Since the first upcoming of human life there has been extinction. Animals and other living things have developed, flourished, and vanished since the first flickerings of life. Through the process of evolution, more successful types of animals replace those that are less successful. Sooner or later, every species or kind, of living thing dies out because it can’t keep up with the natural changes in its environment. In recent times, many species have passed out of existence sooner than they would have naturally. The problem is that animals are getting extinct faster that we thought and we are running out of time to save them. In order to solve this problem we need to create habitat preservation, habitat restoration, anti-poaching measures, wildlife corridors, and laws and policies. This is what we owe back to the animals of the world for making their lives harder to survive by changing their way of life, from global warming to destroying forests to build skyscrapers, to bad energy resources. Many argue that other considerations must be taken into account before making extreme decisions. As a nation we are continuing to develop at a very rapid pace. In order to continue to develop we must have the land to build on. This act places restrictions on many parts of the country, hindering the growth of business. The costs that are required to implement many of the laws and do the research needed are extremely high. Things like land surveying, security, and law enforcement are all ongoing costs that must be taken on by the taxpayers. Some of the animals that are on the endangered species list are very dangerous, but it is still a crime to harm them. This poses very large issues with ranchers and other private landowners who encounter these animals on their personal
.... Some animals face endangerment because of human’s hunting activities and because of the climate changes. Due to the endangered rare species, people solve this problem by bringing these animals back to their natural habitat.
Beginning with the creation of the world, hunting has been over thousands of years for a number of reasons. Nowadays, hunting is considered one of the most interesting outdoor activities that have many advantages. However, hunting is a very controversial topic, for some might consider it very harmful and dangerous for the environment. Although this point of view is adopted by a part of the society, one can counter it with a numerous reasons. Hunting provides several benefits for those who partake in it and for the environment as well.
Long-term survival of a species depends on its ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions (Murphy, 1994). Genetic diversity within a species, which has taken 3.5 billion years to evolve, makes adaptations to these changing environments possible. Unfortunately, the rate of extinction of genetically diverse organisms is rapidly increasing, thus reducing this needed biodiversity, largely due to the human impacts of development and expansion. What was an average of one extinction per year before is now one extinction per hour and extinct species numbers are expected to reach approximately one million by the year 2000 (WWW site, Bio 65). As a result governmental and societal action must be taken immediately!
Conservationists and the ranchers that are having financial issues caring for their animals, without utilizing hunting, can take advantage of other resources to gain revenue. The ranch operators need to find alternatives to gain a source of income such as acquiring sponsors, donations, conducting guided tours or perhaps, providing educational programs. There are more humane methods of earning money than the killing of animals. Making use of the public's curiosity and interests is a resourceful tactic that can be very successful and beneficial to the economy.
Years ago, killing animals for food was part of the average man’s everyday life. While, now a days, hunting is questioned by many across the world because it is commonly viewed as a recreational activity. Many residents have a problem with the dangers that come with hunting. Not to mention, as time goes on, society seems to feel differently about animals and how they should be treated. One of the biggest debates is the harvest of white tailed deer. All over the United States, white tailed deer thrive because of the few predators that feast upon them and the large forests and habitats that these deer can flourish in. However, as buildings and subdivisions pop up left and right decreasing the white tailed deer natural habitat, the debate grows stronger. The heart of the debate is centered around ethical issues, human and deer conflicts, safety, and the benefits hunting has on the economy.
Another thing that will help you is knowing your adversary. Learn as much as you can about the game your hunting. Learn about the habits and life styles, such as when they feed or are laying down. Go deer watching. Yes that’s just like bird watching but for deer. Go sit in their natural habitats and watch the way they move, what they eat, or what happens when they hear noise. This will help you stalk deer.
In the world where people live in is an enormous responsibility but also the greatest gift that people need to cherish and protect. The human race needs to step up and voice not only their concerns, but the concerns of all the animals endangered or not. Any species which fall into the categories vulnerable, endangered, or critically endangered are considered to be at risk of extinction. {Robert Redford} said “I think the environment should be put in the category of our national security defense of our resource’s because it’s just as important as defense abroad otherwise what is there to defend?”
Taken from the only place you've ever known. Away from the only family you have. Kept in crates and cages to be sold. Removed from their home, exotic animals are put in yours for personal amusement. This act is ruinous an inhumane, it violates the basic rights of human and animals. Exotic animals have a rightful place in their natural habitats, not as pets, because they endanger the community, become sick, and their owners abandon them.
Take a second and think; think about all the stories and fairy tales you were told as you were growing up. For instance, Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf and The Boy Who Cried Wolf. All these stories establish fear of the wolf and having fear in anything only makes that thing bigger. Now because of the fear of the wolf and their growing numbers, the long endangered predator is once again the prey and the hunting needs to stop before it's too late.
"In practice, an animal that roams hundreds of miles in the wild can find itself contained in a space no bigger than a living room." - YaleGlobal. Exotic animals are not like normal cats and dogs that we see in today’s society. They are wild animals and need to stay wild. Keeping these animals can endanger the owner and the lives of others. People that have unregulated jurisdictions who spend tens of thousands of dollars on exotic animals. People should not keep these animals because it's not secure for the animal's health and they cannot be tamed, and can endanger the lives of others.
Hunting is a controversial topic. Many people think that hunting is just about killing animals; therefore, they think it is wrong. Hunting is something that people have done for centuries. It is a sport that people can learn from, so everyone should go at least once. Hunting is a tradition in a lot of families, it teaches people respect and responsibility, and it provides food for people.
Owning an exotic animal like a lion or a tiger might sound like fun, but in truth it is a tremendous responsibility. Select few people, like the staff members at a wildlife conservation center or animal rescue operation, might be fit for the task of keeping and raising exotic animals but many other people try to raise them as well. These people are, decidedly, unfit for the task and ignorant of what raising a specific exotic animal will entail. The most unfit of these people are the impulse buyers. The ones who see a cute or pretty exotic animal on TV or on the internet and decide that they just have to have one despite knowing little to nothing about the animal they have just purchased.
"The driving force behind today’s alarming decline in species is the destruction, degradation and fragmentation of habitat due to our increasing human population and wasteful consumption of resources."1 Everyday wildlife is forced to seek refuge in very remote, small areas. As the human population increases, land that was once inhabited by wildlife is urbanized to suit human needs. In other words, the land available for wildlife to survive on keeps diminishing. As houses and roads are constructed, forest are cut down and cleared; consequently eliminating the natural habitats of wildlife. This causes animals to migrate to new areas and seek refuge. Under certain, harsh circumstances, the animal may become extinct. Due to the propagation of the human species, greater and greater amounts of land are taken away from wildlife. Eventually all land will be commercialized for human needs, thus leaving wildlife lost in the shuffle. Human intervention in nature has caused disastrous effects to wildlife and will continue to occur until humans realize the outcomes of their actions.
Many people believe that the only way to get a pet is to “buy” one without considering adopting, which is why I believe people should consider looking up better options and become more knowledgeable. There are so many reasons why someone shouldn’t buy a pet from a breeder, and so many benefits from adopting a pet from your local shelter/animal rescue.
Although it may not seem saving or protecting endangered animals is important, it actually and truly is important because animals around the world are being killed for wildlife market goods which is illegal and destroys the species population in that environment. Citizens should take more concern with taking care of these endangered animals before they become totally extinct and will no longer be seen on the face of the earth. Recently researchers have found that poachers (hunters who hunt animals for their value with trading illegal merchandise) are killing thousands of animals a day, and they are doing so even to this day. These species should be treated with more responsibility and care. They are even being killed by human interactions
