Harry, named at birth as Erich Weisz, had an unsettled childhood. He was born to a father who was a Jewish Rabbi and was one of seven children. At the age of four, he moved with his family to the United States of America, where he the family changed its surname to Weiss. At first, they lived in Appleton, Wisconsin, but then moved to New York City when he was at the age of 13. He took on a lot of odd, magic-related jobs while calling himself “Ehrich, the Prince of the Air”. He began to get interested in trapeze arts and performed in many small places like museums and side-shows.

John Audubon is arguably the greatest American artist-naturalist that has lived. (Pg.17 of source #4) He was intrigued by the natural world and at the same time enjoyed the elegant feeling painting brought him. Although he is not the first artist to attempt to paint and describe all the birds of America, “he was the young countries dominant wildlife artist for over half a century. Audubon used his artistic skills to portray American birds in their natural habitat. His knowledge on birds, the environment and artistic practices made his work extremely different from others. Through his art he dismays an intense affection for birds by using a scientific and objective approach. His passion for exploring the beauty of birds and the nature that surrounded them lead him to create paintings that are well known today. The natural world and scenes from everyday life are common themes that are portrayed throughout his works.
As caged animals, birds represent internal feelings of confinement and delimitation. While roaming and flying freely above open seas, birds emit emotions of self-reliance and freestanding independence. The imprisonment or liberty of birds throughout the storyline of The Awakening is the symbolism that Chopin utilizes to discursively illustrate the societal limitations and boundaries that are placed upon Edna. For the duration of the novel, vivid bird imagery elucidates both the struggle and freedom that she constantly encounters. One exemplification of this includes how Edna notices the “green and yellow” parrot that hangs outside of Madame Lebrun’s home. Edna is somewhat irritated by the sh...

Through all of Harry’ recollections of his life he wonders where all his time went. He starts to think about how he has wasted he life and talent with the “enemy”; money, rich women, and soft living all symbolizing the forces of corruption. Proverbs 16:9: The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
Its eyes were dull and, even as Harry watched, a couple more feathers fell out of its tail” (155). Fawkes bursts into flames before Harry’s eyes, making it obvious that Harry lacks the knowledge on the power of phoenixes. Although Fawkes dies only moments after Harry notices the sickly bird, Fawkes’ life returns within the pile of ashes. Dumbledore explains that Phoenixes hold tremendous power from holding large and heavy objects to healing tears as well as make “highly faithful pets” (155). This shows that despite the sickly state of Fawkes, he is a powerful creature and comes to Harry’s aid when facing the Basilisk in the chamber of secrets.
All to often, readers get tired of reading books or essays because they lose interest or can not keep the reader’s attention. However, Harry Potter is quite different. The main reason why it is delightful and fun for people of all ages to read Harry Potter is because everyone can relate to a character or conflict in the book. Not being accepted, being self-conscious of what others think, dealing with bullies overcoming obstacles and living up to people’s standards are all situations that we deal with in our everyday life and all those situations can be found throughout the book. For example Draco Malfoy, plats an insolent, and unpleasant student at Hogwarts who is constantly challenging and bullying Harry. Harry is also somewhat of a celebrity, being the son of two prestigious and intelligent wizards. He is constantly trying his best to prove himself while trying to live up to his teachers and friends. In the book the characters assume that Harry is this perfect and equitable wizard who should know how to do certain things. Well, because Harry grew up with his relatives, the Dursleys, who treat Harry with no respect and are cruel and very distant to him. He feels unwanted and unloved. All to often in our society children are abused or mistreated and we sometimes don’t hear about it or are not aware of it because the children may have been forced to silence because of fear of what might happen if they do talk.
