Pitbulls Should Not Have A Bad Reputation

In the 21st century the pit bull has a bad reputation because of what they used to do and what some of them still do. But some believe if they have an owner that is good and that cares the dog with be a nice dog, but if you have an owner that is a bad owner and that beats the dog or fights the dog yes that dog is gonna have some fight in him because that's all it knows. So pitbulls should not have a bad reputation because of what the owner does to them pit bulls should be equal in the dog world.
Pitbulls were made to fight, but that does not mean they have to fight. From the time they were created to now people make it seem like they are just a violent killing dog and there not. It’s what get portrayed on the news and social media what makes them seem like a bad dog, but they won’t show the pit bulls that will protect the house or even be a comfort dog for people that have been in war. Pit bulls are so much more than just an attack dog or a do to fight and kill another dog.

Pitbull owners argue that studies show that the pitbull breed itself is no more dangorues than any other breed but rather its the culprits that are irresposible owners who train them to be aggressive and combative.

The people who train the dogs to be agrssive and compative are most likey doing it for profit from the dog. Or the dogs become that way if the dog is living in proverty.

During WWI and WWII, pit bulls were used as the mascot for the U.S.” The more notable of the first war-dogs was sergeant stubby. Sergeant Stubby has been called the most decorated war dog of WWI and the only dog to be nominated for rank and then promoted to sergeant through combat. He served 18 months on the front lines in 17 battles and 4 different campaigns. Sergeant Stubby is just one example of the many other Pit Bulls that have served their country in war time.”
Pitbulls are strong and athletic with boundless stamina and enjoy activities that in include agility. They execl in weight pulling contest and many herd cattle herding trils. Soon Pit Bulls were associated with poverty, “urban thugs” and crime. They were viewed as money-making commodities instead of family members and companions.”
When you have a pit bulls you need a good relationship with the dog. The dog is a loyal so you have to be loyal to the dog. A pit bull will do anything for there owner, they i have a big divostion. So when you have a pitbull it shows that you need to be loyal and caring to the dog so they will so that that will do the same thing for you. The best thing to do for your pitbull puppy is to let them be social around people and other animals. The sooner they dog is socialized the better and easier it will be to train it. “When you are socializing your dog you should always remain in control of the situation – have your dog on a leash and next to you. This way you can intervene before any bad behavior starts. “
“If you have already taught your dog to respond immediately to his name, even better. This way if you notice your dog start to growl at a person or animal when they shouldn’t be, you can snap their attention back to you. This is a good time to try and keep treats on you as well, to reward them for giving you their attention so promptly.”
For the pit bull to be trained well is you will have to use positive training methods. They can be stubborn but you can still teach them. It just takes time and patients, that’s why consistency is key. That’s why they love you cause you are there for them. Even if it gets tough don’t give up on the dog. If the dogs get a little rough with playing or anything, take away a toy or put it in the cage for a while till they can figure out what they did and do better with playing, and not so ruff. There are common training mistakes, not being patient enough, not being consistent enough, using negative training methods, and the lack of an open mind. Basically training a pitbull is a hard training job, but if you are an open minded person you will be fine and the dog we learn to love you for that, but if you have a closed mind the dog will notice and be more stubborn.
The difference between a good owner and a bad owner is that the bad owner is just as stuberned, and is most likely using the dog for fighting and other things. If you are using the dog for fighting and other things the dog will be aggressive toward you and other animals. This is where most animal attacks come from, because they have an aggressive owner so all they know is to be aggressive.
So now in the 21st century pitbulls have this bad reputation. They have a bad reputation because if the owner turning them into an aggressive fighter or just aggressive all around. That problem starts with the owner not the dog. Yes the dog was made for bloodsport but that doesn't mean the dog is still gonna do it. It's based on the owner so if the owner is bad than the dog is gonna be a troubled dog, but if the dog has a good owner the dog will be a good dog.
The five reason Pitbulls are misunderstood is because of myths. One, pitbull is a breeded dog. Pit bull is a genetic term that goes for several different breeds of dogs that includes the american pit bull terrier, the american staffordshire terrier, blue blood bulldog and hundreds more, because they all of similar appearance. Most people can not tell the difference between the dogs .Two, pit bulls are born to fight. Pit bull are not born or ready to fight another dog or attack people. The dog is trained to do that for profit. Three, pit bulls are naturally violent, aggressive and mean. They are not naturally aggressive, they get that way form the lack of training, if they are abused and neglected, also if you lose the lack of heath with the dog. Four, pit bulls have locking jaws. According to the “ASPCA”there is nothing special about a pit bulls jaw. So that means there jaws do not lock. Five, pitbulls have a high bite rate. Pit bulls are known as predictors in the dog world so, when it comes time do the scale for dogs bites pitbulls get the bad end of the stick with it. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association “its not possible to calculate the bite rate of a breed, because even in the small community its not know if a serious injury didn’t occur.
How can we have a different perception on pitbulls so we can get them adopted and in good homes? Before adopting a pitbull know what you are getting yourself into. Know that you will be getting a loyal dog that will protect and do anything for there owner as a long as the owner treats the dog right. If you are adopting a pitbull that has been a fighting dog in the past you would have to be sensitive with the dog so they know you care and a firm with them at the same they know you care. The pit bull wants to feel the love from its owner it does not wanna feel unwanted, because that will make it rebaile, and attack. So with adopting a Pitbull you have to have the patience and be there for the dog because all it may know is violence, beating and yelling. Adopting pit bull could be easier if people trusted them and didn’t think they were so vicious and evil, also there could be a decrease in the pitbull population in the human society if people were to take the time out of there day to train them, and don’t stereotype the pitbull because the looks can be deceiving and they won't have a home because of how they look.
Pit bulls are a loving and caring animal were made for bloodsport and in 17th century, and people still think they are violent dogs but there not. Back then the were trained to be that way now in the 21st century they are still being saw as a bloodsport dog. Even though it’s not them that did it, its the owners that do it and make the evil. If you the pitbull has a good owner the dog will be a good loyal loving dog, but if you neglect and be abusive to the dog the dog will be evil and not wanna be loyal to you and will attack you. So if you have love for pitbulls and dont wanna see it hurt and be evil adopt one and show it all the love you can, but if you just want a pitbull to make money off them than you don't need one and should not be able to get one. If you have a good a heart and want a pitbull don't forget you will always feel safe because they will protect you and care for you because they are loyal to you. A pitbull will make you proud because of its loyalty and protection it will give the family.This is why Pitbulls should not be taken for granted, they don't deserve it and the people that take them for granted need to learn that the dog they have is a unique one, because no other dog will love you and care for you like a pitbull will.
