Scientific methodology, analysis and reasoning has had a significant impact in shaping my approach and developing a different learning aptitude towards academics; this soon flourished into a more specific interest in science. I got interested in electronics during my high school years itself when I was introduced to the topic of Circuit Theory in Physics. Hence to pursue undergraduate studies in a reputed college of engineering of India with electronics as my major became an obvious choice for me. Determined to go after the same, I prepared myself for the fierce competition. Two years of focused preparation fetched me a position in the top 0.3% among 1 million potential candidates in the national level engineering entrance examination- All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), 2010 and a place in the desired branch of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at one of the premier institutes of technology of India, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy. The area of Integrated Circuits and Systems fascinated me when I came across it the first time in my sophomore year of undergraduate academic curriculum. The theoretical courses and the lab work relevant to this area which I have undergone during these three years enhanced my interest and played a substantial role in moulding my skills. The never ceasing desire to know more beyond what the book tells me, and indulge in work apart from my prescribed regular course work motivated me take up various research internships and projects, workshops and technical competitions on the non-academic front. My first project, in my sophomore year at NIT Trichy, was a basic MATLAB/Simulink Design of Dynamic and Steady state analysis of Self Excited Induction Generator. This ... ... middle of paper ... ... analog and digital circuit design and analysis, reliability, timing constraints, optimization of software and hardware components, tools for synthesis which concurs with my area of interest. From where I stand now with the acquired experience, knowledge and skills, I see myself involved in active research in this area. I have a strong desire to learn new concepts, and self-reliance to face challenges put forth under any circumstances. My career goal is to develop exceptional competence in this field and acquire skills for pioneering new developments and innovations. It is with this objective in mind that I want to pursue M.S and then PhD at the (particular university). << Description about some particular professors and their publications>> I strongly believe that under guidance of your highly competent faculty, I will mould my career decisively for the better.
It’s the triumphs as well as the defeats, that I will remember most about my life when I look back in thirty years. If I can look back and say, “I didn’t think I could ever accomplish this, but I gave it my all.” Pursuing the next challenge along with being a well-rounded, compassionate person will allow me to consider my life a success in thirty years. Nothing in my life emulates this attitude towards what I will consider a success, in terms of pushing my limits, in thirty years, than my current pursuit of collegiate level sports.
There are there kinds of students: one who has the brain for math and sciences; one who is able to think analytically about pieces of literature and historical documents; and finally, one who understands all. I fall into the first type. Therefore, I have always been interested in the field of engineering, for it embodies my favorite subjects. As my physics professor talks of electromagnetic and electric fields between all protons and elections, my mind beams with pleasure, for the new information is of such fascination to it. As my calculus teacher frantically writes the equations of integrals on the board, I jot down the notes with a clear understanding of what the signs stand for and the logic behind them. Then at home, I happily turn on my computer and ponder the genius of artificial intelligence. There is no way I am going to leave these beloved fields of study behind—therefore, Electrical and Computer Engineering would be perfect for me. Engineering is a major that is expected to continue experiencing growth, especially strong in areas emphasizing technology.
Being the top student in my secondary school (with 85.5%), I got admitted into Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering at MIT, Ujjain. My curriculum enhanced my knowledge in Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processing, and Analytical and Industrial Instrumentation. Having a strong zeal towards Information System and Computer Programming, I have also learned different languages like C, C++, SQL and PL/SQL.
My long term career goals include the pursuit of research in the field of Bioinformatics and teaching in an academic environment. I have found that a career in research is both intellectually stimulating and satisfying and hence I have decided to take this up as my career objective.
As an engineering student, design, develop and test electrical equipments is the major purpose of all time. In other words, electrical engineer is concerned with using electricity to transmit electric power. I got admission in NUST, one of the top engineering institutions of my country. In university, there were several important courses that I took provided theoretical knowledge about the fundamentals of electrical engineering. The course about power transmission really inspired me and forced me to choose my majors in Electrical Power. In my senior years, I developed a strong interest in the field of power generation and power system protection. So, I decided to do my final year project on the “Protection system of 3-phase interconnected distribution system”. I was leading my group in this project and my tasks were the designing and simulation of the project. The main challenges were to design the directional element and provide a reliable protection in the event of a fault. The directional relay, which I designed, was a microcontroller based model to detect the direction of power flow. The microcontroller in this model compared the phases of voltage and current using the input fed by zero crossing detectors. The directional relay was used as a control element with an over-current relay. The project was a source of great experience in the field of system protection and it only left me asking for more.
