Persuasive Essay On Global Warming

One of the main problem that the world is facing these days is global warming. The term Global warming refers to the continuing rise in temperatures of the atmosphere and oceans of the Earth that has been detected today, in addition it is projected to continue increasing for the future. It is still controversial the source and reason for this increase in temperature. Scientists believe that the raise is due to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases from human activities, such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels. The temperature rise is expected to be greater at the poles, mainly in the Arctic. Also retreating glaciers, and ice in the seas will be observed in the oncoming years. Sea levels are expected to increase, and the poles will continue to melt. Moreover, hurricanes and other storms will become more stronger this is because …show more content…

There are a number of factors that have an effect on sea levels, melting glaciers, including thermal expansion of the oceans and ice sheets on land. The increase in the content of atmospheres of greenhouse gas has a heating effect worldwide but especially in the oceans, they absorb much of the heat. Despite the elevated heat capacity of water, heat radiates into the ocean by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere causing water molecules to expand, thus creating extra volume of water. With concern for the melting of glaciers and ice sheets, global warming also has a enormous impact. "Average temperatures could eventually rise by 10 degrees C, enough to melt the vast quantities of water stored as ice in the glaciers of Greenland and Antarctica". Ken Caldera believes temperatures will increase more over the next years. Higher global temperatures melt glaciers and the Greenland, which flow into the oceans, increasing the amount of seawater. That will consequently disappear tiny island and even mainland, A large increase in global sea level poses many
