I will have to depend less on my ability to work under stress and depend more on a strict, task-oriented schedule. In the past my determination has allowed me to be successful, despite my procrastination. It is because of the aforementioned statements that I believe the application of my time management skills in college will allow me to successfully contribute not only to the academic environment of East Carolina University but the overall social climate of the campus as well. However, one trait that is arguably more important to academic success than time management is perseverance. Perseverance and curiosity were key to my academic success in high school and I plan to carry these traits that I have attained, along with many others, to East Carolina University as I continue my academic career. Both of the aforementioned traits allowed for me to flourish in the classroom as I would challenge myself to fully understand and comprehend difficult problems. When faced with a problem that truly challenged me, I would break down the question step by step and work on it until I could say that I understood what to do on a fundamental level. This perseverance and desire to understand what previously perplexed me is the reason that I believe I performed so well in my Advanced Placement
