Personal Narrative: My First Job

When I was young, I wasn’t exactly excited about getting a job. Sure, it would be a good way to meet some new people and learn about how the real world worked, but in the end, it was mostly about having some extra money. Having to ask family for to buy me the next new video game or graphic novel didn’t always feel good. I knew that when I buy something with my own money, I would feel proud. I applied to a few of jobs, and when I finally got the email telling me that I had an interview, a little nervous. Not long after it was time for the interview. Due to all my pressure, some negative thoughts started to rush through my head; “It is my first job, so I’m I even wearing appropriate cloths to the interview?”. I took a deep breath and thought to myself; No, I’m sure it’s all fine, I just need to try my best”. When I got there, I asked for the manager and he automatically sat me down to start the questioning. I felt tense walking in but after a few minutes it thankfully faded away. When the interview was over I filled out some forms. After a short orientation, I was ready to start the first day. He told me to take a break and said it’s sadly normal to get consumer’s like this. The rest of the day, all I did was work on stacking the rest of the inventory.
