The phrase “take it at face value” adequately describes physiognomy. Indeed, what is the value of a face, especially the permanent features on a human? Can we examine a person’s facial appearance and learn about that person’s character and future? In physiognomy, we can predict the human character and destiny with its face features or body structure. Due to this reason, we sometimes call it ‘Face reading’ rather than physiognomy. For instance, if we meet someone for the first time, we might evaluate their first looks. It shows that the physiognomy has been influenced to us deeply. Physiognomy which already occupies our lives is of great antiquity. There is evidence in the earliest classical literature, including Homer and Hippocrates. That physiognomy formed part of the most ancient practical philosophy. Over time, the development of science makes people not believe the knowledge based on unscientific grounds. People want to explain everything in scientific rules. Science also enhance the accuracy of information. This trends form the society that doesn’t want to trust anything without scientific fact and uncertainty. Unfortunately, physiognomy is perceived as the most unauthentic field to people according to these standards. In addition, with the advent of Libertarianism, the approved theory of a modern state, people began to think that future and character can’t be decided in advance and they can change them by efforts. Today, Physiognomy is interesting in that it has actually regressed as a pseudoscience, having a reasonable foundation in its early days but being refined further into nonsense as the centuries progressed. Despite what people who disagree with physiognomy may believe, it is believable by scientific, physiognomica...

In this section the importance of destiny is again reminded to us. In this story the idea of God chooses your destiny and some of us become kings and some become slaves. It doesn’t matter what you do because you can’t change your destiny God has picked out for you.
Also, our thoughts and experiences are continually impacting our genes and future generations. He proves that what we do with our genome is just as important as the genes we inherit. We can not only prolong life but be in control of what goes on in our body. Our ancestors passed down their rare genetic expressions to make the most of them and to add our touches on them from the way we choose to live. Hopefully, before it is too late, we possess the power to shape our genetic inheritance and live while facing the truth about our genes. Our genes do not determine our destiny, we do. Given the opportunity, it is of great importance to transform our lives based on prior knowledge and experiences. Our decisions will forever be changing the course of our

The choices people make lead them to where they end up, which may be interpreted as the opposite of fate. However, when some people believe something is meant to be, they are determined not to stray from where they think they should end up, even if it means throwing away their principles and values in the process. Through Shakespeare's Tragedy of Macbeth, Macbeth’s original character and values are destroyed because of the influence from the witches' prophecies, Lady Macbeth's greed, and his own hidden ambition.
Many people’s assumptions are driven by appearance but in some cases the appearance can be
“Fate is nothing, but the deeds committed in a prior state of existence”, Ralph Waldo Emerson.
More often than not, the outcomes of events that occur in a person’s life is the product of the idea of the self-fulfilling prophecy. It is that which “occurs when a person’s expectations of an event make the outcome more likely to occur than would otherwise have been true” (Adler and Towne, Looking Out, Looking In 66). Or restated, as Henry Ford once put it, “If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t, you’re right!” This brief research paper touches on the two types of self-fulfilling prophecies, those that are self-imposed and those that are imposed by others. Additionally, it gives a discussion on how great of an influence it is in each person’s life, both positively and negatively, and how it consequently helps to mold one’s self-concept and ultimately one’s self.
“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart” (Kahlil). People focus more on the outward appearance instead of the inward appearance. One’s inward appearance is comprised of their character, values, morals, and the true nature of their heart. On the other hand, the outward appearance is composed of one’s dress and grooming. The inward and outward appearance determines whether or not a person is ugly or beautiful. The choices that we make also define whether or not one is ugly or beautiful; choices made in the past can sometimes be repeated in the future.
...ed in it's course is fixed by the nature of the being's life. For the human being's life, what is inevitable, inescapable, and predetermined in its course is that for one's own life to exist it must be sustained and generated by itself.
Embarkation begins with a choice, and choice is a product of self-consciousness. We have been alive for so long, as has love and anger, resolve and obsession. With the million and one options that fight for our attention in a hyper-society like our own, reluctance can cost us everything. As a society, as a species, progress is our handle, the drive toward better and more hopeful situations is our enterprise. But the drive is also a specific one, localized and partitioned in every individual to find the next best condition. For senior preschoolers to senior graduate students to senior citizens transitioning into eternity, the origin of our motions are the same: the inescapable need to move on as where we are no longer suits us.
"At some point, things that are predetermined are admitted into consciousness” (Haynes). This studies reveals that fact that although we may be unaware the notion of free will is prevalent throughout everyday life in the actions we believe we choose to do.
In summary, the idea of self-reliance will continue to bewilder the minds of our current and future generations. In fact, this is due to the lack of a definite answer to the question. Nevertheless, I am persuaded that whether an individual be a believer or non-believer in having control of their destiny, there are forces or uncontrollable factors in life that have the ability to control a minute percentage of one’s destiny.
Humans enjoy choices. Whether the decision is putting on a coat in the morning or participating in an exhilarating activity like skydiving, every decision starts with the ability to make a choice. That ability to decide reflects a state of free will. Free will tells us we are essentially is in charge of our choices. Fate guides those who have no control over their choices. While the origin of fate and free will remain a mystery, these ideas can be traced back for centuries and found in our daily lives: in our code of ethics, politics, and religions. Kurt Vonnegut wrestles with the coexistence of fate and free will, ultimately arguing fate dominantes.
Hence, destiny is a type of “Divine Knowledge.” “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11, KJV) Scripture further clarifies that God is in control of each individual’s life from the time of inception in the womb.
Appearances are much more than how something simply looks. An appearance is how something is viewed in various facets, including the physical, intellectual, and emotional traits of the given person. There are also different points of view when discussing appearances. There are the appearances we give ourselves, and the appearances we give to others. Even though these appearances define who we are to the naked eye, they are almost never the complete truth. People characterize us based on what they see, and not necessarily who we actually are. This false sense of truth masks reality, and deceives the beholder.
