In this world is full of decisions to make some are hard to make or some are easy. The most important decision that I have found that is hard to make is the choice to continue our education. In this life is all about making decision between what is right or wrong for us. Most people want the easy life but that’s the wrong decision to choose because life will never come easy. Throughout my years I have seen a lot people who want it the easy life but in the end some ended up in a grave or asking for money in the street. The easy life will only bring problems for those who didn’t want it to continue their education. There is no excuse to not do nothing in life because the desire to do something is higher than anything. When I was in middle school all of my teachers used to tell us to get ready for a long run to success when you graduate from high school. I also remember they used to tell …show more content…
I was in the lower level. In my freshman year in high school I was stuck with the higher level student from middle school. I saw a chance to show them that they are not different from me. The reason why because they believe they were smarter than everyone in middle school. I used to always asked myself “what make them different from me?” the answer was simple “nothing” I had set a goal to surpass them in academically and I did. My desire was overwhelming at that time. My life truly change when I was in high school. In high school I had many choices to make between doing good or bad in school and even dropping out of high school. But what made me stay and start doing well in school? Everything started when I was vesting my surgeon office for my regular checkup. Right there it was where it hit me to go to college. I liked the way he treated all of his patient and how he did the surgery. For me he was a hero to me because he change my way of
High school is where I had gained an awareness about how what I 'm learning in school is going to benefit me in the real world. I learned an retain a variety of information because the things that I did learn I felt like you would need to know to survive in the real world. A perfect example of this is driver 's ed where I learned to drive something that I do everyday frequently. Another reason why I learned and retain so much I because when I got into high school is around the same time I got my first job. This definitely opened the door in showing me how what I 'm learning in school applies to everyday work activities such as knowing and counting money this is where math comes in. Being able to talk and communicate writing and verbally this is where English comes in. All things that I needed to do in everyday
...hool and work and life in general. I did not strive to do my best in high school and especially my dual enrollment classes. I was not ever thinking about my future and started not coming to classes. Once I accepted God in my life Junior Summer, all that changed. I realized I was on a negative path and God helped me turn my life around. Senior year is going wonderful so far, my grades are the best they have ever been and I am busy as ever with work, school, church, and volunteer work. I love it this way, I believe staying busy requires me to stay on task and get a lot done, that is the lifestyle I have to take to college. Although that bad patch in high school lowered my grades and performance, making it more difficult to get into college, I am thankful it happened so I could learn from it before heading off to a new chapter in my life, hopefully at Auburn University!
Regretfully, when I entered high school I did not realize how hard I had to work to get what I wanted. I went to my classes, did my work, but never really pushed myself to my full abilities. I thought that as long as I graduated with decent grades I would be able to get into college and really focus then. But as high school quickly came to an end I realized that I was not as well prepared for college, as I would have liked.
During the twenties, there was this romanticized idea that with a lot of wealth and possessions came a lot of happiness, otherwise known as the American Dream. The American Dream not only flourished during this time, but redefined itself. It went from people wanting to be able to sustain themselves and have land, to having exuberant amounts of money and a happy healthy family. But how were people supposed to achieve this? The minimal amounts of people who did achieve this dream, achieved it through illegal activity. We see this idea in the Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Gatsby was not only a young, wealthy man, but a bootlegger. But there were also those who couldn’t achieve it due to their place in society. The vision of the American Dream was perceived to happen with hard work and persistence; however, it was mobsters who got the money with little effort and the poor and African Americans who worked hard to make ends meet with little left over.
The American Dream is most certainly a beautiful one. It has to do with owning your own home in a neighborhood with a good school for the kids and an expensive car in the driveway. Working at a job, that you chose, that provides enough money to realize all of your dreams . Does this sound right? This may have been true when the phrase was coined back in 1931 by James Truslow Adams, in his book The Epic of America, but is certainly not true today. The vast majority of Americans are living in this middle income bracket or even more people receiving government subsidies . When are we, as a nation, going to realize that working a 9 to 5 just to be happy to be able to pay our bills and make ends meet is not going to make the American Dream a reality in our lives? Yes America, it is time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Since the dawn of humanity, exercise has been crucial for physical survival. In recent times, however, exercise is losing its significance to human survival. Some would argue that it already has lost its significance, and as exercise becomes less important, people exercise less. According to fitness.gov, only 33% of adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week (citation). Clearly there is a problem. However, there is still a fraction of the population that exercises diligently. Why do these people stick with it? Exercise has countless advantages that are still extremely important to our lives. So even though the need of exercise may appear to be diminishing, the practical effects should be enough to encourage people
My High School life has helped shape the way for my college experiences that I will face. My senior year in high school is not the same as many other high school students. I am taking many advanced classes to help me prepare for college. These classes help me better understand exactly how much harder I must work to succeed.
Young adults ages nineteen to twenty one years old are at the time of life when they decide what path they will take. These life-altering decisions can change economic, social, and even political status for the continuation of life. Most young adults in developing or underdeveloped countries are not afforded an opportunity to further their status in life. The Making Bright Futures program offers young adults an opportunity to get higher education, relevant work experience and a legal way to enter the United States. Giving these young adults an opportunity to work, expand their education, and broaden their horizons can change the course of their whole lives. At the end of their education period, the young adults can choose to stay in
Overcoming adversity is imperative. In fact, you can 't have the happiness and success you want unless you have adversity in your life and overcome it. It is essential for progressing into who you want to be. It shows you what you are made of. It teaches you more about yourself, how to approach what you want, and how to maintain the success that you have. Without it, you wouldn 't know how far you could go or how capable you are because you wouldn 't have anything to push you or compare to.
What do people think about their life purpose? Most of us think about life that is studying hard in order to get a wonderful job, working hard, and getting married. They have dreamed of one day having an eternal vacation for themselves and not having to work anymore. The traditional people around the world consider that overworking is an essential condition for the early stage of their life. Especially in most of Asian countries, the average workweek is 48 hours. According to the fulltime employment, people work 35 to 40 hours per week to be defined as full-time. If more than that number, that should be considered overworking. Overworking is an important issue because that can lead to some serious consequences. Thus, we should consider work-life balance more seriously.
It’s crazy how life can change in an instant. The uncertainty of being dead or alive at any given moment can conflict with how you go about your life. As presented in the show A Thousand Ways to Die, there are a number of physical and chemical factors that can end our life. We learn from our mistakes and with past experiences we know the right and wrong paths to go towards. Not everyone receives the blessing of life every morning; however, we must cherish the moments we are able to live through, and pass on our life experiences to the generations to come. I can take you through the day of my ordinary life and show you how everything can be good, then take a drastic turn for the worst and still have positive effects.
Being a teenager isn’t easy. You have a lot of things on your mind, a lot of things to worry about, a lot of things to carry and when I mean carry, I mean both physically and mentally. During the 17 years of my life that I have lived so far, I believe that I have never carried this much before. Part of it I think is because it’s senior year. Actually I think that 's the biggest reason why I feel so much pressure on my shoulders. I’m pretty sure that everyone can agree on this, especially if you’ve been through it before. I’m not talking to the adults of course because I know your lives are difficult and what not, but I’m mostly talking to the teens who are currently going through the same stage of life that I’m in right now. Now I’m not saying my life is difficult in any means because I know that I
Poverty, the state of having little to no money, has taken its affect on every single country that exists here on planet Earth. It has taken its toll from notable poor counties like India, to even the world’s wealthiest country: The United States of America! Whether it was in the past, this present day, and even years to come, poverty has had its mark on a huge number of unfortunate victims from every territory you could possibly fathom. What is it like to be a prey of such an unfortunate life? According to the World Bank Organization: “Poverty is hunger, lack of shelter, as well as being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Also, it involves not having access to school or not knowing how to read. Finally, being in poverty is having
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
Many don’t realize that the road to success isn’t so much a road as it is a winding,
