I get out of the taxi and can feel the heat of the sun on my cheeks. I look to the right and see the crashing waves on the shore. There is a calm breeze that glides through the palm trees making them sound like hands clapping. I can see hundreds of people walking on the shore and streets, some taking pictures others holding surfboards. The winding narrow streets pave their way along the shoreline. We are finally here, in California me and my friends have been planning this trip for months and we are excited. We check into our hotel room and immediately change into our swimsuits. We race down the spiraling staircase laughing as all three of us violently try to get to the bottom. When we get outside I notice how dark the night sky is. Above
The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. While trying to avoid the occasional passing jellyfish, it was an experience of
The first thing I heard was Virginia Beach vacation, and then in excitement I ran and got my stuff and started to pack. The part I was most excited about was that the hotel is a beachfront hotel room.I was so excited because I love the beach and I really wanted to go back to the beachfront hotel and stay there. I went there when I was in second grade. I have gotten to go there a few times since second grade, but I did not get to stay there overnight.
I was riding a Town and Country minivan half way to Daytona Beach when my father told me we were going to do parasailing on the coast of Daytona Beach. I started to freak out in my mind. I was very scared of heights, but if I didnt do parasailing my brother wouldnt do it. So I told my dad yes I will do parasailing. On the rest of the ride to Florida I was thinking about parasailing and how I will overcome my fear of heights. Once we arrived to Daytona Beach we checked into our hotel and went in to our room. We all took a short nap and went to the beach. From the coast of the beach I could see people parasailing. It looked like the people were above the clouds. This made more scared of parasailing.
Closer and closer to the calm water, I began sinking deeper in the sand. It was comforting, the silence, tranquility, and warmth of the faint sun. There is a slight breeze, warm, but cold and lonely. I could smell the scent of fish blowing through my hair and body. The sun was still fading, slowly but surely the day was almost over. About half of it is gone now. I could see shades of blue, red, purple, and pinkish-yellow. They were mixed with puffy clouds that lined the beginning of the sky and the end of the water. I noticed the darker shades on the bottom of the lower clouds.
Moving my feet to this amazing feel of tranquility, I can smell the sea in the air, the salty mist that fills your lungs with new hope, the vendors in the alleys and corners with kebabs and all the Puerto Rican cuisine you can imagine in these small but efficient food trucks. My belly rumbling and my thoughts dispersed, following along the stone path with gold inserts, I look up at the sky and with a glance at the right direction with a flash hundreds of kites in the air, twisting, turning, going all around like a crazy show, focusing on where I want to go, children run, scream and shout and I can think to myself on what to do, with so much commotion it is difficult for anyone to think inside their inner self and have a moment of
The dull light of the sun somehow manages to kindle my senses in a way I had never seen or felt before. Everything felt like it came to a standstill and the effect of the light made the scene look like one in a painting. The waves break gently into white foam on the black beach. The small crystals in the sand glimmer and twinkle brilliantly against the sunrays. The seagulls ride with the wind and the soft sand cushions my toes.
I let myself enjoy the sound of ocean, the rhythmic pounding of the rolling waves. I fill my lungs with the vivid air, crisp with salt and twinkling with sparks of ozone. As I exhale, I can feel the weight of my worries leaving me. I am standing on a part of Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. It was seven o'clock in the early morning, I was still inside of my comfy quilt and dreaming about going to Applebee’s with my family, until the announcement in everybody’s room turned on and comes the morning greeting from the cruise
Waking up in the early morning so that we done waste our time lying in bed on this appealing vacation we got the opportunity to take, we all got ready for the beach with puffy eyes and awful morning breath. Looking out the sliding balcony doors feeling the glistening air enter the hotel room felt so refreshing as if you received a shot of energy. Beginning to put on our
As I turn my gaze to the front of me, I can see white water waves roll over each other like children playing a game of leapfrog as the crystal clear water rises and falls with my own breath. I shift my focus to my beach condo behind me, the sliding doors open, filling the small space with the warm ocean breath. I slowly saunter over to the ocean water, relieved when the small waves run over my small feet hot from the sand. As the water touches the tips of my toes goosebumps sliver up my spine, but it feels nice as it gives off a warm and comforting feeling. I dip my hand into the damp dark sand, feeling the small grains press against my palm as I soon as I feel them leave to join the forbidden ocean lands with the slow flow of the waves.
As I walked down the sidewalk, my nose picked up the salty scent of the sea breeze. I looked ahead and saw the gleaming beach in the far distance. Before me, the tranquil city along with the endless blue sea sandwiched the golden beach that stretched across for miles. Then my eyes were grasped by the incredible beauty of the city skyscrapers that stood hundreds of meters tall, and they probably had also captured the sight of many other tourists. Some people were jogging and others were bike riding Just as the yellow sun rises from behind the buildings. It’s easy for many people t...
As the bitter cold breeze goes swiftly, leaving the sharp scent of the metallic crimson red liquid behind, the deep, vast ocean remains as tolerant as it used to be, willing to take in everything. Isn’t it beautiful, to watch the ocean from the palace balcony on top here? Suddenly, it feels like time has travelled backwards and remained at the point where I first dreamed of standing here.
As I opened my hotel door and walked in I could see the sun set beaming through the window. I stepped out onto the Lanai and felt the sun's rays hitting my skin. The beach was a mile away and I couldn’t wait to begin exploring the island. This vacation had just started and was already perfect.
The sunset consumed the side of the Caribbean sea as ocean breeze hit me. I was on a island. The view was amazing, especially the noises. the waves moved with a never ending motion, and the palm trees were swaying forward and backwards with a calm swish. It even smelled good. This truly was a paradise .
So, the state of the night cleared up, I can continue. I'm looking into the sky and I'm lying on the grass, which is a little strange because grass is not, as it were, the most abundant of materials in this place. I'm lying on a small patch of such grass that is surrounded on all sides by sand. In the distance I can hear the sea and its crashing against the beach and I worry about all the poor little creatures caught in it.
As I walked down the worn dirt path to the ocean, I was astonished by how many people were lounging by the water.. As I got closer to the water’s edge, I contemplated why more people don 't swim and decide to tan in the sun instead. The feeling of being alone with the ocean and my thoughts played in my mind.
