The choice to lower the amount of spaces available is to leave room for a nice park. At the front of the parking lot will be a kiosk and two gates where tourists will grab a ticket and also pay as they leave. September 11th, 2001 will forever be etched into American history as one of the worst terrorist attacks against the United States. To memorialize the victims that perished on this day, an official memorial was built in the footprints of the World Trade Centers (WTC). While the goal of this memorial was to be peaceful, some debates have arisen about the memorial. Some believe that they should have something different for the design and others dislike components of the winning design. Even with the many debates that surround this memorial, it is still a valuable piece of art to the public that provides a place for families and others to remember those who were killed on that day. Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Airport security is a big issue today because many people talk down on it when story after story, it is made to protect the people. Kip Hawley acknowledges that airport security has become so bureaucratic and disconnected from the people for which it is meant to protect for over a decade after 9/11 (Hawley). So why isn’t TSA taking the public’s opinions into consideration? TSA hears over thousands of complaints on a daily about their “stupid security checkpoints” or their “lazy employees”. The thing is, if airports were to improve their security staff, then less people would attempt to bring dangerous items onto the plane. Parking by the dormitories is almost impossible. Students who live at particular dorms find themselves faced with the problem of having to park on the other side of campus. Those who live in Brown Hall, which is behind the Thompson center, have the most parking problems on campus. This is because the Thompson center is a very large building housing various departments on campus. Therefore it receives a lot of traffic all day. Visitors to the campus are taking over the parking lots around the Thompson center, which is forcing students to park other places on campus and some students chose to disregard the signs posted for reserved parking.
Public transportation is an essential part of a city. A good public transit can encourage a city’s economic activities and can provide its citizen a convenient life. Does our Phoenix public transit work well? Does it provide sufficient service to the citizen? From my experience, the answer is no. This November I tried to attend the popular State Fair in Phoenix. However, I found that there were not any buses or metros could take me to the fair directly. It means I need 2 hours or more spend on the public transits. As the sixth most populous city nationwide (“Phoenix Quick Fact” 1), compared with Los Angeles and other big cities in America, Phoenix’s public transportation is indeed subpar. Due to Los Angeles has 154 bus lines and 30 metros (“Schedule”), New York has 316 bus lines and 28 subways(“Maps & Timetables”), while Phoenix only has 98 bus lines, and the number of metro line is only one! For avid hobbyists, drones are a fun way to pass the time, however, criminals can easily manipulate drones and cause panic to the public. One concern of the public with drones is that drones have the ability to invade people’s privacy. The government uses drones to carry out airstrikes on suspected terrorists although it’s a useful tactic, the airstrikes can easily kill innocent civilians. Drones can be a fun way to pass the time, but in the wrong hands can cause a lot of problems. The government needs to keep a close eye on drones and put regulations in as needed.
