Preschool crafts are an essential part of any preschool lesson. Without crafts, young students will lose interest, not be able to fully understand and appreciate the lesson, and will miss out on important social time to make friends. Preschool crafts must be easy to complete, safe for children, and tie into a lesson or theme. Easy Does It Above all, preschool crafts for kids must be easy to complete. Young students do not have the attention span for long craft projects or ones that do not show immediate results. For this reason, multiple-day craft projects should be reserved for special occasions or be used in conjunction with shorter, more concise craft activities. Besides being short, crafts need to be easy to set up and take down. Because …show more content…
When preschool teachers create their own lessons or pull from another resource, they must take into account how they are going to explain the craft to their students. Teachers must be able to tell students what to do in one or two sentences for each step. By breaking things down into steps, students can stay more focused, and teachers ensure that all students are working on the same part of the craft at the same time, keeping everyone on track and making the craft look uniform. If a teacher chooses a particularly difficult craft project or one with many steps, they should practice the craft before bringing it to class. This includes not only completing the craft but practicing what to say when so that students understand the task. Providing clear instructions sometimes requires outside practice, but it will save the class time and much frustration if the teacher knows how to explain what he or she wants. Play it Safe Above all, preschool crafts must be safe for the students involved. Some craft projects include small objects, such as sequins, feathers, or buttons. It is up to the teacher to determine the maturity level of their students and decide if the students can be trusted to use materials
I try to add in the theme lesson plans an activity the child leads through being creative and with all sorts of materials available. I have observed when you allow a child to be hands on and leading the process they become more interested in the information, and excited to ask questions even to share with everyone what they made and how it fits with the lesson.
Teaching using creative methods can help develop the whole child. It can make learning experiences more exciting, more relevant, create different contexts for learning, al...
Woodworking supports a child’s creativity by allowing them to experiment and explore with materials that they have more than likely had little to no exposure to. When given the proper tools a child can build whatever they like with the wood as well. Using wood and similar materials gives children the right to be creative by thinking for themselves and deciding what they wish to create. Even if what they have made looks nothing like what they say it is to them that’s what it is, so that is what it is. When given the opportunity to explore any medium it allows for great creative growth.

There are many aspects to early childhood education including what all it contains and is being taught. People willing to teach in an early childhood center are vitally important for learning and have overwhelming benefits for the children (Teufel). Children are expected to know much more information at an early age, so it benefits children to have the opportunity to take part in a program before kindergarten.

Today when the subject of early childhood education is discussed our thoughts go to grade school youngsters or children in kindergarten. However, the focus of early childhood education indeed considers all children from birth to the age of 5 years old. This is part of our government's findings about the impact of good early childhood education. The Human Services and the Dept.
Some students attended preschool when they were younger, for some it might have been a better experience than others. Early Childhood Education has slowly become an unimportant problem for the world and it's time for that to change. Slowly technology has been taking over the way that young children are being taught in school. In many states in this country preschool programs aren't as attainable as they are in others and that's a problem . Preschool impacts overall educational performance and should be required for all children regardless of socioeconomic standing in order to ensure that all children will be successful in the future.
Make sure to have a variety or art materials such as paint, markers, crayons, glitter, and fabric ready for these learners to use.
The procedures of the lesson were quite clear and logical for the most part, the lesson went mostly according to plan, although some nerves on my part may have caused some minor changes. The children responded positively and enthusiastically to the lesson as well as participated actively during the sorting activity, answering questions throughout the lesson. I think that the activity was age appropriate as it was not too easy neither was it too difficult for the children to complete the tasks. The children seemed to be engaged in the activity and eager to participate, using the colourful handmade materials, as the activity was rather like a fun and interactive game. According to (Guha, 2002), play and language form the basis for learning about math in natural ways, and one great way to integrate math involves hands-on activities and problem-solving situations that pique your children's curiosity. There were also few interruptions throughout the lesson which helped ensure a smooth lesson flow. I also managed to keep the children disciplined and keep their volume down throughout the lesson, since it was conducted at nap time. However, there is definitely some room for improvement. During the storytelling session, some children seemed slightly disengaged, which was probably due to the length of story. I also made a mistake of asking the children a wrong quest...
I will try to prepare my lesson 100% to enhance learning. I will try to research my topic and try to integrate different resources and activities to make my lesson engaging and interesting to my students. I am able to use a variety of methods to teach a lesson to the students. This helps the students to get engaged visually, physically and verbally. I did not know, but I really like to use different resources and art materials to create something that will enhance my lesson and able to engage my students throughout the lesson. By creating and using a variety of methods and activities during the center time, I can meet the student’s needs to help them to learn.
Children’s artistic development can be fostered by making environments effective. Teachers are designers in this situation as they need to make practical and supportive environments for the children to engage in visual arts activities. The arrangement of the classroom furniture and use of materials should be adaptable to accommodate the needs of different activities (Wright, 2003). Teachers are provisioners as they provide a variety of resources for children to use which includes papers of different
