Hi Mr. Whiler! It's me, Dayita. You already know me, but hopefully with this paragraph you will learn even more about me. I'm 16 and I live here in Markham, but I haven't lived here my whole life. I lived in Scarborough for eight years before moving here. I have an older brother, Dhivo. He is now twenty years old and is attending the University of Waterloo for computer engineering. My dad works for the Chrysler company as an electrical engineer and my mom is a manager at a pharmaceutical company. Being the youngest in my family, I have always had high expectations placed on me. These expectations have motivated me to work even harder to pursue my goals. I like writing and reading. I haven't always excelled in writing. In fact, in elementary school I struggled with English. I believe it was because I never got to explore my own style of writing. However, in high school I fell in love with literature and I got to discover myself through writing. I love the way how just a few words can express so many emotions and feelings. My passion for writing was also shared with reading. A novel that I recently read was the Great Gatsby. This novel was beautifully written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was a story about a young man fascinated with the faint light of a dream. A novel that was published in 1925 that still speaks truth about this time and age is one of the reasons why I love the novel. …show more content…

Unlike our parents, my brother and I absolutely dread them. I cannot stand any of the gory scenes that include pools of blood on the floor. Also, the terrifying music that are played during these scary scenes are torturous. One of the movies that have scarred me for life is The Grudge. I was around six when I watched it with my family and I haven't watched horror movies
