One song that describes my life right now is Let there be cowgirls by chris cagle. This song describes me because i ride horses as often as i can. I spend hours on end with my horse. Sometimes it is just sitting there on a bucket reading while she eats. Or i take her on long trail rides because it is so so so calming. My horse is my best friend i tell her everything and the best part is, she never tells anyone my secrets. There is one line in the song that says, “Let there be cowgirls for every cowboy, make ‘em strong as any man. Something you can’t tame she's a mustang.” this part is probably describing my life the best because when i was little i used to get picked on for being really strong. I spent my summers helping my dad with moving the hay around so it wouldn’t get moldy. Then i would carry saddles around the yard hoping that one day i would be able to lift it high enough to get it on my horse. So when the song says make ‘em strong as any man it really makes me feel better that i actually spent my time to make myself stronger instead of just letting myself waste away in front of the TV like all the other girls my age. …show more content…
I want to be in the rodeo barrel racing to this song. This is one of the main songs i listen to when i need to be motivated. I normally listen to this song when i am outside with my horses or doing homework or just sitting around doing nothing. This is one of my favorite songs because it makes me feel like i am a little closer to reaching my goals. It makes it seem like i could easily be anything i want to be. This song seems to cheer me up when im sad or motivate me when i am feeling lazy. It is like the perfect song for me and i don’t know why. I have always loved this
- Explain briefly what your selected ballad is about and the reasons why you picked it.
I have chosen to do two songs waiting on a woman by Brad Presley witch the whole song makes a gender stereotype about woman always making a man wait. The second song I choose to do is George Straits A fathers Love which enforces it’s hard to be a father and what a good strong dad role model is. Both songs spoke to me in different ways.
My first song I´ve chosen is Sean McGee, song titled My Story. Mainly the song is about him facing different struggles, obstacles, and all the horrible things and situations he´s been in throughout his life. I can connect to this song and the lyrics for many reasons. One of his lines were ¨Do you know how it feels to be left out in the rain¨? And I have faced times like this when I feel like no one is there or have my back, and in the line he´s trying express how it feels to have nobody and be all alone. Also throughout this song he expresses how everyday you wake up your face with something rather it's just a minor issue or something that will greatly impact your life.
Don’t pick a song just because you like it, it must have meaning. Your list must be typed and include the following information: Song title, artist, and a short three to five sentence explanation as to why the song represents you.
One of my all-time favorite songs that tells a story is, "Love Like Crazy," by Lee Brice. This song tells about how Lee Brice went through life and how he made it through with the love of his life. "Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse ‘I love you,’ go to work, do your best, don`t out smart your common sense, never let your praying knees get lazy, and love like crazy," is a meaningful line from the lyrics of the song. This line of the lyrics tells how a person can get through life through the good and bad times. More people in this world should take this song as advice for life. I have listened to this song over a thousand times, and I get more out of it each time I listen to it. I relate to this song`s story because I am living this story right now in my life. I was seventeen when I found the love of my life. Everyone around me told me I was crazy, and I had no clue what love was. I have proven them wrong so far because I have been with the love of my life for four years now. Also, I am a child grew up with nothing and I have learned that I have to work for what I what in life. I have worked since I was fifteen, and I have loved every minute of it. I also am one who will follow my dreams even if everyone around me is telling me that I cannot do it, or I am not able to do it. This song`s story has been an inspiration to me in many
...ve influenced me to remain optimistic because in each situation the underdog became successful and overcame their obstacles. They all prove to be my favorites because I am able to relate to each one individually. I can relate to The Pursuit of Happyness because of my financial struggles, Roar by Katy Perry because there were situations in my life in which I had to remind myself how strong I am, Soul Surfer because as a cheerleader and field hockey player, I had to overcome many injuries, and A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke because the Civil Rights Movement is my history! When I start my journey at an HBCU for the next 4 years, there will be times when I will feel like I want to quit, but each time that I do, I will reflect on each of these artistic works and use them as motivation to remain optimistic with the hopes that something positive is waiting to happen.
Personal Narrative: The World The world is a messed up place and we are all stuck here until our lives are through, or until we choose to leave. It's strange that I go along with everything everyone tells me, such as that I should wear certain clothes or listen to certain songs. I often wonder why I do the things I do, but then I just realize that's who I am. People are confused about why they are here, and they don't understand what life is supposed to be about.
Within my fifteen and a half years of living, I have experienced many heart wrenching moments that have changed who I am, so many that I stopped trying to keep count long ago. Like most teenagers, the past couple of years have been some of the most confusing, hectic years of my life. I'm at that age I'm trying to figure out who I am, as well as who I want to become. As indecisive as I am, I will more than likely change my mind a time or two, but right now at this very moment, I've finally come to terms with who I really am, and what I would like to do for the rest of my life.
One song that has been of importance to me since coming to Maryland would be “Summertime Sadness” by Lana Del Ray. The entire album from which the song comes from is one of my personal all time favorites. I remember seeing her for the first time on Saturday Night Live where she was the musical guest. She was performing her popular single “Video Games” off of her album Born to Die. Her performance was not theatrical at all; in fact it was very minimalistic. The performance was supposed to be just about the song and not specifically about her showmanship. The critics gave her negative reviews about her lack of energy and how the performance was lacking emotion. It just made me more intrigued in her music. I downloaded her album right after that and didn’t really get around to listen to it until the beginning of the summer going into my freshmen year at Maryland. I would be lying if I did not say I had a huge crush on her, which also added to my liking of her music. One particular song on the album that was most important to me was “Summertime Sadness”. The song portrayed my feelings of leaving home for school and starting a new chapter in my life. The song’s genre also are subgenres of Rock which have inspirations to bands/producers Dr. Warfield has taught our class.
“Car Radio” performed by Twenty One Pilots, is the song I have chosen to break down and explain why it relates to me in my life. It was around one to two years ago late at night when I discovered the song. I was in my room using the app called “Spotify” that plays random music based off an artist or song of your choosing. I was hanging in my room playing video games and surfing the internet when the song came on. Every word I heard I could easily relate them to my life. The song was released on “Youtube” April 19, 2013, but it was released as a single on March 18, 2014. “Car Radio” was written and recorded as Twenty One Pilots’ second and third studio album.
“Pocketful of Sunshine” by Natasha Bedingfield has always been a song that I felt like that defines me and my attitude. The lyric “Do what you want, but you're never gonna break me/ Sticks and stones are never gonna shake me” has a meaning full tug on my heart (Bedingfield). Ever since I was young I have had people tell me, not directly, that I wasn’t good enough and I was always beaten down. I have always tried to have this attitude. I would physically say “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”, so this songs meaning surely hits home with me. Another thing that stands out about this song is its upbeat music that I absolutely adore. This upbeat music lets me release my inner goofiness, as for when I hear the song I cannot help but dance around and enjoy myself. This song also has a lyric stating “The sun is on my side/ Take me for a ride/ I smile up to the sky/ I know I'll be all right” (Bedingfield). This lyric pertains to me as well for I’m one to love being outside and having a good time. From this lyric I imagine some friends and myself just riding around with the top down and enjoying the presence of each other. My group of friends all have a free spirited souls and I’m so thrilled to have them around me.
I also think of lyrics that shout out my life story and I know that I am not the only one to feel this way which is why Swift has such a big fan base. Taylor Swift will leave a lasting impression on society to come. She is one of the few females on Forbes 40 list and makes more money than many other male artists. Not only is she an inspiration to females everywhere, but she is also an inspiration to her own fellow artists. Swift can be seen dancing at any awards ceremony she attends and has a genuinely good outlook on life. It’s crazy how she connects with her fans on such a personal level. I have been in concerts where there hasn’t been one dry eye in the arena because of the amount of emotion that Taylor Swift puts into her songs. Swift has been nominated as Time’s Woman of the Year because she is such a vibrant young woman (Dickey,
If felt like I was drowning. One day I woke up and realized that I’m here for a reason and I’m not going to give up that easily, which is why I picked the song “Hero”. I finally was starting to realize why I was here and things were starting to become clear but I still needed help to get out of the funk I was in. I picked the song “ Hall Of Fame” because this song means that, whoever you are you can be anything you set your mind to. If anyone says you can 't, take that as a challenge to prove them wrong. This song represents the part in my semester that I realized I can’t just sit around and wait for someone to get me out of my funk I need to pick myself up and get out of it myself because I was meant to be here and I need to do whatever I could to succeed. The reason I picked the song “ Survivor” was because I survived the funk I was in and didn’t let it get to me. This song talks about surviving without a certain person but I’m looking at it in terms of me surviving that rough time of my semester and getting myself out of it because I am strong and I will make it through college. “Stronger( What Doesn’t Kill You)” was the next song I picked because at this point in the semester I realized that college isn’t going to be easy and I shouldn’t expect it to be easy because like the song says “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”. I
The song I have chosen as you might have guessed already is the Circle of Life by the famous song writer Elton John and of course everyone knows it’s from the Lion King. To you this song may just seem part of a children’s movie, but sometimes the simplest, most childlike songs may have the biggest meanings. It is important to me because Disney is what I grew up with. I watched it all the time and I know that most of you did too. I still love it today. Every Disney movie has a meaning with some inspiration to it and the Lion King is no exception. It tells us to never run away from your problems. As a little girl I would watch the Lion King all the time and enjoyed singing the songs while watching. It is only now that I am older that I realise that there may be meanings to those songs.
Driving home after a long, difficult day, I turned on some music, searching for relief. The CD in the player consisted of all my favorite songs: “Pee Wee Long Way( Chasing)’,” “Lil Boosie (Long Journey),”Lil snupe “(Nobody),” and many others. My number one favorite song, “(Chasing),” was the first to play. Singing along to the lyrics, my mood was immediately better. This song reminded me of what was important in my life, my dreams and money. I then realized what these songs had in common; they all reflected my feelings on life: don’t give up on your dreams and don’t worry about every little thing life throws at you, keep chasing your dream until you reach the top.
