1. (10 points) There's many examples of Global Climate Change. Choose two of the 4 processes listed below and explain the evidence available as to how this process is contributing to climate change.
A. Sea level rise- The temperatures around the globe rise, the oceans start to warm up and water expands, the ice caps and glaciers start to melt, and more precipitation starts to fall falls instead of snow. These are some of the causes for sea levels rising. Recorded by the Department of Ecology, the sea levels have risen four to ten inches in the past one hundred years. When the climate changes it usually increases the oceans temperatures, causing water to expand which causes the sea level to rise by thermal expansion. When the water amount begins to take up more space. The sea level rising depends souly on the temperature of the ocean. Climate Change is also effected by ice glaciers melting over areas of land, which run off into our oceans. A big contribution to climate change and sea level rising is the melting ice masses of Antarctica and Greenland.

If we were able to stabilize concentrations then the atmosphere would most likely stay as consistent temperatures but would continue to warm. What role do zooplankton and the ocean microbial loop have in reducing the amount of carbon sinking down into deep ocean sediments? The light produced from the sun, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, phosphorus and many more elements. These factors help convert the carbon dioxide and the ocean water into sugars and into carbon compounds. The carbon compounds then go to the marine food web and others will wind up in the deep ocean currents and seafloor sediment. The phytoplankton in the ocean then returns carbon dioxide and oxygen into the atmosphere. The phytoplankton and microbial loop create a spinning cycle which, doesn’t allow the carbon dioxide to sink to the bottom instead it pushes it to the ocean surface. 3. In the marine ecosystem the energy from the sunlight powers photosynthesis and photosynthetic creatures like algae, seaweeds, green plants, and multiple sorts of bacteria. These photosynthetic organisms are the start of our food chain. These organisms are primary producers, which allow the ecosystem to grow. One negativity to primary production would be climate change. Climate Change is any substantial change in climate that lasts for an extended period of time. One contributor to current climate change is global warming, which is an increase in Earth’s average temperature. Plants and animal species throughout the world are being affected by rising temperatures. Many plants are flowering earlier now than they once did; animals, such as the yellowbellied marmot, are emerging from hibernation earlier; and many bird and butterfly species are migrating north and breeding earlier in the spring than they did a few decades ago, all because of slight changes in temperature cues.
