As I read the article “Underground Dads” by Will Haygood I seen that everyone doesn’t have it like I did. I grew up with both of my parents and I got everything I wanted. I really look up to two people in my life those people would be my mother and my sister. The reason being is that they both showed me how to be an independent women. I am so thankful for having them in my life and by them teaching me the way life goes help me become they person I am today. I will start off by talking about my amazing mother and how she help me out in the long run. My mother taught me to never rely on anyone that I can do whatever I set my mind to. She also told me that life is full of mistakes and I would always learn from them. She taught me how to cook The person I am today reflect on my mother and sister because they taught me right and how to be a lady. I stay classy never trash. I am a respectful and kind girl. I get along with everyone unless you get on my bad side. I hate drama so never bring that to me. I am really chill type of person I like to have fun and travel the world. There is a lot I want to accomplish in life. I want to become a radiologist it’s going to take a long time to become one but I am going to do whatever it takes. I also want to open a homeless shelter once I get older and start making that good cash money. I feel bad for those who don’t have a place to stay. I see so many of them when I lived in Atlanta and I just want to make a change for them in their lives. One thing I am trying to accomplish this year is to make A’s and have a GPA of a 4.0. Once I accomplish that I plan to transfer to Florida State University and finish my education there. It’s all up to me to do whatever it takes to accomplish this goals I set my self to do. I have change a lot I used to be lazy and never wanted to do anything and I seen school as a place just to get out of the home but I have seen now that school is much more than that. Without my education I will be doing nothing unless I see myself working at a fast food restaurant my whole life. Which I don’t see my future doing that. School is my main focus right I had to change the way I saw things and I’m sure I am going to great in college as long as I push myself. Whenever I become that radiologist I’m sure they will be proud of me. I am once again thankful they talk to me and help whenever I need it and if I ever have to say or asking them something they are ways here. I love them for everything even when I almost gave up in high school they were there telling me that I could do it and just do my best and I will overcome anything. I have many goal that I want to accomplish this year some being learning a better study habit, don’t be as shy, always have a smile of my face even if I’m not have a good day because you never know someone else might not be having a good day and by them seeing you smile might brighten their day, be active on campus, enjoy clubs, the most important one would be getting scholarships. I know if I am determined to accomplish these goal I can do them all. As the year goes on I am sure I will have my goals set for me to accomplish as well. I can say I am a strong independent girl who stands up for herself and I never let anyone run over me. I may seem like a mean person but I am far from that unless you
And it’s all thanks to my mother that I turned out the way I did. I wouldn’t have survived my younger years, both physically and mentally without her unwavering support and love. These situations have taught me more than I would have thought as a child. Even with the absence of a father for virtually all of my life, I would be confident in my abilities to provide everything I could to my children. I know from experience what is missing when there’s no father figure, and I would put my all into giving them everything that was missing from my life.
As a maturing adult I now realize the importance of having a strong parental foundation. Throughout my life there have been moments where both parents demonstrated the characteristics of all four basic parenting styles. However, as I aged it became apparent that my parents had successfully found their niche in a parenting style that was analogous with their personality and beliefs. In my father's case it was the authoritative parenting style. With this style he captured my trust and respect; never letting me down. Furthermore, it was my mother's permissive parenting that undeniably contributed towards my love and gratitude for her. There were also instances where my parents influenced my life both positively and negatively. Nevertheless, I am forever grateful for having my parents in my life, for they contributed (and continue to contribute) towards my success as a growing adult.
I suppose that the way that these things are supposed to go is that I recap her life and tell all of the good things about her and all of the great things she did, and there are many, but I can only tell you about what my mother meant to me.
I first want to start off by thanking my parents.I wouldn't be here today without your unconditional love and support.Mom,you have done so much for me whether that be driving me around, packing my lunch everyday
The people who I look up to is my mom and my dad. Ever since I was born, they helped me with my problem that I have. Every day after school my mom would help me with my homework, because most of the time I don’t understand my assignment, that she knew how to do some math work, because I would forget how to answer my math, while my dad is at work. On his days off me and my dad would sometimes go fishing in the river or a lake, because he would like to spend time with. Other times we would go hunting for deer or bird, because it would be boring if we didn’t do
The first reason why my mother has shaped me into the person that I am today is because my mother wants me to become a good woman. My mom teaches me to be a responsible young woman. For example, my mom asks me to do chores around the house for her. This has impacted me because my
There is this saying, “Everything happens for a reason” and I believe certain things do. I believe that everything I have gone through my life has been preparing me for the beginning of a great career. This world can be a scary place, but there is also beauty in this world with lots of opportunities, and people who want to help make a difference. I want to be one of those people who inspire others to do better, to guide them and to teach them to not give up. If it was not for my counselors and mentors I would not be where I am at today. I was able to accomplish one of my goals of being the first in my family to graduate with my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from CSULA. I want to further my education to better myself, and help others along the way.
Up until this year I had no goals. I was just in college to be in college, like all of my other friends were, but this year things changed. I have been a student at Des Moines Area Community College since 2009, but have only been part-time up until this last semester. In my last semester I have realized that education is no longer a game. It is a way for me to have a better life and benefit the lives of not only me and my future family, but the community around me. There are many people in this world that do not get a chance to go to college, but fortuitously for me I am not one of them. I am one of the chosen few that have been given a chance for a better life, but, until only recently, had not given my entire effort to school and would have probably dropped out if it wasn’t for the people in my life that cared enough about me to help me realize how important education is.
Also, she has always been a good friend to me and I will never stop thanking my mother for what she represents in my life. Moreover, I am glad that my mother is my role model because without her in that place I don’t know for sure if the person I would have followed would be as good as she is in fulfilling this task. A good role model is what everyone should have
Whenever I think about my mom, my dad also comes to my mind as well. Being raised by both parents showed me how much my parents worked as a team. Yes, there were times I felt closer to my mom than my dad dealing with some issues but I think it’s because I am a girl. What girl wants to talk to her dad about girly issues? My mom was my world, but my dad was my super hero. He showed me how a lady should be treated by a man, and taught me how to wrestle, climb trees, and treat others kindly. Since my parents were together there were two incomes to provide for my sister and me. I never saw my mom feeling lonely or my dad stress from his job. Even though my dad worked full time, it did not seem to affect my relationship with him because my mom was there when he was not. I believe if my mom did not have my dad she would not be able to support my sister and I alone or even should us she really cared. It takes both parents to teach their kids the traits of life. Say a single mom was having money issues when paying for her kids to eat lunch at school, if the child finds out their mom is struggling to come ...
My mother was not only worry and take care of me, she always by my side when I need her help. I felt sad, my mother always by my side to talk and to console. While I am glad, my mother is always been there to share and listen to me. When I failed to do something, my mother who was gave me advices. She has always supported me in all my choices. She tried to make me strong people with independent minds. I looks to her in hopes that someday I will be as happy, as strong and as well as
I grew in a small hard working family which had my two main role models my father as a store owner and my mother as an unconditional helper. They worked very hard in order to provide me the best education possible. I have always been proud of my family, and I admire especially the way they dealt with their problems, even under extremely hard circumstances. Their optimistic way of looking at life, focusing on the brightside and improving at whatever could be improved, motivated me to be the person I am today.
My mother has taught me so much over the past twenty-seven years and not until now did I realize that my great qualities that I have as a leader, my mother is the person to thank for all of these qualities.
...mportant person in my life and I know that she will be always there for me with help, her love, and her care. She’s a wonderful person, she admires the beauty of life, and as a result she is always in a good mood. Now, like my mother, I’m a positive thinker, and I am a creative person who believes life is what you create it to be. I also know if I have to make any big decisions in my life, I can always ask my mom for advice because she has the wisdom and experience. I also know that she will tell me the truth even if it is not something that I want to hear, but she will tell me with kindness and without any judgment. My mother is my role model because she does so much for me; she gives me everything she has just to make my life easier. I love my mother and I am so thankful that she is the way she is. My mother is always there for me and I would do anything for her.
I always think to myself, “What would I do if I didn’t have a father like him?” I think about it and then I say, “I would be in the cracks, not doing anything because there is no one here to keep me going and to keep me motivated.” My dad is an amazing cool person to me because he shows me that no matter what struggles he faces in his life or what happens to him, he always gets out of them and he has me and my mom to help him.
