testing) which she failed. Her father, John Spencer, sent her away to a Swiss Finishing School but after a semester she became homesick and moved back home (Diana Par. 8). Although she did not enjoy school or even finish it, she is still shown as admirable because looking at her now, she had many successes in life.
