You ask how I will make a contribution to society after I graduate from college. My plan after I graduate from college is to become an officer. By becoming an officer I will contribute to society first by doing what is expected of me, that is putting people out of harm’s way and putting criminals up. Another way I plan to contribute is by becoming a public speaker to the young ones. I plan on pushing them on the right path, a path that will help them achieve their dreams. Being an officer is one of the biggest contributions to the greater good of society. When you sign up to become an officer, you are using selfless service by putting your life on the line for the welfare of others because not many have the courage or strength to become an officer. Being an officer means maintaining order, working to help prevent crimes and protecting the lives and property of citizens in the United States of America. These are ways I can use my powers of being an officer to help the society I live in. I'm going to contribute to society by helping students achieve their dreams. By becoming an officer I’ll work to my fullest extent, making sure everyone’s safe in their community and surroundings. Safety means a lot to me and one shouldn’t have that taken away from them because of the actions of someone else’s wrongful doing. When I was about 17, my stepdad physically abused my mother. I was terrified by the blood that was all over the steps and the sound of my mother’s crying voice. This was one of the worst things I had ever seen. I was looking for comfort but couldn’t find it anywhere until the police came. Their presence felt as if a whole burden was released off of me. I felt peace, comfort and I felt safe. This is one of the reasons why I want to become an officer; I want others to feel as safe as I did that
