Haber Persuasive Essay
Imagine a man who saved millions and also killed millions; a man who young German students today accused as a “murderer.” Is this a good man doing evil or is this an evil man doing good? This man was known as Fritz Haber, the father of chemical warfare. Haber was like a “because I can” person. Haber wrote, "We only want one limit, the limit of our own ability,” his ego to become a patriotic German and doing all he could for his country. Doing all he could for the country, he invented a chemical gas to be used in the war called chlorine gas; many saw it as an inhumane and a wrong way to kill others, to Haber, it was a success in his creation and a win in the war. Soldiers described it to be a big cloud, covering 15 ft. tall and killing anything that got in its path; grasses turned to the color of metal, birds dropped from the sky, and with this chemical going into the trenches, French soldiers were basically drowning on land.

]Haffner, is a book which is hard to define. Only 165 pages long, Haffner has crammed more relevant information into this book than many twice its length. He observes Hitler's roller coaster ride through life and the country that he eventually took along. From Hitler's private life to the complete betrayal of Germany, Haffner evaluates the conditions and impetus for Hitler's accomplishments and failures. These include not only Hitler's psyche, but also the political arena of post World War I Europe.
Wisps of burnt-out curtains drape over shattered window frames, fluttering helplessly like a bird with injured wings. Pieces of wood collapse snapping once they hit the ground. Smoke swirls around in the wind. No sound can be heard except for the occasional sobs escaping the chapped lips of people visiting what is left of their homes. The once busy city of Amsterdam is now nothing but a city of forgotten souls. In 1942, the Franks and the Van Daans moved into a warehouse located in Amsterdam to escape the perilous world outside, where the Holocaust was taking place. Jews like the Franks and the Van Daans had their rights taken away from them. The Gestapo, the police working for the Nazis, rounded up people to be sent to concentration camps, where people worked to death. Margot Frank was one of them. Many Jews had to leave the country to escape, while the two families, and later on a man named Dussel, lived on the top floor of the warehouse called the Secret Annex. Living in such a small space and having sparse food with so many people was not easy. On weekdays, not a noise was to be made otherwise the workmen below would hear them. Food and other items had to be brought in by Miep and Mr. Kraler, who risked their lives to help the members of the Secret Annex. To keep herself company, Anne Frank wrote in her diary almost every day. Later on, her diary was published, and two authors decided that they would write a play based on the published diary, named The Diary of Anne Frank. Goodrich and Hackett created memorable characters in their play. The arguments of Christopher Browning and Daniel John Goldhagen contrast greatly based on the underlining meaning of the Holocaust to ordinary Germans. Why did ordinary citizens participate in the process of mass murder? Christopher Browning examines the history of a battalion of the Order Police who participated in mass shootings and deportations. He debunks the idea that these ordinary men were simply coerced to kill but stops short of Goldhagen's simplistic thesis. Browning uncovers the fact that Major Trapp offered at one time to excuse anyone from the task of killing who was "not up to it." Despite this offer, most of the men chose to kill anyway. Browning's traces how these murderers gradually became less "squeamish" about the killing process and delves into explanations of how and why people could behave in such a manner.

When reading the book “In Cold Blood” by Capote, Truman I came across many assertions one in particular discussing how the law is hypocritical. In the assertion it talks about killing and how it is a crime, but enforces it as punishment and justice. Thus showing how the law is contradicting itself. In my paper I hope to further explain and show how killing is in fact a crime, but can be used for justice.

On September 24, 1924 Clarence Darrow delivered a speech before Judge John Coverly. In this speech Darrow implies that the two boys, Nathan Leopold,19 and Richard Loeb,18 shouldn’t get the death penalty for murder of Bobby Franks. Although Darrow cleverly argues his point that the boys were taught that human life was cheap and even argues against inhuman methods and punishments of the American justice system. Though the boys are guilty of the crime that they committed, Darrow believes that their lives can still be saved, he weakens his argument by using insufficient and irrelevant examples. Examples such as the Civil War, what relevance does this support have and how does it relate to the trial of Leopold and Loeb? Both are way too young to experience war since they’re both still boys. Although the living conditions of children are getting lot better than when we were kids, the children study more time than we did. The pupils have to get up at earlier than 7 o 'clock to make sure they won’t be late for school. Not only have that, these pupils still had to participate in various after school program, and a lot of variety of training during the weekends. The most pressure is homework. As a summer school teacher, I always can hear kids say that the teacher gave them too much work, had to spend two hours a day to compete the homework, and have no time to play. Is it too much pressure for the kids? That is the question for most of the parents. What should the parents as should do to let these children relax and do not have that much pressure? Since the dawn of humanity, exercise has been crucial for physical survival. In recent times, however, exercise is losing its significance to human survival. Some would argue that it already has lost its significance, and as exercise becomes less important, people exercise less. According to fitness.gov, only 33% of adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week (citation). Clearly there is a problem. However, there is still a fraction of the population that exercises diligently. Why do these people stick with it? Exercise has countless advantages that are still extremely important to our lives. Throughout the years, researchers have seen an increase in time for students spent studying and in school while there has also been a decline in time spent in active sports and out-of-doors activities over the past twenty years. ( 'Changing Times of American Youth: 1981-2003 '). Teachers assign students their usual daily pile of homework which leads to students feeling stressed as to what they must complete after school. Students are expected to manage their time according to their teacher’s schedule considering that they may not even be able to complete each assignment given to them.
