Philosophical Worldview There are many different things that need to be considered as someone is establishing their worldview. A worldview, “involves recognizing the structural goodness of the creation, that is, the creation itself is not the problem, and was, in fact, designed to honor God” (Learning for the Love of God, 2014, p.28). As a person grows and matures, their worldview will most likely change, sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally. Metaphysics, including what is ultimately real, view of the material world, and view of humans, epistemology and how do we know, ethics, what is right and what is wrong, and finally religion; including the existence of God and His character all shape a my worldview.

God placed seeds of knowledge in me when he created me, but I have to work to make it grow and to use it. By reading the Bible, surrounding myself with likeminded people, and most importantly walking with God, I expand that knowledge. I allow God to work in my life and guide me through each choice because with him I will get to the destination that he planned for me. People think they know what will happen in their lives, but that is not possible, only God has this kind of knowledge. My Christian worldview or dualism considers both the material and spirit world or reality is mind and matter together. I know that knowledge is justified beliefs about reality and I know that I gain knowledge by using my perceptions or senses, I rationally think about things to gain knowledge, I use prior experiences to remember things, and I have knowledge revealed to be by God. Using these ways to gain knowledge, I can have correspondence knowledge and coherence knowledge. Correspondence knowledge is a truth that corresponds with reality, coherence knowledge coheres with other beliefs. I use all of these things to base my Christian worldview. I know that all truth is God’s truth. I know that God reveals truth to me through various ways including nature, scripture, and Christ.
