Are you a caregiver? Caring for children or elderly parents are obvious examples of being a caregiver, but there are other areas in which you take care of others. Do you have a partner or spouse, siblings, neighbors, co-workers that need your attention? Sometimes we overlook just where our energy really goes. If you have to help tend to someone, your energy reserves can be depleted rather quickly - especially if the needy one is highly demanding, in a state of depression, angry or negative. Giving to another can also be extremely fulfilling. The more that you show love to others and wish for their health and happiness the more you will receive those things. It may not come from the one you are caring for, but if you are aware, you will see …show more content…
In other words, drink enough water. How much water do you need every day? It is suggested now that we drink about half of our weight in ounces. This means if you weigh 130 lbs., you should drink around 65 oz. each day. If you are highly physically active, you should consider adding another 8-16 oz. Our bodies are 60-70% water. Without replenishing our bodies numerous symptoms are likely to arise from headaches to backache to constipation. This also puts us at risk for depression and/or a lack in our mental clarity. If you are steaming vegetables in a pan and the water runs out, they will burn unless you add more water. If you car runs out of oil, you need to add more or you will blow the engine. What do you normally do? Do you burn the vegetables and blow up the engine or do you tend to the vegetables and your car? Why ignore your body? Why burn it up or cause it to breakdown? Do you take time for yourself? Spending even as little as five-ten minutes every day just for yourself can make a huge difference in your life. Take five minutes to just close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Find ten minutes to just sit and read a few pages of a good book. Lay on your back with your legs flat on the floor and your arms (palms up) out to your sides like a "T". Close your eyes in this position. Focus on your breathing and allow yourself to melt into the floor. You need to time to rejuvenate yourself if you are going to be of any value to
Many individuals are taking the process of process of parental licensing into their own hands, despite their contributions being made up in mind only, however, it is thought that counts. One respective person believes that a restriction on having children should begin at the earliest stage of one’s life: birth. As soon as a child is born, doctors should “go in and turn off their spickets” (McRedmond). In the later stages of life, this would prevent several cases of teen pregnancies, seeing as though it would be an impossibility for women to get pregnant. Then, when a women eventually becomes ready enough to think about having children, they should go through a testing process, perhaps similar to Sherman’s ideas of interviews, writing, and demonstrations of capability. If they pass, they “get their spickets turned
Single moms are the most affected and providing childcare on campus is very beneficial to them. More than 4 million women attend two-year public institutions or community colleges, and more than 1 million of them are mothers. Many student mothers struggle to stay enrolled all the way through graduation. Most of them are more likely to drop out of school, and the reason is because most often there is no affordable or available childcare and the students have limited financial resources. The average daycare center cost for an infant is higher than a year’s tuition and fees at a public college. It makes affordable on-campus child care a necessary provision for students. Childcare on campus helps to contribute to the learning

Do you enjoy paying medical bills? Healthcare accounts for about 1/6 of the entire economy, more than any other industry. Researchers find that the spending on health care totals about $2.5 trillion which is about 17.5% of America’s gross domestic product: a measure of the value of all goods and services produced in the United States (New Health Insurance). It covers money paid to health care providers such as hospitals, outpatient centers, veterans’ affairs and other clinics, doctor and dentist practices, physical therapists, nursing homes, home health services and on-site care at places such as schools and work sites. Also included are retail sales of prescription and nonprescription drugs, premiums paid to health insurers, and revenues of makers of medical devices, surgical equipment and durable medical equipment such as eyeglasses, hearing aids and wheelchairs. It also counts out-of-pocket payments by consumers for health insurance premiums, deductibles and co-payments, along with costs not covered by insurance. Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him” (G.K. Chesterton). A soldier is a soldier no matter what. If they fight behind a screen, on the front line, or from a controller as long as they’re protecting this country, the people in it, and the people fighting for it they are honorable. Some think that because one does their fighting from a remote control drone means that they have no understanding of war, and in some ways that is true, but they are still taking someone’s life when they choose to press that button just like the solders on the front line takes someone’s life when they pull the trigger. Both people are fighting the same fight: they love the country they are defending the people in it they just do it from different standpoints. Drones
Imagine dedicating your life to a university not only on the academic level, but also the athletic level. With a full scholarship your time is dedicated to getting to class on time, finishing assignments, and making it to mandatory practices while also maintaining a strict workout schedule. With your day pretty much full of responsibilities, you do not have the time for a job to pay for anything that you may need outside of tuition, books, and housing. If your car breaks down or you run out of gas you have to pay for that out of your own pocket which is fairly difficult when you do not have an income to cover the costs and if you accept money or free services from any businesses, you could lose you eligibility as a NCAA athlete and lose your
