Personal Narrative: My Mother

Who helped develop your life, values, and aspirations? My mother helped me. April, my mother contributed to much of my knowledge about life and how to live. She and my father have raised me in Fyffe, Alabama, a small one red light town. My mom had me at age twenty-three and worked as a special services teacher at Wills Valley. I attended Wills Valley where she worked and that strengthened our bond. For these reasons and many more I chose my mother as the person who helped develop my life, values, and aspirations. My mom has been the person who helped develop my life. She has taught me many valuable things, how to cook, clean, and how to have a good mindset. As a young child, my mom would help me cook basic foods, such as cookies. Overtime I am learning how to cook more complex things, such as lasagna, with the help of my mom in the kitchen. She always says "Cleanliness is next to godliness". This means that we should always have the house clean and put together. She helped develop what my aspirations are by always believing in me and always having a positive outlook on my future. My mother has always believed that anything is possible with a good attitude. So, my goal is to be an OBGYN. I know it will be extra year in college, but in the long run it should pay off. She helped me decide on a job that I should always like and that my personality is fit for by telling me about the options i have and what is more likely to be available in the coming years. I think that since I have her support I will choose a job that will make me happy and support my family, possibly even support her as she will need my help as she gets older.
