In America underage drinking has become worldwide caused by teenagers not realizing the damage that drinks have on their own lives. Typically, one would try alcohol in their mid teens due being peer pressure from careless friends. In this society numerous teenagers will often attempt illegal substances to have entertainment, such as drugs, alcohol, and much more. The legal age to drink is twenty-one, but many underage teenagers already consume alcohol. By decreasing the age to eighteen it will bring multiple problems to families and friends. Being considered an adult one has to be eighteen, however most “adults” do not take wise choices. Decreasing the legal age drinking would bring much bigger obstacles to our world. It’s important to realize 5.4 millions of underage people have engaged in a binge drinking, meaning an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time. Over drinking at such a young age can cause numerous problems for their future. Due to most teenagers drinking at such a young age, harmful thoughts can come to mind. When one is drunk, their minds go off somewhere else and have careless thoughts. One would say something, then forget it in the following day, which causes arguments with ones around them. Furthermore, death can happen anywhere and anytime. Drinking can mark one’s life, and can take long-lastly to recover. This supports the statement of not decreasing the age limit. Newly adults should have time to realize what their future really means to them. Not one teenager should lose their life to one careless mistake. Thousands of teenagers are sent to the emergency room for alcohol related injuries. Injuries would increase if the age limit decrease.
