and when students were not following them I would ask them “what did it say on our classroom expectations sheet?” During my practicum experience I have made many lifelong connections with other teachers at LA Matheson. I would not have gotten through my practicum it was not for Manny, Preet, Annie, and Sandeep. I always knew that if I was having an off day or just needed someone to talk to I could go have a conversation with any of these teachers. I also got the opportunity to meet some of the grade eights parents twice, one time after an assembly and one time during parent and teacher conferences. Last but not least, the4 relationships that I have formed with my own students and other students in the building was a highlight for me. Many students showed that they genuinely liked to be in my classrooms, and seeing them say hello to me in the hallways always brightened up my days; even the friends of my students that I did not know would say “Hello Ms. Gill.” I believe one of my strengths throughout my PDP experience was my ability to form maintain ethical and functional working relations with my colleagues and parents and relationships of support and care with my students (Goal 4). An even or insight that I believe that had the most impact on me was the importance of scaffolding and seeing the positive affect that this could have on the students as well as on their work. Throughout my practicum, I got to see how scaffolding truly helps to support all the learners in your class, both the ones that are high achieving and the ones that need more time and support; I was responsive to students’ individual learning
