In this report I will be explaining how Pool Hayes respond to information technology developments and manage risks when using IT technology.
There are many forms of technology which are used in Pool Hayes all having different audiences and reasons for use. The main form of technology used within the school is the information systems.
How staff members use information technology developments?
The main system in use is Sims; which is a management information system that stores student and staff details. Used by all staff members within the school; Sims is built on Microsoft SQL Server with some components using flat files to store data. Sims has a number of features that suit the needs of Pool Hayes. Sims helps Pool Hayes manage student’s

Teachers were set training tasks to illustrate the full use of the product resulting in lessons becoming more interactive and engaging. Teachers are now able to make lessons more interesting, allowing students to participate in an efficient way. Smart boards also enable teachers to create presentations and carry out quizzes to engage with students.
How students use information technology developments?
In order for many students to complete work, they need computer systems. Systems are used every day by pupils at Pool Hayes whether it’s to use applications, the internet or emails. As like for staff, the pupils have a ‘shared area’ where students can access information shared by staff; this can include progress data, help sheets and homework.
Every student at Pool Hayes also has their own email using Microsoft Outlook. These can be used to communicate with other students and teachers. The email feature can also be used to communicate with technicians to get printing credit and help referring to the system. Pool Hayes has been able to grow into a shared working environment due to the development of information

This clarifies that the user agrees with the terms and conditions of the system and how they can use it.
Within Pool Hayes there are IT technicians who maintain and install software applications. They also uphold other information technology devices like printers and monitors. They also prevent site views; blocking inappropriate websites and filtering what students can/cannot visit. This is done to essentially protect pupils within the school. Sites like youtube.com are also blocked as students can find themselves easily distracted when using this link. Pool Hayes understands that when students are using computers, they should only be working. This therefore means that they cannot have any distractions in the way.
Disaster recovery is a security plan which deals with protecting Pool Hayes from the effects of significant negative events. A disaster recovery plan illustrates policies, procedures and actions to limit the disruption a negative situation could cause. This plan allows Pool Hayes to maintain or quickly resume mission-critical functions. The IT technician’s disaster recovery steps may include restoring servers or mainframes with back-ups, re-establishing private branch exchanges or provisioning local area
Technology has come a long way in the last forty years. We have so many options today to use in classrooms that we should be producing technology savoy students. One of the biggest technology tools to enter the classrooms is the use of Smartboards. At first any teacher can become overwhelmed. I mean a board that is called smart? What can this device do that will make learning to read more fun and engaging and yet be a valid form of learning? Well, with time and refresher after refresher classes, it is now clear.
devices in almost every classroom. Technology enhances learning, boosts confidence, and eliminates geographical limitations. Technology enriches learning by being able to come in different forms and do different things. "For lessons traditionally done with a paper and pencil, we now were able to do them in color, with animation, and with more depth and complexity"(McCollum). Teachers are now able to help stu...
Interactive textbooks that have youtube clips and wifi interfacing are innovations that will help students. Promethean boards, white boards, and smart boards will allow class interactions and research-based lessons for students. The use of ipads and tablets will cut the cost of textbooks and other materials. Teachers must be educated on the proper use of audiovisual arts in order to stay current. I intend to implement staff development and mentoring in order for us teachers to make reference more inligned with the way the new generation of students learn.
(Advisera) It is the different kinds of threats that the CISO and staff could face on a daily basis. With the IT Service needs to remedy the situation and reduce the impact. Also the data can be recorded and studied to determine plans to reduce future risks from happening. With the recovery aspect, there needs to be different actions that should be available when a potential risk could occur. A common practice is to have a backup of the important data in case when it is needed to be restored. After the company and CISO comes to an agreement on what is essential and what is required, that is when plans are developed and implemented. These plans should be in the daily plans and should be tested to know what went right and what went wrong. This would be a trial and error process to get it better and better and to have it tested before a real disaster, the better. So they can know the process and know what to do when it happens in real life and not a simulation.
Imagine a world where the average person lives in fear of expressing themselves. Everything from art to the news they read is constantly scrutinized to be edited to what their government decides is right. They cannot read the books they wish because other vocal minorities deem them to be offensive and politically incorrect. Their government even goes as far as to decide what is and isn’t allowed to be consumed by the country. Censorship creates this dystopian world where freedom of speech and thought is not an inherent right of the people but only for those in power.
The incident management planning report for MSI recognizes and affirms the importance of people, processes, and technology to the corporation. The specific risks MSI faces on a
Introduction Disaster Recovery Planning is the critical factor that can prevent headaches or nightmares experienced by an organization in times of disaster. Having a disaster recovery plan marks the difference between organizations that can successfully manage crises with minimal cost, effort and with maximum speed, and those organizations that cannot. By having back-up plans, not only for equipment and network recovery, but also detailed disaster recovery plans that precisely outline what steps each person involved in recovery efforts should undertake, an organization can improve their recovery time and minimize the disruption time for their normal business functions. Thus, it is essential that disaster recovery plans are carefully laid out and updated regularly. Part of the plan should include a system where regular training occurs for network engineers and managers.
Although some teachers still use regular boards, most teachers use smart boards to teach. These boards are like ordinary boards except these are controlled by a remote control pen. By just clicking on the board questions can be written in a variety of ways and in any color you want. The final piece of tech that is mainly used in the classroom is a variety of websites that provide tests, quizzes, and assignments that students can access with a certain username and password. Research has found that all types of technology are changing the way teachers teach forever (usnews.com).
The interactive whiteboard has been in use in the corporate arena for many years and has been successful in making impact on customers through a seamless presentation of data. The interactive whiteboard has made a jump to the classroom and has been able to have just as significant of an impact but for many different reasons. The interactive whiteboard has become a tool to engage students, provide for student involvement in the learning process and has generally made learning more fun for both teacher and student. There are many articles about the use of interactive whiteboards and there have been researchers throughout the world measuring the benefits that these boards are providing to the impact of learning and delivery of knowledge.
In the past, technology was something that was only used in our homes and by the wealthy. However, this has become a thing of the past. Classrooms have become more interactive and lessons seem to be more engaging. Students have been given the opportunity to use Smart Boards, document cameras, projectors, and wireless slates. In order for our students to feel comfortable, when using the different technologies, they must have some amount of background knowledge. If a student is not given this background knowledge, they will have more difficulty utilizing the technology than someone who has the background knowledge. Teachers in classrooms today must also have some type of knowledge of the technology being used. A great way to build this knowledge is to attend training sessions that your district may be holding, and utilize the technology as much as possible.
Computers were first introduced into schools in the late 1950, however, at that time they were only used by large universities for clerical work such as accounting, payroll, and for storing student records. Computers began to emerge more and more in the 1950, but it was still uncommon to see computers in schools. Today, one will find that quite the opposite exists. Since 1977 there has been a rapid growth in the use of computers throughout schools. Today the average public elementary school has 110 computers and 98% of these schools have access to the Internet. The ratio of students to computers, as of the year 2000 is less than five students per computer (Kafer np). Since their first appearance they have greatly changed education and have proved to be useful, valuable resources both in and out of the classroom.
Computers have been in the schools since the 1960s, but they were not used in the same capacity as they are used today. The use of computers is still expanding, and the future of education is very exciting when the full extent of this revolutionary phenomena is realized. In the 1960s computers were not widespread and most people who were educated during this decade hardly remember them at all. In the 1970s computers became smaller and less expensive, but the schools still did not use them much throughout most of the decade. By the end of the seventies, computer use in the schools started to increase. Students began to have hands-on experience.
Technology properly used in the classroom has many advantages to a student’s learning. Technology can help students become more involved in their own learning process, which is not seen in the traditional classroom. It allows them to master basic skills at their own rate rather than being left behind. Teachers and students alike can connect to real life situations by using technology in the classroom; this can also help to prepare students for real world situations. Technology can be used to motivate students as well as to offer more challenging opportunities. It can also be used as a visualization tool to keep students interested in the subject that is being taught. When technology is used effectively, students have the opportunity to develop skills that they may not get without the use of technology (Cleaver, 2011). Assessing and monitoring students is easier on the teacher because of the ability to use technology in the classroom. When technology is used correctly it offers limitless resources to a classroom atmosphere.
Active involvement in class discussions and incorporating technology are techniques that could be used when trying to engage student’s interests. Interactive based learning provides an opportunity to become actively involved in the discussion instead of just listening to an instructor throw huge amounts of information their way. Using technology is a way for students to become active in their learning. Tools such as interactive white boards enable children to engage in classroom games, view websites, and review problems step by step. As technology is advancing students rely on teachers integrating technology into their lessons more frequently. In traditional lectures the teacher gives a large quantity of material, but if the student is not paying attention, does learning occur? By incorporating learner response devices where students can electronic...
The classroom is a place that is constantly trying to be improved for the betterment of students’ education. New teaching methods and improvement in environment are all constantly being researched; however, recently, research on technology in the classroom has flourished. The Smart Classroom contains these technological advances and triggers them toward in-hancing student learning.
