From Thursday, July 23 to Saturday, July 25, my time was mostly spent socializing, getting on social media, or sleeping. Though I had classes throughout the day, I made time to relax by watching Netflix or getting away from work and regenerating my brain. On Friday, I didn’t have classes until 1 o’clock, but I woke up around 10 a.m. to catch up on work. Throughout this period, I made time between classes to either catch up on work or relax. I also found myself spending less time on my studies and extra time doing other things.
Some distractions that I faced throughout this two-day period were friends, my phone, Netflix and sleep. I spent a decent amount of time socializing, but it interfered with completing my assignments in a timely matter
in a where I wouldn’t have to rush to finish. My phone was always present throughout this time and greatly distracted me. If I would get a notification from twitter or a text message from a friend, I would stop working, pick up my phone and take 15-20 minutes to get off and return back to my work. Netflix isn’t a dominant distraction, but still steered me off my path throughout this period. Whenever I had a long break, I would come back to my dorm and watch an hour of Netflix, but if the episode was intense, I would watch another. Being sleepy is always an issue and was present during this time. When my eyes get heavy, I can’t get work done so I have to take a nap, wake up, and finish my work. The internal distraction was sleep and the external distractions were friends, my phone, and Netflix. Internal distraction is the hardest distraction to eliminate and is difficult to do so. For example, if someone is going through a certain situation and it is all they think about, it is hard to push that out and focus on homework and it could potentially affect the way they work for that day. In my case, getting sleepy and forcing myself to stay up is torture which always results in me going to sleep and losing time to complete my work. Fatigue is normal and occurs often which is why time is always lost in abundance. Several realistic, practical strategies to cut the distractions of my phone, friends, Netflix, and sleep are to allow myself to get more sleep at night, turning my phone off or putting on do not disturb and put it out of sight, limit my hours of watching Netflix, limit the amount of time I spend with my friends, take a nap if I have time, socialize when finished all my work and only watch Netflix when done work or studying. These strategies can aid me in getting more of my work done in a timely manner and not procrastinate.
Scheduling and planning are necessary to be successful as a working student. Setting time aside for school assignments is a priority, but it is also important to build in personal time for you, your family, and friends (Blais & Hayes, 2011). S...

This statement is true because if these activities continue to impede the learning of a student then he or she will get stressed out, which could result in the student dropping all his or her college classes. If the student could just sit back and analyze the situation, life would be easier. For example, the student could reduce the number of classes he or she takes every semester. Reducing the amount of classes could result in more time spending with family rather than doing homework. When thinking of a person whose life is filled with frustrating duties and activities remember a nontraditional college students’ schedule of completing activities of school, working long hours, completing personal activities, and trying to spend free time with family and friends all in one day.
In my words, Sociological imagination is a way for a person to look at their life as a result of their interaction with society. It can explain why a life is lived with way it is lived and all events, decisions, successes, and failures that have occurred. In my life I have encountered many situations, problems, opportunities and events. I can use my sociological imagination to examine these and figure out why I am the way I am and also why I have chosen to do certain things
Your schedule will be as open as a barren desert. You will relieve all your stress by procrastinating. You don’t have to worry about the assignment until the day l before it is due, and this is a good thing. as you can zone out and focus on the activity at hand whether that’s browsing online, watching a movie, or hanging out with friends. The assignments will begin to haunt you at first; this will be a challenge that everyone faces, yet you need to realize that paper isn’t going to write itself, and neither are you; at least, not yet. That paper has a long life ahead of it before it needs to get turned in, why make it suffer? Speedily add to it the day before to ensure that no pain goes to the paper. In class, you don’t have to listen, but rather just act like you doing work. You can just look at the notes, that the teacher wrote when you get home. If you forget, it isn’t the end of the world you still have a day to study; the test is tomorrow. Procrastination is the gift that keeps giving. The more you procrastinate, the easier it will get, the more your grades will increase, and the more you’ll have fun. Yet, don’t get too carried away. You must procrastinate but still must complete your assignments. School is important, yet your activities outweigh the need for completion of assignments, so they can wait. According to Rebecca Klein from the Huffington Post, “Approximately 87 percent of [the 13,000 polled students] said they procrastinate on school assignments.” Many of which spend their time on social media and watching television (Huffington Post). Procrastinating is the action of delaying or postponing any action and similarly, a college student defines it as putting off an assignment until the very last possible moment to complete it. As a result of procrastination, students often pull all nighters in order to finish their assignment, which then causes a massive amount of preventable stress. Additionally, the quality of the work may not reach its full potential and will result in a lower grade because of the lack of time that was allotted, which also could have been preventable. Due to this, students may potentially fail because they will experience difficulty in keeping up with their school work. Procrastination stems from the bad habit of being lazy, but much like any other habit, it is extremely difficult to break out of it because of how accustomed students grow into it over time. It is incredible to understand how the way someone was nurtured as a child could have such an effect on there adulthood. I personally believe that the events that occurred in my early childhood were stepping stones to defined me as the person I am today.
3. What activities can you eliminate or reduce in order to create more time, especially for online college work?
My socialization started from before my birth. My parents knew that I would be born female and, therefore, bought me pink clothes and other “girl” items. I was born into a lower-middle-class family with both of my parents working a factory job. I spent a lot of my infancy with my grandmother who would watch me when my parents worked. When my parents came home, they would shower me with affection and nurture my needs the best that they could. I would be fed, bathed, and everything that is needed to keep a baby clean and happy. My parents would make sure that I was cared for.

College students have to balance work, family, and college activists and any delaying behavior from within can cause an unbalance. This behavior is called procrastinating and it can lead to problems in many areas of a student’s life. College students are the worst hit by this type of behavior because they have many different activities to focus on instead of studying. These activities can cause students to study when they have time which often is usually too short amount of time. There is a time and place to relax and enjoy life, but if students focus on playing around instead of getting their assignments done, college life will be stressful.

I like to keep my belongings organized. Although it does get messy, it won’t bother me unless it’s everywhere. I also used to be strictly all about achieving my goals and I tend to get anxious if I don’t get things done ahead of the deadline. But I’ve learned to give myself a break and some leisure time because being so hard on myself about my work and my grades isn’t good for my health. For example, I used to stay up so late just to complete an assignment that wasn’t due until 6 o’clock in the evening the next day. Although it isn’t a bad idea to get the essay done early, I compromised my sleep and ability to focus throughout class the next day due to my high standards of completing everything early. However, now, I am able to give myself a break and possibly hang out with a few friends without the stress affecting
Much of my study is spent at home, and as such I am prone to many possible interruptions, primarily from family, having four children, two of whom are under six years old, and the day-to-day problems that this obviously presents. Even as I began writing this, my five year old son needed to be taken to the doctors, which is just one example of how family life can have an effect on the time needed to study. Fortunately I have an understanding partner, whom I can delegate many of the day-to-day problems to, but I do have commitments that at certain times, e.g. Looking after my children when my partner goes work, that cannot be avoided. The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
