A. In learning our past most would say that we must study our history. History is a series of events that were written, recorded or maybe was passed down by telling newer generations. What about the ones that were not recorded, written and told, it is called prehistory. Prehistory means literally "before history", from the Latin word for "before," præ, and Greek ιστορία. Prehistory can start in any time line. Like might begin in the beginning of the universe or the start of humans to appear in the world. Prehistory is also known to be primitive, for it is before civilization. Even before early scientist studied early tools and how to use them, they were intrigue from where did our technology start from?

History is everywhere. Each country has his story to tell. History for western countries is writing of events. May it be a trial of a murderer who have killed 25 people or a festival in a small village. We treat our history before as something which is important or relevant. Trivial things and event that were grievous for us are forgotten. So things that were useful for daily life were pass down by a father to his son or by a mentor to his apprentice. Events about festivities are also remembered. This thing were remembered to make them happy and to make them stay positive. Making bad happenings meaningless and forgotten. It might be got for short term span, but we also need to know what happen in those dark times, so we can assess and avoid the same mistake. Even today we still have this habit of forgetting the bad events. Just like when Manny Pacman our famed boxer was defeated. We tried not to talk about it, but when he wins are joy know no …show more content…
The book really turned my head. It showed me that we were awesome before the Spaniards came. Women were assertive and very sexually experienced. It made me think, what if the Spaniard never came to the Philippines. What could have happened? If was born in those times, I think my life would be a lot better in a little way. Philippines now is the only Christian country in Asia. If we were not converted to Christian, we would have a diverse kinds of religions and practices. Making Philippines culture richer. We must also continue are practice, like the making of our bolos just like Japan with katana. Also traditional medicine, which may be helpful right now in our time. A. Archaeology is the study of the human past. The bones and early tools were like glass window to the past for this scientist. This discipline can help us learn, what where the first humans like, how did they survive, and what were their technologies before. This discipline also helped us to prove that were not what the westerners think of us.
B. The west thought of as savages, but we were not. The people who venture in the discipline archaeology dug bones, jar and other ancient artifacts. It showed that Philippines had an art for jars and also practice a diverse way of burying and mummifying. They also thought of us as a “dumb” race, being illiterate. But even before we already had meeting, trials and tributes, it meant that Philippines had a simple social structure even before the coming of the Spaniards.
Archaeologists are trying very hard to understand the ethnographers. They do this because they want to understand just what it is that they are digging up, and the best way to find out is to ask the people who use them. Of course they are not perfect, and some archaeologists dig competitively (almost like tomb raiders), but overall, we can learn a lot about ancient people from the work of these two groups of scientists working together with the past and the present.
In the Paleolithic Era, technology played an important role. Compared to today’s technology Paleolithic technology is quite inferior, but to the people of the Paleolithic Era their technology was of paramount significance. Their tools made of stone, their sharpened sticks, their command of fire, and their development and use of speech were all technologies that made their way of life possible. These technologies helped to give them control over the things in their environment. Without these things, life as they knew it could not exist.
- It is important to remind people of history because it teaches them about previous happenings. It shows that for every action there is a consecuence, therefore every action or decision you make will have an effect that will impact your life and the life of the people around you. It also gives you an insight of what happened years ago so that in the near future, we are prepared well enough to make the right decisions in order to avoid reliving similar or previous events.
One of the questions I’ve always asked in my history classes, is “Why do we need to know about all this stuff that happened so long ago?” Last year, my history teacher, Mr. Slater, gave me an answer. He said we need to learn about history, or we will be doomed to repeat our past mistakes.
History. What is history? History is not just a complete story from the perspective of a man nor women. But it is a replica that tells the story of our communities, cities, countries, and the world. History by definition is the account of change over a period of time. For centuries, people have altered the environment in order to meet their needs. The effect of these changes have brought upon both positive and negative effects on the environment, societies, and regions. Some include the development of irrigation in ancient Egypt, the construction of chinampas by the Aztecs, and the mining of coal in Great Britain. Throughout time, many of the ancient civilizations have gone through inconvenient setbacks while trying to complete their goal. Nevertheless,
In the same way as knowledge of the past helps to improve computers, it also improves the quality of life for mankind. Knowledge of our past helps us to see how humans react and deal with situations. this allows us to take preventative measures. There was a time when mankind was always at war with each other. Everyone was fighting to take each others land, food, and technology. Since then the United Nations have been created to prevent such types of pointless wars and now there are police which enforce the law and a government in which power lies in the people. There have been many bad times for humans in all parts of the world throughout history. There have been big and small wars with huge death tolls, small battles, famines, depressions, slavery and countless others events which could have been prevented if we had known what the outcome would be. Just as a person learns from their mistakes, knowledge of our history helps us to learn from our mistakes giving us insight into the future. Many events that have happened in our past no longer plague the world today. Slavery used to be prevalent ...
History is a story told over time. It is a way of recreating the past so it can be studied in the present and re-interpreted for future generations. Since humans are the sole beneficiaries of history, it is important for us to know what the purpose of history is and how historians include their own perspective concerning historical events. The purpose and perspective of history is vital in order for individuals to realise how it would be almost impossible for us to live out our lives effectively if we had no knowledge of the past. Also, in order to gain a sound knowledge of the past, we have to understand the political, social and cultural aspects of the times we are studying.
History is very important for everyone, and everyone should learn about history. Learning History can help to learn about people situation and life from the past. It also helps to know about many events and even some fact from the past. When people want to learn history, they should search about any subject or event from the past and tries to learn the both side of the subject. They also need to try to find what is hidden from that subject, so they can learn more about it. They also need to find out who wrote the subject that they learn about, for not all the historian show the bad side of the event, and they just show the good side. When people know they both side the can have a good judgment about the event. For example, before taking the
The only known recorded history of the Philippines is the Laguna Copper Plate Inscription, but even this is outdated as the estimated date for its inscription is during the 900s (Morrow). This presents issues for modern day contemporaries such as Dolan and Francia as the information provided is biased. Statistics of modern day Philippines will be used to show the impact of the Spanish in modern times. Section B: Summary of Investigation Up until the mid 1500s, the islands of the Philippines maintained autonomy. Before the conquering of the Philippines by the Spanish, the Philippines had its own form of rule.

History is a body of knowledge that has surrounded not only the events of the past but also their consequences. History is concerned with evidence about human beings who have lived in the society. It’s so concerning with how human lives have changed through time. It’s not only the explanation about the distant past but also that contemporary world. History is concerned with people in the society, their interaction and their relationships with their environment. History had an impact on society because interaction between society and its past is an unending one, the interaction is mutual and continuous. The past exists only in the mind and memories of those in the present. Since history is said to be concerning with people in the society, their
History is the bridge that connects the past with the present. Without history, we have no future. The past gives value to our present. David C. McCullough stated, “History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are”. I agree with McCullough, history gives us a purpose. History allows us to investigate and interpret the past in order to see how we developed and where we came from. We can get an idea of what has influenced our past and present, and also what will shape our future. We can see what previous generations did and whether or not t...

When most people think about history they remember a boring class they took in school a long time ago, they recall memorizing important dates, taking map tests, and falling asleep while listening to a lecture. The truth is that history really is an important subject to be teaching students. Things that happened in the past are still changing things that are happening today. History is needed for everyone, from government leaders down to individuals; everyone has learned one thing or another from history at some point in their life.
