And Illegal Street racing may also cause problems with the person you race because maybe they don’t like losing and they have a short temper and they may want to try and fight you or even maybe the person that wants to fight you is just related to the person you raced but wants to fight you because he doesn’t like that your talking down on the person you raced or the persons car. Did you know that according to Times Staff news and Wire Reports 35% of all street fights are caused or because of street racing(staff,26)? According to times magazine a famous person once said a real car guy like every other car guys build because the person’s car describes who and how that person is (Daniel, 9). Just imagine how many injuries, hospital bills we can minimize if we just make street racers face a higher penalty for racing. That’s a lot of fights just for no reason. So before you decide to race think of all these things and say to yourself is it really worth
Dangers on roadways is an issue that describes the discrepancy between perception and reality of road rage. The media, for some odd reason, tends to make road rage a huge controversial issue. As seen on talk shows from Oprah Winfrey to CNN, they reveal to people that road rage could happen at any time and to always be looking over your shoulder. These talk shows and news programs also put fear into our minds by explaining that most roadragers often use guns to kill or injure their victims. Glassner contradicts the media's speculations by stating that out of approximately 250,000 people killed on roadways between 1990-1997, AAA attributed that one in one thousand was an act of road rage (pg.5).

A Mark IV Toyota Supra and Chevy Camaro SS pull up at a red light on a lonesome stretch of flat road amongst a dimming blue sky; the drivers nod at one another, rev the engines, and jam the accelerator pedals. Several possible causes to this aggressive street driving include a recent release of movies that inspire racing by the desire to fulfill the adrenaline rush raging in young people, the overall convenience of street racing, and most importantly, a way for teenagers to achieve nobility status in a short a time.

As of right now, in society the total number of drunk driving accidents is slowly but surely increasing and if nothing is done about it, it’ll result in a tragic amount of deaths and injuries. Drunk drivers are extremely dangerous not just to oneself, but to society as well. That is why one serious solution to this societal epidemic is to create a portion of the driving test where drivers will be required to be at least ten beers deep and while drunk they must drive through a set of
Most if not all teens look forward to several events in their life. One of those events are getting a driver's license. This small piece of plastic is their ticket to freedom. This ticket is more than just freedom to be able to drive their friends around but also freedom from the ritual of their parents having to drive them everywhere and embarrass them in public. Also this is a freedom to the parents as well they may save more on gas from not having to drive their children around. However, some teens are not as safe as they possibly could be if they were to take a few steps to promote good driving habits. This is evident in the article “Teen Driving”, as the author gives the reader teen driving statistics, as well as explanations of programs and steps that can improve teen driving.

Every year, thousands of people are injured or killed in car wrecks caused by road rage/ aggressive driving. Despite this fact many people still are impatient and become angry on the road. Everyday we deal with this type of driving. Everyone runs a great risk just driving around the corner to the local convenience store or just to the local church. According to U.S. News and World Report, the United States Department of Transportation estimates that two-thirds of fatalities are at least partially caused by road rage/ aggressive driving. On average two in three people will be involved in a drunk driving accident in their lifetime. Most drunk drivers drive after they’re over the legal alcohol level because they have impaired judgment. Impaired judgment makes the person think it is fine to drive under the influence. Usually, people can get out of a bar unnoticed, which means that anyone could get hurt by an accident caused by this driver. Drunk drivers should not get their licenses taken away for life, but go to jail and get a second chance.
Drunk driving is known around the world to be illegal. It wasn’t until 1910 in New York that the state adopted the first drunk driving law. Since then, most of the population has considered drunk driving a hazard for their safety. Driving with a BAC (blood alcohol count) of over 0.08 may only be a couple drinks but the result of lack of concentration is alarming. The drivers could feel fine but they still can have trouble with steering, changing lanes, and even braking.
Whistling and clicking of the tongue is how most people call a dog to get it’s attention. If that’s so, then how come 38 percent of women are whistled at monthly, and almost 95 percent at least once? Street harassment is a serious issue that needs to be stop, and although many men think a catcall is a compliment for many women it’s uncomfortable and threatening.
