Physical Education Coursework Project
For my G.C.S.E Physical Education coursework project I have been asked
to design a six-week training program for myself and perform this
program recording the results of the program. One of the requirements
of the program is that it should be specified to one particular sport;
I have picked football to focus mine on.
I play football for my school and for a local team. For my school we
try to play one game a week against another local school or another
year from our school. The school team also tries to train once a week.
I also regularly take parts in other sports this including tennis,
cricket and other sports being participated in school such as cricket;
football and basketball
Analysis of Football: Football is a very physically demanding sport. A
game can be constantly moving meaning a player can get no real time
for a long period of rest. Due to the constant stop start style of
movement a player has during the game. This is basically the energy
produced by the respiratory system, which is used by our muscles, this
means the longer our muscles can work at a higher level for longer,
this being important in a game of football. Football is of course a
contact sport so not only is aerobic fitness necessary but also so is
strength. If a player has good strength it increases his chances of
winning 50-50 challenges, which could be crucial to the teams progress
in the game. Routines are extremely important, not only to help avoid
those injuries, but also to improve agility and speed. A football
player, whatever position he plays, needs speed and power. I will be
carrying out my training during competition so as stated I will need
to train to maintain fitness and rest a lot. I will need to rest will
be very important because if I train too much it will have a bad
effect on my body causing unnecessary injury. Therefore in my program
I must ensure that I have plenty amount of rest periods for my body to
American Football is a huge spectator sport where offensive and defensive players will use teamwork and perseverance to try and score more points than their opponent. Football is highly respected in America, where boys will try and pursue the dream of playing in the NFL (National Football Association) someday; but if you look at an average neighborhood, you will find that kids and adults of all ages love to go out and throw around the pigskin. (Lerner and Lerner 275). One thing Americans will take pride in is the college and NFL football teams they root for. People sit down with a beer and talk hours upon hours of football and two individuals can get in a heated discussion in the local sports store of whose sports team is better. Surprisingly enough, one will find the most passionate football players at the high school level. Most boys will start their football career as a young child in football programs such as Pop Warner to get a foothold and to get those involved in teamwork and friendships. These programs are usually the start to someone falling in love with the sport and making it a career choice eight years later. Football is one of America’s favorite sports. When fall season comes around, people across America are placing bets, finding out where that new sports bar is, and buying wide screen T.V’s to watch NFL on Sundays. After their team plays, they will go out and reminisce what happened that Sunday. While thousands of fans are still pumped from the NFL games they watched; small towns across America are getting ready to shut down their shops and restaurants to have the chance to make it to the local high schools football game. Ray Glier, a reporter for the New York Times, writes about football in the small town of Appala...
Keep a healthy body weight as it decreases the amount of weight that put on the tendon and muscles
I have many goals as an Athletic Training Student, and continuing my education is the biggest goal in order to be successful in my career and future goals. Eventually, I will earn a doctorate and go on to work at a professional level with a major league soccer team. I also aim to increase the knowledge and awareness of mental health within the field of athletic training.
During a football playoff game, your is driving down the field to score, when the quarterback’s ankle gets stepped on by another player. The athlete, the player, the coach and the fans are all counting on the athletic trainer to get that player ready to go back into the game. The athletic trainer would need to help get the player back on the field if possible. This is why I would like to be an athletic trainer. Athletic trainers specialize in areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, assessment, and rehabilitation. With this degree my choices of employment can be numerous from working with a sports team to in the healthcare field.
of physical fitness as a whole. It is not enough to periods between your workouts.
Walking on the street, jumping the fence, running the race, swimming in the pool or playing a football, if you keep on doing this, you are doing a wonderful job. Being a physically active not only improves your physical health, it also helps you built mentally strong. Physical activity encourages the brain to work at optimum capacity to increase productivity and helps to release the endorphins (the chemical produced by the brain) to make brain and body relaxed. The first step in life for prevention and management of disease and disorder is exercise. Exercise and Physical activity gain the attention of researchers regarding treatment of different psychopathological Disorder. Many research shows that involving in physical activity and exercise
Throughout an educational discourse, inclusion is a highly debated subject throughout the curriculum. During the past decade, there have been exceptional levels of funding and resources solely aimed at physical education and school sport within the United Kingdom (UK). The DFE suggests that 57% of children with SEND attend a mainstream school (DfES 2007). Physical Education (PE) has been a rising topic of discussion due to decrease in activity and an increasing level of child obesity within the UK(Coates and Vickerman 2009). There are various implemented strategies such as Physical Education School Sport and Club Links (PESSCL) and Physical Education and Sports Strategy for Young People (PESSYP), which are instruments to ‘direct and guide practice and policies’ (Fitzgerald and Stride, 2012). Using these governmental strategies, schools try and challenge and attempt to increase participation and engagement with the aim of providing ‘high quality PE lessons’ (Griffin 2012), which targets the government initiative particular the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to encourage an promote inclusive PE and school sport (Green 2009). Additionally, Fitzgerald and Stride (2012) distinguish on the concluding issue of inclusion should be recongised as part of a broader international concern to promote inclusive education (Forlin et al. 2008). There are various aspects, which are of high debate within inclusion regarding the national curriculum, initial teacher training and experiences of student and teachers.
The goal of this paper is to inform others of my reasoning why physical educators are important and why it is my dream to become one. There are three main points I would like to discuss: the value of physical education ,being a role model ,and why it is my dream to become one.
It is important that you maximize the exercise and take proper rests in between. It is also important to drink enough fluids and eat a balanced meal. Eating, sleeping, and exercise are all equally important if you want to be in tip-top shape.

Any progress in physical fitness can help boost your capacity when working as well as the ability to respond effectively in an emergency situation.
For as long as I can remember football has been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. When I was first born my grandfather said that I was solid and built to play football. I used to throw the football with my mother when I was a toddler and she always told me that when I tried to tackle her I hit really hard. My first organized football experience was when I was five. I had just moved to Manassas, VA from Washington, D.C. in 1994. It was around fall and that was right at the beginning of football season in the area. I remember telling my mother that I wanted to play, so she looked for a local organization for children. She came across the Greater Manassas Football League (GMFL) and that is where I began to play the game I love.
A teaching philosophy is critical in my role as a future successful teacher. It will guide me in the way I conduct myself, how I develop curriculum, and how I establish order in my classroom. As a teacher it is important for me to be consistent with how I manage my classes. With a central philosophy as a backbone it will be easy to follow my own simple guidelines.
The lack of exercise is one of the most health-related issues in today’s society. Many individuals fail to realize how important exercising is to life. The human body is meant to stay in motion, if we do not exercise daily we are easily prone to different diseases and health issues over time. Exercising daily can help reduce health conditions and diseases, improve brain functions, reduce stress and mood, improve your sleep, and strengthen your bones and muscles.
One out of every three children in America are considered obese or overweight (“Overweight”). America is at a point to where people want everything easy and fast. Last year, McDonald’s served 69 million customers a day (“Our Story”). These people are at home watching TV on their couches and eating this fast food. I think this is a huge factor to why obesity is at a high. The lack of exercise is a global pandemic. Only three out of ten Americans exercise regularly (“Information”). But for many students, the only exercise they may get is at school in a PE class. I feel like PE is a great class, but gets overlooked as a waste of time. The importance of teaching physical education is taken for granted. We can attain healthy habits, get exercise, and have fun while doing it. I believe physical education classes should be maintained and emphasized more than they are now. Most people view it as just an easy class but in reality, it could benefit our generation in the long run, and help make for a healthier future.
