There are many “stealers of time” or time management issues, that I will probably have to contend with, during my Access to HE course and beyond into degree work, and ultimately any career I choose to enter. Indeed, all aspects of life require us to effectively manage or organise ourselves according to what we want to achieve in a given amount of time. Much of my study is spent at home, and as such I am prone to many possible interruptions, primarily from family, having four children, two of whom are under six years old, and the day-to-day problems that this obviously presents. Even as I began writing this, my five year old son needed to be taken to the doctors, which is just one example of how family life can have an effect on the time needed to study. Fortunately I have an understanding partner, whom I can delegate many of the day-to-day problems to, but I do have commitments that at certain times, e.g. Looking after my children when my partner goes work, that cannot be avoided. There are also other interruptions such as noise from my children playing, which I personally find ve...

According to Bevines (2013), time scrutiny is getting worse, and it will continue to, unless the problem is addressed as an organization as a whole issue, rather than an individual problem. Having the right system, using a to-do-list, and organizing tasks are all great things to do; however, we live in a time where everything is moving fast, and that interruptions and unforeseen events are inevitable, making it difficult to keep up with everything (Bregman, 2012). According to Bregman (2012), “For that reason, choosing what we are going to ignore may well represent the most important, most strategic time-management decision of all” (para.1). Research suggests that time management behavior is often prevalent due to what we perceive as control of time, job satisfaction, and health, as well as, causes and results of stress (Claessens, Eerde, Christel, & Roe, 2007). The problem is the majority of people do not manage their time properly. While time management training is great for helping to guide use of time, it does not automatically result in better performance. Time management training will not change behavior without practicing: self-management, time management techniques, and setting goals.

Successful students learn to manage their time; this can be difficult and requires a student to carefully evaluate and prioritize the challenging factors. First, it is imperative to prioritize your day for an easier daily routine. By knowing what to expect daily nothing is missed or skipped and you meet goals and expectations. What you are attempting to evade is postponing your degree due to overwhelming responsibilities. Time management has given me the advantage to plan my work ahead of time and use my time however and whenever I want. As students, we do not have our parents or guardians to let us know about arriving to class or going to work. We must be independent and take full responsibility of our actions. We have to make the time on our own by becoming organized and improving our punctuality. Ever since I have been here, I became organized and punctual. I take the time to clean and organize my room. The idea may seem dull, but I like cleaning. I also organize clothes, food, and personal products. My punctuality has improved as well. I arrive

What do we know about time management? As adults we should know a lot about time management. We all strive to become the best that we can be. This alone should encourage us to learn about time management. Every aspect of our lives depends on it. If we try to plan, organize, and execute our ideas most of the time we can manage it well, but when we go the other route, and jump out there feet first, most of the time we do not do as well. This is not the case in every light, but usually it is the norm. Even as we sit in class trying to better ourselves by improving on our education, we learn that we must manage time to the best of our abilities. This is not done only for school, but for our families for those of us that have children and spouses. A lot of the time, we manage to get everything done and leave ourselves out in the cold when it comes to making time for ourselves. If it is not our job or school we are trying to meet someone else's needs.

"You 'll have more time to sleep well, eat right and exercise regularly," says Lucifer (2015). Again, relaxing time will be more enjoyable even if with unfinished works waiting, because there is enough time left in the schedule to get the job done. Families and friends can also get benefit from having a good command of time management skill, owing to the fact that the habit of independence will be cultivated over time, as people gradually get more responsible for taking care of the own life. Furthermore, this skill will be even more crucial when graduates enter the real workforce or society, for the reason that there are harder tasks they have to confront with and accomplish. So, time management skill is very essential. It helps people gain more control over life and study, identify extra time, enjoy the playtime better and prepare them for their
