Netiquette and civility a growing problem in higher education
One of the biggest issues within higher education is academic honesty and integrity. With higher education comes higher moral standards. Everyone should be familiar with proper manners; we were taught to have them as young children. The use of the Internet is no different. The online learning environment is usually a welcoming environment. Online college students come from all walks of life and have their own beliefs. There is proper and improper netiquette and civility in the online education. How you choose to interact with others is your personal responsibility.

Case study on Plagiarism and proper netiquette among college students
There was a case study showing the effects of plagiarism and student netiquette. With the study the professors analyses 429 assignments. The purpose of the study was to detect the amount of plagiarism within student papers, as well as how to efficiently check for plagiarism
The study found that although manually checking for plagiarism can detect some cases, it detected about “3 percent of plagiarized papers.” (Jocoy &DiBaise, (2006)“The most accurate way to check for plagiarism was Turnitin.com Turnitin.com has a detection rate of 13 percent among the same assignments”.
