In middle school, people change and decide who they are going to be. Many habits start here, and one of them is a huge problem, littering. Yes, some kids start littering in late elementary school but it is never stopped, and there are never consequences in school. I believe students who litter should face consequences for their actions. Right now, as 7th graders all we have done is pick up what they have littered and they just keep littering, facing no consequences. As they grow up, they continue to litter on school ground because they face no consequences and as adults they litter. Making a consequence for the kids who litter will make them realize that they will get in trouble and stop the habit. Littering must stop, for our wildlife depends on its end and wouldn't we all love to have a beautiful litter-free world? Beaches with no dead birds filled with plastic? We should aim to stop littering from going to the next generations.
If I walk around right now I could find loads of plastic and trash just lying around on the ground. Near trees, on the field, and even in the middle of the quad where everyone could see, but did nothing. As 7th graders, we should do more to prevent this. Telling that

I mean, anyone could say the place and during lunch or break it just get someone else in trouble? Well, I think teachers or others could debunk any lies, after all it can be pretty obvious. I think before you file the report you have to get it from your teacher. You would talk to the teacher about it, which will throw off most liars. Those who lie should get lunch detention to. After all, taking advantage of a program that is trying to keep your school clean is pretty rude and selfish. Being that our school is near the coast, we need to keep it clean and litter-free. Some litter that others drop goes into our storm drains and you know where that goes? The ocean, to which once again will kill even more of our
At my school, I am an active member of a program called S.E.E.D., which stands for Students Ending Environmental Destruction. As a group, spread awareness about recycling, water conservation and remediation, climate change, and other environmental problems the world faces today. We make sure that every classroom has a recycling bin and informative posters above them. We have hosted movie nights where we provide healthy, GMO-free refreshments and show an educational film that relates to a current issues to spread awareness. We have also convinced our school to install stations that are specifically meant to refill water bottles as it encourages students to stop buying plastic bottles and wasting plastic. Taking care of the environment and educating our youth, the congressmen, women, and voters of tomorrow who will be the deciding factors of the earth’s health, and consequently the people’s health, is crucial to me.
In conclusion, littering needs to be terminated all together, though it will take more than a couple of months, it is possible. With a couple of community service organizations in Indianapolis trying their best to pick up all the litter, that is a first step towards a cleaner and healthier environment. The consequences of litter are very harmful and yet, more people are littering everyday not knowing what that they are putting themselves at risk. If cops become stricter about this law and look out for more litterers, and make the punishment much stricter, I believe in the future, littering will be much more uncommon and the environment will look more beautiful.
Pollution is affecting many individuals and life, as we know it. We need to do something about how it’s affecting our world. That’s why I urge the issue that more people should realize that pollution is an issue that needs to be prevented because of its negative consequences. Which are health affects, the total destruction of environments, and the death of animals and plants. More awareness must be brought up amongst the people and they must realize the long-term benefits it has for the world.
Recycling is the practice of reusing old products to create knew ones in order to essentially “re use” them. In theory, this process is supposed to work perfectly, but because of other factors it doesn’t. The whole idea of recycling is supposed to lead, eventually, to a world where everything will be recycled and used over and over again; thus, no more mining, cutting down tress, and other jobs that require people to do some sort of labor in order to create a certain type of object. The process of recycling would in due time, end these types of labor. Recycling is not entirely a good thing because not everyone does, it requires unnecessary funds, and it takes away many jobs.
We always hear "do not litter!" or "throw your litter in the bins", maybe some of you bored to hear that yet we still do not throw it in the correct place. Litter is a serious habit problem to just throw away objects on the ground or leave them lying on the ground, instead of putting them in the garbage can. In Indonesia, the amount of litter is 175.000 ton/day and this is increasing every day. But we don't have to see that far, just look around us, our campus, Sanata Dharma University is still facing the littering problems. Each day, although there are various spots of bins and it is never full yet there are many litters lying in the floor, you can see the student hall as the evidence that even though it has 10 spots of bins, we still find people throwing their litter everywhere.
From then on, I always see some videos of recycling and secondary using subconsciously. I make the best use of everything. I think school gives an innovative thought that be used as a part of everyday life as an interest. From my angle along, no one is willing to waste. Thus, do more propaganda might help a lot.
At my school we have a little league baseball field that need some work done to and it and it needs to be cleaned up. It is a great idea to clean up the field for the little kids that want to play baseball because this keeping them out of drugs and bad things that will get them out of trouble. I was always taught to respect nature. My parents told me to be kind to animals and to not throw things on the ground (like trash). It seems to me that not enough people are teaching those same values today. If you are in doubt, just take a walk through City Park. I go there every Tuesday afternoon for baseball practice, and I have a game there every Saturday. Believe me when I tell you that City Park is a mess. The baseball fields need repair. Trash is all over the
Attention Getter: Most of the people present here today probably recycle; some more than others. And probably, most people assume that they are saving natural resources and helping the environment. However, this is not always true.
PURPOSE: To persuade my audience that we must take action now to control air pollution
I strongly agree with Pope Francis that if we teach younger generations not to be wasteful and show them how to be resourceful, then it won’t be such a struggle in the future. "Education in environmental responsibility can encourage ways of acting which directly and significantly affect the world around us, such as avoiding the use of plastic and paper, reducing water consumption, separating refuse, cooking only what can reasonably be consumed, showing care for other living beings, using public transport or car-pooling, planting trees, turning off unnecessary lights, or any number of other practices.” (211). There are so many new ways to help reduce our use of natural resources that if from a young age we are taught these methods then we could help save our planet. “All of these reflect a generous and worthy creativity which brings out the best in human beings. Reusing something instead of immediately discarding it, when done for the right reasons, can be an act of love which expresses our own dignity.” (211). Again, I agree with the Pope that recycling and reusing makes you feel good because you are making an active contribution to reduce climate
Do you know that there are about three trillion pounds of garbage on Earth? Sadly, these pieces of garbage kill animals when they eat the garbage because the garbage has a lot of harmful pathogens which sometimes give them serious diseases. Even the air pollution in the landfill can also harm the animals which can be a real danger to them because they can die or suffer in pain. If people recycle, then it wouldn't create this problem which is going on the world. People should recycle because it saves energy, reduces landfills, and saves money.
When most people hear the word recycling they think of plastic water bottles, milk jugs, or even old paper that they can reuse, but this is not necessarily the case anymore. Scientists and researchers have discovered a new form of recycling that is going to help better the environment and it can even help make people money! Smokers around the world do not think about recycling their used cigarette butts, but this new form of recycling has changed some of their minds on this subject. Recycling has been a major environmental issue, but most people have forgotten about it or they just do not care for it anymore. Paper recycling dates back to as far as 400 B.C. Some people even say that the early Romans recycled their bronze coins so that they
Smoking is not only bad for health it is also as bad for the people
In the 1870’s, plastic was discovered in the United States when John Wesley Hyatt was trying to create a different material to make billiard balls (Manrich, 3). Little did he know it would majorly evolve into material we use everyday. However, plastics are now taking over our landfills. The average American throws away one-hundred and eighty-five pounds of plastic a year (Popescu, 121). The answer to decrease this statistic is easy: recycling. I believe that recycling will help eliminate littering and the growth of landfills, while also creating jobs for the unemployed. Not only does recycling plastic help eliminate littering, but also reuses the plastic so there is not a production of additional unneeded plastics. The
Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.
