In a year could money and lives been safe? Or did we accomplish all that could have happened? This goes along with argument over wearing or not wearing seat belts, in the car. This is a widely discussed topic due to the consequences, good or bad, from seatbelts in the car. The consequences could be life threatening to the driver and anyone in the car, or, the opposite drivers believe that they feel more comfortable without a strap going around the them. These different views are obviously topics to be argued about. In 2001 the debate began when supreme court ruled to allow police to arrest people who don’t wear seatbelts, to add on, a 20 year old man, who lives in New York, was fighting against a seat belt ticket he received. The court system lost his case causing the court to get his license revoked, and he was arrested, being forced to spend time in central booking. This goes along with the police being able to arrest you for not wearing a seatbelt, as the saying goes “Click or Ticket.” There are many different perspectives on seatbelts, however, two popular ones to consider are seat belts are beneficial to wear and seatbelts are not beneficial to wear in the car. Both perspectives of this issue have ideas connected to accidents on the road, safety of people, and the cost.
Opposing Accidents
One issue with accidents is that some people consider seatbelts cause accidents while others think they prevent accidents. Creating a debate over the how accidents happen. People who believe accidents are caused by seatbelts state that when the driver is wearing a seatbelt they feel like they can not move around making them drive at high speeds and changing lanes quickly. ...e the issue of seatbelts. Some people like to say that seatbelts are not useful and don’t help, but arguing against this other people think they are useful. Both of these sides have totally different opinions. Although, some can’t help but wonder if they will always disagree. On the other hand, one side might realize the point of the other side causing no more debates, on this topic. Taking a look further in time it is possible for people to become neutral and to have the viewpoint of both opposing sides. To go along with this, society could change if things go to one side or the other. Some people might feel like their freedom is being invaded while others might feel more safe on the road with a decreased amount of reckless drivers. Furthermore, as society leads more towards one side is the country going to be torn apart and never come to a compromise?
