Nowadays there is a lot of pressure in everyday life. People use different ways to relax themselves. One of the best ways is watching a good film, no matter in the cinema or at home! I like watching films when I feel tired or bored and my favourite types of film are comedy and action. There are a lot of funny scenes in comedy. It makes me laugh and forget that I’m unhappy. Action film is exciting. The stirring stunts attract all my attention and make me feel like on the edge of my seat. But I don't like science fiction films, because there are so many fantasies in the film that I am not interested ! I also don't like horror movies. Ghosts, blood, broken legs and hands are so frightening and disgusting! Every time I see a horror movie I can't go to the washroom alone because I think there might be a ghost in it! Lastly, we watch the genre of film that best matches our current mood or events that previously took place that day. Our emotions are key; if we’re depressed, we may be more likely to watch a horror film.

I usually do not watch horror films, however, it is mainly because they just do not appeal to me as much as other genres do. Furthermore, I normally do not watch many movies. However, in the past, I played a horror game called Outlast which was much scarier than I am comfortable with.

...ssignment has showed me the different views I have towards the culture of moviegoers. It made me understand their major purpose for coming to the movies with an outside view and made me look deep in to their purpose as a moviegoer myself in an insider perspective. It was a fun experience for me to go in to this particular subculture as I can relate to it. Many of us, if not all, are moviegoers ourselves. Seeing why they come and watch a movie with not just the purpose of watching moving pictures dumbfounds me. Seeing them escape the harsh realities of life simply by stepping foot through the front doors. That’s what makes this group truly interesting; the fact that we can escape from ourselves by entering the culture of moviegoers. This tells us that people in general have this inner ability deep within them guiding them through a stairway of happiness.

Movies have the ability to leave us in awe as a result of their ability to give us a glimpse of a dream, however unrealistic. I myself am a huge fan of the film industry. I started to feel a certain reverence for it because of the way it inspired me to dream and gave birth to my ambitions. This ultimately led to me to go into an in depth investigation of whether I was the only one who felt this way and what affects had been created because of this feeling.

Movies take us inside the skin of people quite different from ourselves and to places different from our routine surroundings. As humans, we always seek enlargement of our being and wanted to be more than ourselves. Each one of us, by nature, sees the world with a perspective and selectivity different from others. Movies offer us a window onto the wider world, broadening our perspective and opening our eyes to new wonders.
