For my interview, I interviewed James Griffin, who has had much experience in the medical field concerning radiology. Regarding technology, he said there have been many advancements since he started his career. When he started his career exams were mainly done manually. In addition to them being done manually, they were also done primarily as X-rays but now have grown to include more MRIs, PET scans, and Ultrasounds. He then when on to say that technology won’t just change in the next five years but “probably ever 12 months.” The skills needed for this job are mental and technological. Mental skills are required so that you can notice any error that may occur. Besides knowing how to operate the machines and recognizing errors you also need
to have compassion and be prepared for anything. A typical day includes setting up the work area, making sure the instruments work properly, preparing for whatever you may be presented with and having a flexible schedule because many times work hours deviate from normal business hours. One of the biggest challenges of not knowing what you will be presented with is the possibility of losing a patient but “ the faster we get our job done the quicker the patient is saved,” he stated. When asked how he knew the job was for him he said,”Because I love it!.” In his chosen career field he stated that the medical field is something you have to love to do and not just go into for the money, which often is the biggest challenge for young job seekers to overcome. His advice to overcome this is to “do what you love”. For a career in this field, he also advised, “ you have to have compassion and love for people.” I enjoyed my interview with Mr.Griffin and learned a lot from him. When talking about how this career will change in the future he told me that there are “a lot of changes for the better...it’s always getting better.” This quote inspired me, even more, to be apart of the next generation in the medical field and work towards advances in this career through my compassion for people and hard work to make things better.
he has spent his whole life in the study of it. “We cannot look to
An actor, when his cue came, was unable to move onto the stage. He said, “I can’t get in, the chair is in the way.” And the producer said, “Use the difficulty. If it’s a drama, pick the chair up and smash it. If it’s comedy, fall over it.” From this experience, the actor concluded that in any situation in life that is negative, there is something positive you can do with it.
The nature of work for radiologic technologists involves many tasks. Often referred to as radiographers, they take x-rays of the human body for a diagnosis. The techs remove jewelry and explain procedures, as well as position the patient to be appropriately radiographed. Lead shields are worn to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation, but techs are also required to follow strict regulations for the use of radiation to protect their patients and coworkers. In addition, radiologic technologists maintain equipment and patient records (Bureau of Labor Statistics). There are certain skills one should possess to be an effective technologist and these include active listening, talking to others to convey information effectively, critical thinking, reading comprehension, and c...
During my half day shadowing of Memorial hospitals radiologist, Dr. Armah, I was able to observe several studies. These studies included several CT scans, and three PET/CT 18F-FDG scans. During my shadowing experience I was able to obtain a better understanding of how the radiologist reads images, what makes for good diagnostic images, and what role I play in the quality of the images. The shadowing experience was one of great importance as it proved to be very informative. Such information included technology impacts, various pathologies, and personal reflection on my role.
Technical skills are the formal name for the knowledge to perform the task at hand. One acquires technical skills by training in formal school systems or in the work environment. Experience is probably one of the most important factors in growing your technical skill in a subject. The importance of technical skills in the workplace is undeniable. Without the knowledge of the subject at hand, there is virtually no way possible to be a well-rounded person. Without technical skills you are not likely to be able to even do the job at hand.
After reading the article written by McLeod and Montane, I have a enhanced insight of the radiologist assistant. I deem that the radiologist assistant is an enormous asset for the radiologist in the radiology field. The radiologist assistant has many responsibilities to perform when working collaboratively with the radiologist. The RA diminishes the workload and stress for the radiologist and provides observations of the digital images; however, he/she does not interpret the final written report. The RA has nine responsibilities to execute. In conclusion, I deem that the RA is a massive asset in
and I started to take it out. They test broken down machinery using computerized diagnostic programing, these particular programs designed to run various tests and find the problem in the machine. It is very important that as an industrial machinery mechanic keeps records of what they repaired, how long it took to repair the machinery, and how much the repair cost. They know how to carry on a conversation about business and talk with others to ask for help when they need it. An industrial machinery mechanic needs to know how to communicate; this is a major part of this particular job.

This video was mostly an introduction into the different modalities of radiology. Each modality was explained in the video and with the new adaptions that technology has provided. I like that they explained why each modality was used and the purpose for using it.
I am attending Baton Rouge General School of Radiologic Technology to pursue an Associates degree through Northwestern State University to become a licensed radiologic technologist. I chose this profession because I thoroughly enjoy helping others and making a difference in people’s lives. Radiologic technologists are expected to give efficient patient care while following the doctor’s order to proceed with the X-ray examination. Radiology is the most important role in healthcare because with out having X-rays, the surgeons could not see inside of the patient’s body to perform surgery. Doctors can not predict what is going on inside of a patient without having an X-ray. I am interested in this being my future career because

"What do you expect to be the major challenge of your career in medicine, why, and how should it be addressed?"
Science has dependably been an in number enthusiasm of mine and I generally knew I needed to seek after a profession in the therapeutic field. Nonetheless, I was undecided in the matter of what therapeutic profession until I went to an Aim Higher Science at Work meeting at the University of Portsmouth. I was given an understanding into a few professions and exhibits that spoke to them. Analytic Radiography truly enlivened me that day and it was by then that I knew this was what I needed to do. From that point forward, I have had the chance to pick up an unmistakable understanding into Radiography through conversing with my uncle, who is a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer, and I will be doing work involvement
With great privilege and honor, I speak of a faithful servant to God and to man, Mr. Delton York. Mr. York and I met eight-months-ago, at the doctoral college, at Grand Canyon University. At first glance, I thought, “This man is a man of high caliber.” Without him uttering a word, I took heed to his professional appearance, mannerisms, and demeanor—fortunately, I could not compare him to an ordinary man. Appearance alone, he exuded extraordinary qualities. Other men were present, but they were imitations of his style.
