Becoming a successful clinical physician who can be a great help to people’s life and healthhas been my great ambition that I have been pursuing since I was a high school student. Taking the National University Entrance Exam (known as Concour, the main means to gain admission to higher education in Iran), I was ranked among the first 100 best students (out of around 300,000) in 1988. I was accepted in Medical School of Shiraz University which is one of the leading medical schools in Iran and being accepted there is really very competitive and it is not an easy task for everyone to do. As I progressed through my studies and clinical rotations, it became increasingly clear that I was interested in the field of infectious diseases and I was fortunate to find a professor and a lab that I felt comfortable joining and which satisfied most of the attributes I was looking for. As a medical student, Ichose to take my elective wards inpediatric infectious disease ward as much as I could and I took about 3 month clinical rotation in that ward (instead of only two weeks as most of other students did) and this period was of great personal significance for me. I did my M.D final thesis under the supervision of the same professor who had a great impact on my attitude toward medicine and encouraged my interest in infectious disease. Despite the laborious task of collecting and sorting the samples, I really enjoyed doing that thesis. Pursuing my interest in infectious disease, I chose to study pediatrics after my M.D graduation, and again I did my thesis on comparison of mean serum level of trace elements in children older than 6 months with acute lower respiratory tract infection with control group, which was considered a new project in its ... ... middle of paper ... ...genesis of diseases. The early clinical application of those research findings will undoubtedly make our life better. And as I offer myself as a PhD candidate in your Medical Sciences Doctoral Training Centre, I bring to the table years of work experience which includes steady and continuous promotions, an unrelenting pursuit for knowledge, a compassion for children, and a belief that anything is possible if we can actively imagine it into existence. Throughout my adult life, I never lost my path and I hope that you will allow me to continue this path at the University of Oxford. I am confident that the curriculum of your Phil in Biomedical and Clinical Sciences prepares me to function at the research scientist level commensurate with my experience. I look forward to continuing my career as a scientist and contributing to my respective scientific area of interest.
Life’s experiences, work, and education have prepared me to further my education. I will achieve this goal with the ability to analyze situations, make informed decisions, and provide my patients with the best evidence based care possible. I will also have the ability to impact change in quality improvement, policy and procedure, and overall patient care with evidence based
...out sanitation, infrastructure, and hygiene can greatly reduce global health disparities worldwide. In addition, research is another fundamental necessary in ensuring human health quality for individuals. I admire the researchers who commit in finding answers to fight against chronic diseases occurring worldwide. I have significantly respect the researchers who work together in discovering new diseases and treatments affecting individuals globally and not only fulfilling one country’s needs. It is my desire to become one of those researchers in the next ten years contributing in global health and decreasing global health inequalities in order to provide health care equality for every human being living in the world. We need to work together, globally, and collaborate in order to end health inequalities and the pursuit of human equality in the sake of social justice.
There are a lot of reasons why I chose to pursue pharmacy as my career and they all point to the most important reason: pharmacy is a great fit for my life and is something I have become increasingly passionate about. It started when I was researching careers with my parents and my dad suggested pharmacy and, simply put, it sparked my interest because at the time it was one of the few things I thought I would not hate doing. A healthcare career has always been where I put myself in the future, mainly because most of my family members are in the healthcare field. However, I have never been one that could directly help the wounded or deal with anything gory, but am very intrigued by the growing science of pharmacy. As I continue exploring pharmacy, the more I enjoy learning about it and feel like I could excel in this career.
Born and raised by parents working in the medical field, I have always had the urge to follow up on on a health related career. Despite never being pressured into choosing scientific subjects as my academic studies, I deeply admired what a long way science has come and longed to give my contribution to this fascinating world. I am presently studying for my A-levels at St.Aloysius Sixth form in Malta, a college for high achievers.
I have always wanted to be a scientist and contribute something to the human cause and what better way to achieve this than by doing medical research? Medical school taught me the art of medicine and the research projects that I undertook taught me the science of medicine. What interests me the most is a path that combines the two, and one way to make that possible is to be an academic physician. I have always wanted to work in a teaching hospital or academic institution, one that would give me the opportunity to take care of patients, give me the time and resources to carry out trials and present them and to be able to interact with trainees.

...forming bench research at Barry University and Weill Cornell Medical College in the Traveler’s Research Fellowship, I have been exposed to the side of medicine where scientists work every day to find cures for diseases and save lives. Experiencing different aspects of medicine has made me a more competent individual to thrive in this field and has deepened my interest and passion to pursue medicine as a career.I believe that those who fight with so little against so much truly need others to help them in their struggle. Being a physician is not only becoming a successful professional. I will work hard to bring about necessary changes to end social disparities, so that more groups in society receive the best healthcare. By making a difference in their lives, I will receive rewarding experiences that are worth all the hard work and sacrifice my chosen career requires.
My goal in pediatrics revolves around determination to provide comprehensive and compassionate care. I want to be a part of pediatric residency program that offers the opportunity to train in a well-structured, well-administered with family like environment, where teachers love to instruct and direct us through their vast amount of knowledge. I know your pediatrics program would be a good fit for my passions and talents. I am confident that my pursuit of this career path is an invitation to an even fuller and more exciting life ahead.
My A-level choices show my interest in bio-medicine. Biology in itself had augmented my passion for this course as I have learned of the complexity and sophistication of the human body through topics such as immunity. Furthermore, acknowledging this has given me a true appreciation of the roles that scientists play in making sure that these systems work effortlessly. Chemistry has helped me become more aware of key substances used in medicine such ...
I am very interested in the research of infectious diseases. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to make an impact on the world. As a little girl, I remember watching countless documentaries on diseases that affected so many people. Majority of these diseases were rare, but many were not diagnosed early for the person. Unfortunately, because of limited health resources, most of these people had years of suffering. Since then, I have made it my goal to learn more about health and diseases by graduating with a degree in Biological Sciences. Graduating at the top of my class, I studied and enjoyed courses like virology, microbiology, and endocrinology. After graduation, I worked in a lab for a short period. There I was able to help categorize material
My passion for a career in Clinical laboratory science stems from a key experience with a li-censed Clinical laboratory scientist. On one day in the church , I was in dire need of help finding a job that can help me study medical in the future. For the first time I encountered professional-ism, knowledge, and humanity all at once. And this wasn’t a one-off experience. Each time I re-turned to the church, the exact same thing occurred: The Clinical laboratory scientist never seized to take the opportunity to encourage and help me knows better about the great work of Clinical laboratory scientists. From that moment, I decided to do my master in that field.
I have always been intrigued by the field of science and that is the reason I pursued the field of Biochemistry for my undergraduate studies. How The Human body works and the different determinants that can affect one's health or a community as a whole have always been captivating to me. I wanted to emerge in a profession that is beneficial for me, my community, and the world I live in. I came to realize through various science courses and health care experiences that a career in health care was the best path for me to outreach my community and the world.

Throughout my life, I have worked towards one goal which is to become a doctor. Medicine offers the opportunity for me to integrate different scopes of science while trying to improve human life. Medicine has intrigued me throughout all my life because it??s a never ending mystery and every answer has questions, and vice versa. Upon entering my career, I had assumed that professional and financial success would surely bring personal fulfillment. This realization triggered a process of self-searching that led me to medicine. The commitment to provide others with healthcare is a serious decision for anyone. As I examined my interests and goals, however, I underwent a process of personal growth that has propelled me towards a career as a physician. A career in medicine will allow me to integrate thoroughly my passion for science into a public-service framework. Since childhood, I have loved acquiring scientific knowledge, particularly involving biological processes. During my undergraduate studies, I displayed my ability to juggle competing demands while still maintaining my academic focus; I have succeeded at school while volunteering part time, spending time with family and friends, and working part-time. To better serve my expected patient population, I worked over my English and Korean language skills. I have come to discover that a job and even a good income, without another significant purpose, will not bring satisfaction. I planed to utilize my assets, namely my problem- solving affinity, strong work ethic, and interpersonal commitment, to craft a stimulating, personally rewarding career in medicine. I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self-examination, I have decided to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating. Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence - the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician.
The field experience was very effective in progressing myself professionally. My next steps will be to further my research training. I plan to enter a Ph.D. program in a biomedical science as my next academic step. I will likely begin study at John A. Burns School of Medicine in cell and molecular biology in August 2016.
