How is it possible that people are joining the military just to have half of them leave during training? Compared to previous years, 40% of 16-year-olds aren’t joining the military anymore. In fact, majority of the people who join the military are 18-year-olds. 18 is the age where people are officially considered as an adult; however, this is the time where people should be focusing on education and college into consideration. People should be able to represent their country by joining the military; the age requirement is 18, which is an appropriate age to join the military. Being an adult means trying to make money to earn a living. Teenagers are more vulnerable to snatch any opportunity as fast as possible or they might lose the opportunity all together. 18 is the time where people would mostly be trying to find jobs. By adding military onto college would be a big hassle because they are forced to balance school and work; although, this allows them to be able to be flexible and reasonable to any changes to be able to make it through the day.
