Emerson states, “Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.” The quote explains if people never go beyond what they have already accomplished, they will never progress in life. An initial reaction would be “I have not mastered anything, so I am unable to respond to this question.” Growing requires breaking out of comfort zones and broadening horizons. If a person does not go beyond what they are capable of achieving, they will not grow. Failure assists in growing and learning, in turn leading to success. If people never expand their horizons, then they never experience the new adventures life has to offer.
Without the thrill of a new experience, life would become a boring repetition of activities we have already mastered.
Therefore, to break out of comfort zones, people must go beyond what they have already mastered.
One day at school, put on by Clover Hill High School students. Even though I was not a part of their piano class, I decided to perform unannounced. As I walked upon the stage, a mix of emotions flooded my body, such as nervous, anxious. However, to become a better piano performer, I

The human race is so focused to not fail, that we don't aim for success, settling instead for a mediocre life. From personal experiences, I have learned that someone who does not try harder than they are already able to achieve, they will never accomplish a task beyond that level. For example, if a gymnast does not push himself/herself to learn new skills and increase their flexibility, they will never move up in ranking and stay in the same spot. Some people will fail and will want to give up, but sometimes failure will impel someone to work harder than they were initially trying. Giving up is not an option, no matter how much a person fails. People should continue to try and never stop trying to reach their highest
Analyzing that phrase you can assume that those individuals who have mastered in what they specify , whether its sports or academically related , have made many mistakes along the way. You should not be afraid of failure , as it helps one learn from past mistakes. Being able to recover from failure shows how dedicated
As children, we are naturally, curious, eager and willing to try new things. When they don’t work out we are quick to move on and try something else. We don’t waste time or start worrying about what didn’t work, we simply move on to trying something else. As we grow older we learn that failure is unacceptable and we always need to be on our feet and improving ourselves all the time so we can decrease the chances of failure. I believe that in this world everyone is hungry for success and no one wants to fail in something they would love to accomplish one day. Desire for success is like a “drug” in this generation, without success people look down upon you and will believe that you’re not worth their time without giving you a chance. The phrase
Failure can cause a torrent of mixed emotions and thoughts. One can begin to doubt their motives for even attempting to succeed at a certain task. Some people may choose to give up after failure, but there are a select few who rise up to the occasion and move forward to try and succeed no matter how many tries it takes. By overcoming those difficult moments in life, it gives a person a sense of accomplishment and pride and that alone is a beautiful thing.
Failure isn’t always something you have control of or have the ability to predict. Failure seems to happen at the worst of times; however we need to accept it, because you cannot always win. My greatest failure would be tearing my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), my junior year in a lacrosse game, through no fault of my own in which my body physically failed me, but it truly changed my aspect of life in multiple ways.
Failure is what I felt as soon as I dropped a four-rotation toss on sabre. Failure is what I sensed when my instructor told me to pick up a flag when everyone else had a sabre within their grip. Failure is what stared back at me every time I looked in the mirror.
Failure creates success, and if you do not make an effort, you will never know how far you can go. Success comes with failure, but success will never come without effort. Always take the shot; you never know where it could bring you. Experiencing minor setbacks prepares you for a major
Failure is apart of life, it can make or break a person. When a person experiences a type of failure it is now up to them to see how they respond. They can choose the high road, and become a stronger person for it. Then they can choose the low road, the easy way out. The easy way out is never a good choice. It can lead only to destruction. The high road is the right choice to take when responding to failure. It will lead down a path of success. Jessica Lahey’s article, “When Success Leads to Failure” is an article that shows how kids are experiencing failure. Lahey says that, “these kids have a fear for failure, and that they have given up natural loves for learning. They are scared of not being successful”(Lahey). The truth is life is hard there will be failure. There is nothing in this world that comes easy to anyone.
Summer vacation, and school ends for about three months, and then you have as much fun as you can, then back to school… right? Well I had to go to summer school, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Everything was going fine, I had a job after summer school, and that was going fine as well. They say that summer is supposed to be fun and exciting, and it usually is for me and my family. However in July my father started coughing up blood. My father usually doesn’t make it his top priority to go to the doctors, so he waited about four weeks until he really didn’t feel good.
There is a point in everyone’s life when they step back and realize “I can’t do this anymore, it’s ruining my life”. Many of my friends have started smoking cigarettes while drinking at a very young age, and continue to use this drug currently and don’t realize the affect it has on their future. While I have been smart enough to avoid smoking, I haven’t been as wise at making decisions when it comes to drinking. The amount of partying I’ve done in college has taken over my life, and has had a huge impact on my grades. Changing my drinking habits and continuing to avoid cigarettes will enable me to be the best I can be for the rest of my college experience.
Everyone in life experiences failure. It can affect people positively or negatively and that all depends on how they react to the experience. If one lets their failure overcome their dreams, it will lead them in the wrong path. But if one views their failures as a motive to succeed and grow, then they are on their way to becoming successful. For me, I let my failures in life help build onto my character and define the person I am today. My childhood injury is my example as I let this moment affect the outcome of my dreams I had then.
Mentally strong people view failure to push themselves to next attempt to reach their full potential.
On my second piano recital, I invited my family and two very close family friends to attend. As the day of the recital drew closer and closer, I started getting extremely nervous and anxious to perform, even if it was simply for my family. On the day of the recital, I was stressed and fearful to play my songs. My heart pounding, I tentatively took a seat in front of the brown Baby Grand and placed my hands on the long, 88-key keyboard. The first part of the recital went by smoothly, with little or no mistakes on my part.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi that I believe goes with this prompt almost as if it were puzzle pieces. It shows that you will never run out of new things to learn and “master”. By keeping yourself only limited to a few lessons you’ll be cutting yourself short of that extra development you can build off of later in life.
Introduction Hook: How does not enjoy to win? The amazing feeling of reward felt after winning. But have anyone ever fail in something and actually learn from it? Credibility: This event that happened to me has taught me a lesson in the importance of failure. It made me acquire a different meaning of the word failure with a positive connotation.
It was dark that night, I was nervous that this dreadful day was going to get worse. Sunday, October 23, 1998 I wanted to start writing this to tell about the weird things i’m starting to see in this new neighborhood. Gradually I keep seeing pots and pans on the sink suddenly move to the floor. I would ask my sister but she is out with my mom and dad getting the Halloween costumes. When they got home I didn’t tell them what I saw because i've seen Halloween movies and I have to have dissimulation otherwise the ghost will come out and get me first. October 24, 1998 I think I got a little nervous yesterday with the whole ghost thing. 12:32pm, Went to eat lunch with the family today and I go to get my coat. I heard the words furious and madness,
