to communicate with each other, sending and receiving messages, so on. It was sort of difficult, but because it was part of their daily life, they did not really take it as a problem. Contrarily to the ancient time, the modern life is completely the inverse. Social media is here and used by everyone, it was made to replace the ancient life to a modest and pleasant life that’s present today. Communication is easier, as well as sending and receiving messages, follow by email, and also it entered the educational purposes. However, those who took the most advantage of it is teenagers, growing up in a place where technology is already settled, well they do not know the real life of the ancient time and cannot even live off the grid. The adolescent generation encounter a society where there is an easy access to technology anytime and anywhere. But do they have in mind that these technologies can actually be harmful and that there is no privacy in it?
I remember the first time I sat on a computer; it was an IBM with a windows 98 installed. We didn’t have Internet connection at the time, and we mainly used our computer for work. The Internet has been around for almost half a century, it has helped us humans communicate easier, get around the world accessibly and exchange goods and services effortlessly. The Internet helped us facilitate a lot of tasks; in the past we had to do a lot of work to get something we needed. Nowadays all of what we can possibly want can be done with a click of a button. The Internet can enhance some of our cognitive abilities; understand thoroughly what we want to know, new concepts and different ways of acquiring knowledge and eventually sharpen our brains to live better.

Before the age of the internet, smart phones, and computers, students relied on their school and local library to gather information for research projects. Prior to 1994, communication by phone was done by voice and dialing digits (Noeth, 2004). The inception of text messaging digitized our way of sending short quick messages to one another without the formality of hello and goodbye. With the advancement of computers and technology overall, the medium in which educators would present learning material has evolved to the point of having any fact or subject within seconds of an internet search. It is well document that the use of technology will increase students’ academic level and engagement to produce better outcomes (Perrotta, 2013). Furthermore, schools have traditionally been slow to adapt to the new technologies being introduced to the corporate world, and is imperative that they keep up with this pace in order to prepare today’s student for tomorrow’s advancement’s.
Technology is an important issue that my generation will face in the coming years if it is used inappropriately. Albert Einstein states his input on how technology will be an issue: “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots”. Many people say that technology will affect people’s ability to think properly and claims that we will have a generation of people who are ignorant compared to earlier generations. Technology has shaped how people live their lives on a regular basis and it defines my generation as the technology generation. Technology has changed how we do things in our daily lives and has become a large part of our daily lives and has impacted each
Do you ever think about how much technology has changed the way we work, learn, play, and even think? Technology is a major beneficiary to society; especially in the classroom where we get the opportunity to learn and grow. In recent years, schools have begun implementing tablets and other devices in the classroom to better student’s education. The use of technology in the classroom provides more of a personalized learning experience and gives students a widespread availability to engage in learning. Technology is necessary in today’s modern globe, it is basically “the pen and paper of our time and the lens through which we experience much of our world” (Warlick, 2013). Technology is not just considered the “internet”, it is so much greater than that. Overall, it enhances the quality of education and engages students deeper than ever before. With all the significant gains, why would people argue that technology hinders students more than it helps? Critics may try to repute the use of technology in the classroom but I believe what really matters “is the way we use it, the context that we use it in, and the learners who we use it for” (Chong, 2012).
Image a school with laptops available to each student to complete their class notes, teachers who are able to help their students through the screens of their computer, children who are excited to learn about numbers with the help of cute, animated characters. With the endless advancement of today’s technology, schools across the world have begun integrating various technology into their curriculum. These devices have the potential to greatly impact students in their learning. When a school opts to use technology in a school setting, the most important factors they should take into consideration are the benefits of using technological devices, the effectiveness of technology used
Smartphones have become a problem in today’s generation especially for adolescences that has shown a decline in focus and intellect in the past few years. Although smartphones are created to help make communication easier, they also affect youth’s performance and productivity in school, in their workplace, home, and their communication with adults. Other teenagers use social media to express their feelings online and to release their anger and stress. Most of the time, when teenagers reveal too much on the internet, violence and rumours can take place afterwards, which results in arguments and misunderstandings. The youth today feel as if they cannot live without their smartphones and without access to the internet. They have become highly dependent on their smartphones and this has changed the way youth interact with adults. The advancement of smartphones has negatively impacted youth’s social relationship with their teachers, employers and their parents.
In today's society, modern day technologies continue to rapidly evolve and continuously change the ability to learn and communicate. Further development of technology has created new forms of interaction and ways to do things, which were not possible twenty years ago. The dominant types of technology available today did not all, succeed when they were first brought forth. While each technology needed to make small tweaks and changes for it to work more efficiently and continue to advance, there are some instances where this does not always, help. Throughout our lifetimes there are many instances where things do not work the way it is supposed to, and technology is no different.
Albert Einstein once said, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” This quote is fully representative of society today. It has distracted us from..... One second my best friend just texted me… Ok what was I saying?.. Oh right; It has distracted us from our studies, our loved ones, and even our driving. Technology is making us less intelligent, oblivious to our surroundings, and antisocial.
Nowadays people use technology from everything from business to education to entertainment and much more. Almost everything we do and every aspect of our lives is affected by modern technology. With all the advantages of technology it is not surprising that we rely on it for almost everything in our daily lives, but how much is too much? People’s over-use computers and other modern technology is causing vital skills to be lost as technology replaces traditional ways of doing things. Technology properly used in the classroom has many advantages to a student’s learning. Technology can help students become more involved in their own learning process, which is not seen in the traditional classroom. It allows them to master basic skills at their own rate rather than being left behind. Teachers and students alike can connect to real life situations by using technology in the classroom; this can also help to prepare students for real world situations. Technology can be used to motivate students as well as to offer more challenging opportunities. It can also be used as a visualization tool to keep students interested in the subject that is being taught. When technology is used effectively, students have the opportunity to develop skills that they may not get without the use of technology (Cleaver, 2011). Assessing and monitoring students is easier on the teacher because of the ability to use technology in the classroom. When technology is used correctly it offers limitless resources to a classroom atmosphere.
As facilitators of learning, our classrooms are filled with students who are comprised of generation X’ers and Millenial’s. We must be conscious to structure our lessons and approaches so that we can present content in the most effective manner. Technology, in regards to principles of teaching, challenges the teacher to not only learn what the technology is all about, but to learn to integrate it effectively within the context of their individual classrooms. Teachers in classrooms across the nation struggle with computer technology, the many features, and the never-ending cycle of new devices that are bought into their classrooms daily. Because of the lack of training and severe levels of discomfort, teachers have developed a negative disposition towards the use of technology when it applying it to principle. Recognizing the noted factors, it can be resolved that we do live in an interactive world. Our job is to effectively integrate the technology in such a way that it supports, guides, and enhances learning for all parties involved.

Subjects that students deem challenging or boring can become more interesting with virtual lessons, through a video, or when using a tablet. Technology occupies an important place within students’ lives. When they are not in school, just about everything that they do is connected in some way to technology. By integrating technology into the classroom, teachers are changing the way they used to teach (lectures six hours a day) and providing students with the tools that will take them into the 21st century. One of the characteristics of the modern classroom is collaboration and technology helps to empower it. With classroom technology students can collaborate with other students and their teachers in and outside of the classroom quickly and easily.
