Would you rather drive on Route 66 or on the interstate? When you are on the interstate it is so boring because there is nothing to look at. Who would want to do that for most of your day and who would be happy with looking at trees and other cars and who would want to spend there whole day doing that because I know I would not want to do that. But on Route 66 you have so much to look at and Route 66 can take you back in time by used to "grand" high way. What would you do if that was you? Route 66 "represents America before we hand same stores at every mall' but on the interstate you have they have the same stuff at every EXT. but route 66 has so much stuff that you can see and want you to keep coming back. But on route 66 more

In other words, a regular tourist who visits Memphis from time to time may value Beale Street at a higher level versus someone who is just passing through. Everyone sees Beale through different lenses and endures different perspectives. But to a true Memphian Beale Street puts them at a loss for words. To local citizens that reside in the surrounding area of Memphis Beale Street is a part of their culture and in some cases “the holy grail of Memphis” On another note, some might say “Beale Street is Memphis” and plays a tremendous part on the overall perception on what Memphis is really like. For a Memphian, Beale Street is one of the most treasured landmarks in the world. To some, it may represent a monthly Friday night out with the girls or even a date with someone special. As a Memphian, steps foot on Beale excitement is sparked through their veins. Whether it’s the feeling of a warm summer night on Beale or the overwhelming smell of Memphis barbeque and cigars or even the crowded walkways forcing people to be uncomfortably close to strangers, or the unlimited amount of music of local bands that is crushed together to form and edge to the environment, people are drawn to Memphis for the overall unforgettable great experience that it
There are many symbols of freedom and individuality in Dennis Hoppers movie Easy Rider. The movie Easy Rider revolves around two bikers, Wyatt and Billy, making a trip from Los Angeles to New Orleans, to attend Mardi Gras. The first scene in the movie involves the two protagonists selling a large amount of cocaine to a gentleman in a Rolls Royce. After the drug deal two the bikers begin their journey to Mardi Gras, but not before Wyatt removes his watch and throws it on the ground. This action is shows Wyatt’s pursuit of freedom, because time serves only to constrain them. Once on the road you learn that their names are Wyatt and Billy, a reference to Wyatt Earp and Billy the Kid who are considered American legends, as well as outlaws. Wyatt rides a chopper with the stars and stripes on the gas tank and on his helmet while sporting the now cliché leather jacket. Billy is dressed up like a cowboy; he is wearing all tan leather with a wide brim hat. Also throughout the movie Billy refers to Wyatt as Captain America. All of these things serve to ingrain the belief that they embody the American dream which is to earn enough money to pursue your dream. It just so happens that their dream is freedom, the same belief that led to the creation of the United States.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
Route 66 is the mother road for all highways, it stretches 2,448 miles. It starts in Chicago, illinois, through missouri, kansas, oklahoma, texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending in Santa Monica, California. In the 1920’s Route 66 served as a path for those who migrated west, and today its legacy has shaped a more modern way to travel.
The next two lines, “The highway is alive tonight, But nobody's kiddin' nobody about where it goes” (The Ghost of Tom Joad 1995), are talking about Route 66. This highway is the one that all of the Okies traveled on to get to Califo...
In conclusion, the author had numerous examples and reasons on why and how Route 66 represents America. They gave the reason of seeing a beautiful landscape, starting your on business, and missing out on various stores and locations. This is why I believe that the author was very effective in proving that Route 66 represents
“Let’s go see the long-neck asaurus!” exclaimed Kae Lynn, while Tristan’s eyes lit up as she excitedly said “Yeah!”. Which led to a weekend in Rapid City. My Mom would be taking us to Rapid City, because she didn’t have work. Consequently booking us a room at the Ramkota. We then decided on picking up Kae Lynn first, since she lived in Eagle Butte, then we will pick up Tristan in Dupree.
When I time traveled to the future, it was weird because I went with my sister and with my best friend Layla, but first I will tell you the beginning of the story. When Layla and I were sitting at our desks until our teacher Mrs. Saver showed us a new book called time travel. We both wanted to read the book so we asked Mrs. Sarver if Layla and I could read the book together and Mrs. Sarver told us yes, but we can’t joke around or mess around with each other or she will separate us. When Layla and I went to my house, Layla asked me “wouldn’t you want to travel to the future” and then I got an Idea. I told Layla that she had to go home, but Layla asked me why, so I told her that I had to do my homework, when she left I went to my parent’s
My two friends and I had a very fun time at Rapid City. After planning for about a week now, we had a rough start. I waited for approximately 45 minutes for George and Michael to get to my house, and I was really tired. I couldn’t sleep well last night, and it was raining, too, but eventually it cleared up. My friends finally arrived, so we could get going. I was really shocked that they came here by foot, since they could’ve taken a vehicle, and our houses weren’t that close to each other.
The first is the decision of a young man choosing a path of life that altered it forever, while the second is about an older more experienced man reluctantly continuing on in life even though he had stopped at the perfect spot. Both speakers have to make a decision that could in turn change their lives forever. In “The Road Not taken” the speaker makes the decision choosing the least common route, this shows how different and independent he is. While in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” the speaker has to resort back to his obligations, this shows his self discipline and
The journey of life follows a predetermined pattern; we evolve from needing influence and guidance to finally reaching that point where our lives are up to us. I consider myself very lucky up to this point in my journey. Some people become sidetracked and wind up on a far different course than initially planned, but the detours I made have only assisted in embellishing the individual instead of devouring it.
One of the most enjoyable things in life are road trips, particularly to the Colorado mountains. Getting to spend time with your family and friends, while being in a beautiful place, is irreplaceable. The fifteen-hour road trip may feel never-ending, but gazing at the mountains from afar makes life’s problems seem a little smaller and causes worries to become a thing of the past. Coming in contact with nature, untouched, is a surreal experience. My family trip to the Colorado mountains last summer was inspiring.
The distinct clicking of the American Flag as it is placed in its stands starts the chorus of young voices pledging their promise,“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight”. These words come with a special power that guided and supported me in the toughest and in the best of times. The journey of a scout is one of commitment, good ethics and exemplary citizenship as one grows to become a trustworthy leader and a person of strong character. Not without any difficulties and roadblocks along the way, I am privileged, honored and proud to have taken the journey and ultimately reached my Eagle
Going on a road trip with my family means the world to me. We drove to another state during summer vacation, and it was by far the best road trip I have ever been on. My family and I were able to go to many fun places. We ate so many exotic and delicious foods as well. Yet most importantly, I spent time with my family and their friends. It was the day when my family and I went to California for our summer vacation.
