Ability to Deal with Rejection 84 The potential of being rejected by others as a result of who you are or what you do is not something that you allow yourself to worry about. If people don 't accept you the way you are, you are not going to go out of your way to attain their approval. Granted, rejection by someone in your life may very well hurt you, but you won 't let it dictate how you feel about yourself. You know that the only approval you should be worried about is your own, and when you respect and approve of yourself, you are more likely to project an image to others that says "I am worthy, and I am have much to offer to someone."

That notion has been instilled in our head since we were kids. What makes us so different from each other is our personality; every personality that we acquire fits each and every unique individual. Unfortunately there are some cases where some people’s personality can become a bit extreme and cause problems not only for themselves but also to others who deal with them (loved ones, coworkers, teachers, etc.). In this case the personality stop becoming little quirks that make person who they are but disorders that consumes the person and become unbearable at times. These disorders manifest themselves as configurations of traits that are considered non-desirable, but to some there are a few of these traits that are considered very desirable when they’re not dealing with

The bases of this paper will be based on the results that I had obtained when I took the Myers-Briggs personality test. The results that I had obtained was that I was determined to be an ENFJ. I will go into depth about letter and how each represents that a specific aspect of my personality. The results that I had received were not what I had expected, but the more I read about the trait the more I realized how it suited me. I will also talk about the information that I had found useful from the book, Type Talk at Work: How the 16 Personalities Types Determine Your Success on the Job by Otto Kroeger, which gave me insight on how to interact with other personality types especially in the work environment. The information that I absorbed from the personality test and from the book will go into use in my personal and work life so that both environments will be cohesive and peaceful.
Utility of assessment. Why are these types of personality assessments useful? Did you find the results useful? Why or why not?
"Being different is a talent. You illuminate what makes you special in the sea of sameness around you." Imagine being in a society where no choices are made. Your freedom has been taken away from you and replaced with sameness. Caught in a "never-ending cycle of sameness" wouldn't it be unjust?
I found the results of my self-assessments to be a very insightful and accurate description of myself. The results of the learning styles test and the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II are very valuable for examining my personality traits and learning style and making improvements as needed.
Self-assessment tests have been around for as long as I can remember. The first self-assessment test I took was when I joined the Navy. I remember thinking what in the world does any of this have to do with joining the military. I soon discovered that it tested more than mental aptitude. It really showed mental, physical, and social traits that one possessed when put in situations that they had no control over. The tests are designed to gauge where one will be when stuck in a situation that they cannot get out of like out to sea on a boat or submarine for six months at a time. These tests, no matter which one you take, are as individual as the person taking them.
After taking the Big Five Personality Test I’ve concluded that it is a fairly accurate assessment of my personality. 1) On Openness to Experience/Intellect I ranked at the 53 percentile, with the description that I don’t typically seek out new experiences. I would agree with this assessment. While I am somewhat creative, I am no artist. It takes me more time to do something creative than something analytical, but I do still like to be creative on occasion.
There are many types of diverse people classified under various categories. Some people have different types of personalities. They could be classified as extremely manipulative, others as impulsive, and some may not show anything on the outside and have wonderful social skills. These categories help in the understanding of humans. This study is called Psychology and there are many different subfields in this diverse study of the people around us. One subfield that is particularly interesting is personality psychology. Personality psychology is a branch of psychology that studies personality and its variation between individuals.
The report described my self-esteem to be pretty strong. If people reject me based on who I am or what I do, I am most likely not going to be affected by it. I also don’t really go out of my way to attain approval from people who don’t accept the way I am. Although rejection may hurt me, I don’t let it change how I feel about myself. The results described me as strong and only worried about my own approval. I found these results to be pretty true now that I have gotten older. When I was younger I used to always worry about what others thought of me, however as I have grown and been through more hardships, I have learned that the only approval I need is my own. I agreed with the results when it said at times I may feel hurt when rejected but not devastated. This is true. At times I still feel this hurt, however I don’t let it ruin my view on
Self assessment is a process in which you examine yourself in attempt to discover and learn more about yourself. Your likes, dislikes, behaviors, attitudes and habits can be found during this process. You can use the discoveries to your advantage by accepting or changing strengths and weaknesses. I plan on using this course to enhance my personal skills to become a better student and find success in earning my Bachelor of Arts degree at Ashford University in Social Science. Self Assessment is the first step in my successful future.
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
Well I guess I’ll start off this paper by being outright honest. I have never done this type of self-assessment exercise. So I’ll start this paper off with what exactly this type of self-assessment is. These types of self-assessments are meant to help show the individual (me) where my strengths lie and also where my weaknesses are as well so that I may try and lean on my strengths while improving on my own shortcomings. Essentially the Johari Window four regions model that we learned about is a great tool for this assessment. The first region is also known as the open area, which essentially means that this is what is known by the person about him/herself and is also know by others. The second region is known as the blind area in which this is information unknown by the individual but is known by others. Which could be behaviors that an individual does but does not realize that they are doing them. The third window is known as the hidden area. This area is essentially information that only you know about yourself and others do not. The fourth area is known as the unknown area. It’s known as that because this is information that you and others do not know about you. It’s when you take a look at these four areas and see your strengths and/or weaknesses are at and if you allow yourself to become open to feedback you then can improve on your own shortcomings and become a better leader.
Taking any type of personality test can lead to a lot of thought and reflection on yourself,
