Find out from travel agents if particular car rental firms check potential customers' driving records. Some wind up rejecting customers with records that fail to satisfy company standards. Confirmed reservations do not guarantee you will not be disqualified from renting. Issues like moving violations within recent years, seatbelt violations and driving with invalids, revoked or suspended licenses are some grounds for disapproving applications. o Understand rental agreements. For online bookings, go through the terms and conditions prior to confirming reservations. For phone bookings, ask agents on restrictions. See that you grasp the gist of the reservation conditions. o Return car rentals. Be on the alert for prepaid gasoline plans. Fill tanks yourself before driving the vehicles back so you only pay for the gas amount you actually utilized. o Refuse car insurance. Majority of private auto insurance policies cover the rental cars so long as the individual signing the agreement or contract drives it. Chances are the auto insurance policy you have at home covers car rentals too. Verify by calling your agent. Find out from your card company if using the credit card to pay for the rental also provides collision insurance
Depending on the coverage you need, your insurance agency will have to submit specific documents. Since you will be traveling outside of NC, form BMC-91, BMC-32, and MCS-90 are needed. There may be additional forms for NC, although I didn't see any initially. The insurance agency should be able to better advise. I found more information regarding the commercial insurance on the Progressive website (https://www.progressivecommercial.com/commercial-auto-insurance/insurance-filings-types/); however, it doesn't look like they currently provide insurance for your type of vehicles. I'm not sure if you already have commercial insurance. We can work on that as well if
Monthly payments and the money put down play a big roll in obtaining a vehicle. Buying requires a down payment in the form of trade or cash whereas leasing requires little or no down payment. Monthly payments are based on the purchase price of the vehicle if bought, but if leased payments are based on the use of the vehicle. Although if leasing, the payment terms are incredibly shorter.
Illegal immigrants will be obligated to obtain insurance if they acquire a driver’s license. When a motorist tests at a DMV, they are required to prove that they have insurance, so if undocumented immigrants want to legally drive, they are forced to be insured. A majority of the illegal immigrants that drive today do not have insurance, which means that driver protection on the road is not always guaranteed. In his political journal of law, Gregory Odegaard states that “an increased percentage of insured drivers not only reduces insur...
The pros of buying a car is that there is no wear and tear penalty and more mileage . Buying you a car allows you to customize it and at the end you'll always have a vehicle after paying off the payments. You can use the car for a short time and switch. Lease payments are also lower than purchase payments and also their lower up front cost. Mechanical issues are covered under a warranty. Also the sales tax is lower. The cons of buying a car is that the m...
Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Concordia is as of now constrained in its parking on campus and since first year students are not permitted to have cars, the students are confronted with the problem of having no place to park or parking very a long way from their goal. There are parking issues everywhere throughout the campus, making backups in residence hall and other lots, bringing about students parking illegally to avoid from walking far distances, which can be very aggravating in the bitter cold. Parking nearer appears like the reasonable thing to do, however it is a hazard, which
Life on the Road It’s fair to say that life on the road is something most people do not desire, as a way to live out their days; but a young man named Chris McCandless believed it was necessary to avoid the venomous grips of society. McCandless goes as far as to venture out to the rest of the United States and even crossing borders to achieve his true destination, Alaska. He shows us living such a life can hold many unique and wonderful experiences.
Google Chauffeur alerts human driver about situations where the human needs to drive, like a toll booth or merge (Pollette).
Imagine having your life flash before your eyes while you were still wearing diapers. And imagine having a hot hunk of metal crash into you and shatter your sense of everything. When I was just three years old, I was the victim of a very scary car accident. While waiting to make a turn into my nursery school, my mom’s car was rear-ended by a car driving at 50 miles per hour. I remember how incredibly loud the collision was and even how the windows seemed to shiver in their rubber holders. Seeing my mom's head fly back and feeling the car swerve into the opposing traffic, I thought I was going to die. And why did this happen? Because the person driving behind us was texting on her phone and was not focused on the road. All of this, the emotional, physical, and financial damage, and the possibility of losing my mom's or my own life, could have been prevented if the car behind us was a driverless car. Briefly, a driverless car is capable of driving itself via an intricate system of cameras, sensors and computers. I propose that human drivers should be replaced with driverless cars because driverless cars are safer and more efficient.
Some people maintain the idea that they don’t need car insurance, and that it is a ridiculous expense, but it is in fact an extremely important aspect of safety and not a waste of money at all. The type of insurance you need depends on many factors:
With a gasoline-fueled vehicle, buying gas to operate your car is a never-ending process. With the high price change of gasoline and oil, operating a gasoline-fueled vehicle tends to be very costly. While there are some types of small gasoline vehicles that get much better gas mileage than larger vehicles, even the most powerful gasoline cars will normally desire a contribution every month. According to some experts the only way a mainstream market for green vehicles wills materlize is with a pronounced and prolonged rise in fuel prices. (Buss, 4)
People around the world are constantly moving from place to place. Whether that place is work, a restaurant, or home, people require a means of transportation in order to arrive at a desired destination safely and efficiently. One of the most used means of transportation today are cars. Cars play an important role in the world’s economy by transporting goods and people. Automobiles have come a long way since Ford’s first Model T, and the auto industry plans to further enhance the technology and capabilities of the cars that drive on our roads. New technological advancements like rear-view camera, self parking, and auto braking have greatly improved the overall safety of cars today. However, one of the most talked about ideas are autonomous
When you hear the term “used car”, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Some may think of an old rusty Cadillac that belongs in a junkyard. Others may think of that nice Camaro at the used car dealership for sale. Over the years, used car sales have skyrocketed. In 2012, over 40.5 million used cars were purchased in the United States (Atiyeh, 2013). Used cars are in high demand in today’s economy because of the lower prices, slightly higher gas mileage, and that they can be more trustworthy against some of the newer models. With used car sales always climbing, how do buyers know what they are looking for in a vehicle? How do they come down to the final decision of where to purchase the vehicle? Most importantly, how can buyers make sure that they do not get scammed? This paper will take you through the process of purchasing a used vehicle, from deciding on a budget, all the way to the final purchase of your “new” car.
One of the main benefits of owning a car is convenience. A person can go to and from work, go shopping, go to the doctor, go to parties, go to practically everywhere without having to depend either on other people or on public transport...
There are a lot of decisions being made when looking for a vehicle. In order to make the right ones you have to understand what you want but mainly what you can afford. There are many ways you can purchase a car, whether you buy it from a car dealership or a private seller, the process is normally the same. The first thing you should do is set a budget that suits your needs. This will save you from having financial problems later. You don't want to receive repossession letters months ahead for not paying your car on time. Next you want to decide on whether you prefer a new or used vehicle. Pre-owned vehicles require more attention because unlike new vehicles, they've had...
With convenience comes cost. There are many costs associated with owning a car. Firstly learning to drive can be prohibitive, with lessons often out of a lot of peoples budgets. Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
